*THISREVIEWISBASEDONTWOITEMSONLY The fried corn nuggets are my absolute favorite thing on this whole earth. Juicy, sweet and savory all in one. The fried mushrooms are a close second. They pop right in your mouth. The exterior shouldn’t scare you away. There is great, fatty, greasy food to be had in there.

Best buffalo wings in the area. Ribs are also very good. Chicken is so-so and I would stay away from the mashed potatoes which are awful imo. Can’t go wrong with the ribs, Jimbo shrimp or wings

First time visitor to this place. Sorry it is a 1 and done for me. It is a look good bland tasting food place. The fries were hot and tasty after doctoring them up with everything. The fish had no taste at all. And the corn on cob(which I enjoy all the time) was not even hot. I like the set up and décor of the establishment though. But 175 for a soda I can get for 1.25 just moment away. Hmmm. But it seem to do well judging but the locals. So this is just one guys opinion

Most bland fried chicken I’ve ever had which seems to be a trend in this area! You would be better going to KFC or Popeyes. Even the instant mashed potatoes had no taste… a little salt and pepper would go a long way.

The food is okay and served pretty fast. The fries are awesome and a must get. The service is okay and they’re pretty friendly. We’ve been going there for years. The place is a bit run down and kind of grimy, but it’s been there for a while.

I prefer chicken from Chicken Holiday over KFC. When I lived in Bridgewater, I used to get chicken from the Bridgewater location. The Dunellen location is a lot closer to where I live now.

Chicken Holiday is part of my childhood, and its great to see it’s still around. My favorite used o be close to Route 27, where Hmart now exists. Alas that location is no longer there. I was always fond of the fried zucchini and mushrooms. On this visit to this location I decided to go with just wings and onion rings. In past experiences, it usually takes time for me to get my order since they cook it after ordering. On this visit, the order seemed to be ready in a short amount of time. It makes me theorize that maybe it was«refried»?. The taste was ok, chicken holiday was on the bland side, but I always enjoyed it since it felt like it was cooked at home. As far as ambiance, the place looks well kept and definitely a mom and pop kind of place. The place definitely had a fast food Jersey feel to it despite the wall dedicated to the New York Yankees close to the counter. I still plan to go back and try again and hope that if I don’t order just wings. the chicken will taste the way I remember it.

I’ll say this– the chicken wings and ribs were fantastic. Nice and spicy, not breaded. I went on a sunday and I saw a few people come in for large wing pick-ups. The ribs were meaty without being overdone and the bbq sauce was great. That being said, this is a Chicken Holiday. I expected the fried chicken to be the star, and it disappointed. I ordered a 4 piece and I think they gave me 5 as a way to acknowledge that the leg I got was garbage. The chicken itself was breaded and fried nicely, but the meat was small on every piece. Maybe I got a bad batch, or the end of a shipment. Either way, now that Edison is closed down it’s this or East Brunswick in a head to head contest to make my fried chicken. After I get that craving again I’ll see who wins.
