PLENTIFUL portions for a great price. One of our favorite places to eat at near my boyfriend’s parent’s house. No idea what’s in the green sauce, but I wish they sold it by the gallon.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first heard I was trying this place for dinner. Planet chicken exceeded my expectations by far. I was not expecting a full course menu and a dine in area. Brownie points for a welcoming, quiet, and inviting sit down restaurant. I tried a steak dish with over easy eggs laid on top served with veggies and French fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and blended with the taste of the egg really well. My friend claims their homemade fried rice is some of the best stuff on earth and he’s right, I tasted it! There seems to be a little bit of everything on this menu from burgers to chicken dishes so everyone will be satisfied. I definitely recommend planet chicken to anyone.

I got what everyone seemed to be ordering and enjoying– the roast chicken, and I made sure to get the green sauce! the chicken was very soft and juicy, and the sauce lived up to the good reviews given of it. waiting to try other menu items to bump this place up to five stars, but overall a nice place for some good chicken

Was there a few hours ago. Nice atmosphere, good service. This place is famous for the chicken, but we didn’t have any tonight. I had grilled beef heard called anticucho, which was nice and flavorful. Then moved on to fried red snapper fillet, which was fresh, not a lot of flavor, but seemed fresh. My wife had a Jalea, which is a mix of fried seafood, mostly calamari with some fish, shrimp and mussels in the mix. Seemed dry and overcooked, we’ve had some better jalea in other places. All in all, it was decent, and we’ll come back to try the chicken

I’ve been coming here for over 14 years. I lived in Dunellen for a year and became acquainted with Planet Chicken. It is the bomb as far as Peruvian chicken joints go. Yes it is Rotisserie Chicken,(when I first came here the rotisserie was in the front, when you came in) But, it is Rotisserie Chicken Peruvian style, which simply means it has been well seasoned and marinating for a day, then cooked. A whole lotta of deliciousness comes from that process. So glad they have sweet plantains(aka tostones), they used to only have the Green bitter ones. The Green sauce is a must if you like that extra kick. I’ve moved, every once in a while I will take a 40 minute to satisfy my craving for this wonderful Peruvian treat.

Been here 3 times, can’t believe I didn’t review then. But better later than never! The food was amazing! Literally the best damn roasted chicken I’ve ever tasted anywhere! Not even Costco rotisserie can compare, and I love Costco chicken. The green sauce if phenomenal I actually was able to copy cat the recipe haha I put extra jalapeño to give it more kick. Their fried plantains are so delicious as well! I have done dine in and take out. My experience has been consistent with every visit! The staff is pretty nice the owners run the place well! Even if I had one bad experience it won’t ruin my overall perception of the place since the food is great!

The WORST Peruvian Chicken I have ever tried. No flavor at all I was very disappointed. I recommend not to sell Peruvian food … You are ruining our Image… People that haven’t tried the authentic food can’t see the difference.

Love their food! You can never go wrong with the planet chicken combo. Nice place to have lunch/dinner! The staff is always super friendly and the food always comes out within 10 minutes. On the weekends it gets packed so be prepared to wait, but it’s worth it!

Planet Chicken is one of my favorite go-to spots for fresh Rotisserie Chicken. The chicken is very tender, moist and juicy — not to mention the skin which is also juicy and crispy. I’ve tried their chicken fried rice and that’s also good. The Rotisserie chicken is sold in portions of ¼th ½ and full, and it is not expensive.

Planet Chicken is delish. If you are looking for an authentic Peruvian restaurant, you won’t be disappointed. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not a cheap take out restaurant but a cute little sit down with great food. The green is sauce is LIFE. Don’t know what they put in it but I would literally eat if by the spoonful if I was allowed. Great on anything! The chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the calamari is soo good. Spring for the combo platter and you’ll def be satisfied.

They have some of the best chicken around. It is rotisserie style. It is seasoned just right. They are a nice, inexpensive dinner for the family. If you are daring, use the green sauce. The other dinners are just as yummy. The place always has a big crowd, but I have never waiting long for a table. It can get loud inside, but it is not an issue. BYOB is allowed. On the street parking.

Great tasting chicken, even the next day. Not dry, just perfect. Their tostones in place of fries were delicious. They give you a generous amount; 6. I will def eat here again! I highly recommend Planet Chicken.

I’ve never been failed by them. Solid half chicken with rice & green sauce, & tostones = perfect quick dinner. It really is flawless and delicious. The only complaint I have is they tend to run out of certain sides and desserts sometimes. But otherwise no real problems. I love the place.

This place would have received a four star review for food and a 2 – 3 star review for service. My fiancé and I have ordered take out from here before, however, this time we decided to dine in. We knew to expect amazing pollo a la brasa(chicken is moist and falls off the bone). The skin is crisp and has an amazing saltiness/smokiness to it. We also ordered Peruvian green spaghetti and steak. The green spaghetti was really good. The steak was decent; I’m just not a huge fan of thin cut steaks; they tend to seem dry/tough to me. They were a bit understaffed or the wait staff were not experienced and forgot to bring us water even after we asked 3 times. I was a bit frustrated to not have water even though we had our food for quite some time and the saltiness needed the water to cut it a bit. I was also a bit put off that when we ordered water they brought out two bottles of water without first asking whether we wanted tap or bottled. It was strange that was the understood default. That only tends to happen in smaller less formal settings like pizza places but this restaurant does not give off that type of feel. For what it’s worth there was very little wait for the food it came out extremely fast after we placed the order, which was nice. Overall a solid 3.5 stars from me but for the sake of the experience I’ll leave a three rather than the four star rating. Food wise though it is a very legitimate Peruvian experience.

Great food. No wait on a friday night. Good for families. Chicken was moist but could of had more flavor. Had the whole chicken, white rice, beans, fries, and sweet plantains with two drink. The green sauce was kind of weird but ok. I would come back. A lot of food for your money.

This place is family favorite. When it comes to ceviche and chaufa(Peruvian fried rice) they know what they are doing. The chicken can sometimes be slightly dry and over cooked but for the most part its ok. One recommendation is to eat there instead of take out.

My first review for planet chicken was 4 years ago, though I’ve been coming for even longer than that. I just recently came back after a long while. I see that I’ve always given it a 4 in the past, but I’m gonna bump this up to a most deserving five. The food was just as great. They have raised the price of the combo to $ 16, but it’s still worth it. This time around the service was impeccable, we gave a 25% tip. There is a lot to be said about consistency and quality. Oh yea, the calamari is to die for!

Peruvian Chickens look like other chickens… Yes… they also lay eggs like other chickens. They walk like any other chicken as well… But peruvian chickens… For some reason, just taste better than all other chickens. Nature? Nurture? Chicken or the egg… Whatever your philosophic bent may be… Their green sauce… This simple condiment which they serve with their bird is a religious experience. Green + Sauce = Alchemy
