Second time is a charm… had dinner here tonight and the food was fantastic, much to, our surprise there was live piano music, the pianist was awesome and the restaurant was lively, fun and added to a memorable evening. All our food was served steaming hot and prepared flawlessly… Will we be back? Definetly!!!

This is a 5 star dining experience if you know what your looking for. Saly G is an old school restaurant with charm, excellent service and a small but well executed menu. This is the place you take someone like your prospective father in law, when you want to show him you mean business, but your not about flash. Most important, all the items we ordered were fresh, classically prepared and served professionally. The meal started with conplimentary caponata w/the bread basket. We had a delicious burrata and prosciutto salad. The ladies shared a paparardelle Bolognese, and I had the skirt steak rare. Everything was excellent. We ordered no dessert, but received complimentary zeppoli covered w/confectious sugar fresh from the fryer. Outstanding! This is not an every night restaurant, but it works on all levels for a serious meal.

Very nice owners who care about their customers and employees. Bread at the beginning of dinner was served super hot.

took over 20 min to get someone to take our drink order, at the same time took our food order. overall the food was good but service lacked, seemed as if the locals used as their own local watering hole. dont think my wife and i will be back

Saly Gs is not easy to find. You would NEVER know it was there unless someone told you. Its located behind the A&P Plaza in Warren, and is not really visible from the road that runs behind it. Its an upscale place, and has one of the few bars in Warren. The least expensive entrée is over $ 20 for the chicken, and many are over $ 30. While the food was good, it wasn’t outstanding, and for the price I feel there are better options in the area.

This is my first time here as it was recommended by my cousin… I came in with an open mind. It exceeded my expectations in every way! Although a bit pricey, everything we ordered was perfect so well worth the money. The special for Wednesday was mushroom risotta. delicious! My mom got soup, and I got a mozzerella/tomato appetizer. she got pork chops and I got bronzino for our entrees. We finished with coffee and I ordered a chocolate martini. We go out to dinner at least a few times a week and our expectations are high for the quality of the food and service. and we were pleasantly surprised to find that everything was perfect! Our server was Vito according to our receipt, he was very attentive. We will definately return and bring others.

This was my first time here. I was surprised to find out that Sally G’a is located behind pheasant run shopping mall all the way around the back. This place is not visible from Washington Valley Road. There is limited parking in the back and it can get very busy. I went inside to find a nicely decorated open spaced room with a large granite bar. I was expecting a very casual place. I sat at the bar because I met some friends. The drinks were made well(no skimping on the pour including the wine.) As I looked around I saw several tables located in the bar area and they were full. There is also a dining room off the bar area. All the tables were nicely dressed with white linens. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. There was even people sitting at the bar ordering appetizers and entrees. The food looked good. They were serving everything from burgers to steak to Italian specialties. We ordered several appetizers the kickin calamari which had a light breading and a spicy sweet and sour chili sauce. It had good flavor. We also tried their crab cakes. They were good I think it had something else in it besides crab. I ordered a tri colored salad of riddichio, arugula and endives. It had goat cheese and walnuts and a citrusy vinegrette .This place is pricey. I was here on a weekend so there was a guy playing music. The bar area along with the dining room was dimly lit. I got the feeling that I was in some kind of Soprano’s movie. The people tended to loud and very New Yorkie! Like wise guy types… This is not the norm for this area. The service seemed a bit slow. The barmaid forgot my friends cappuccino. When it was brought to her attention she apologized and fixed it. It was a surprising because she wasn’t that busy. I also felt she should have asked us if we wanted another drink or refill. We shouldn’t have to get her attention to get another drink if she’s not busy. I don’t know if I would return. There are many other places to go in the area that are better and less pricey.

Have came to Saly G’s multiple times in the past few years for mainly a few drinks. Visited last night during happy hour for the first time to actually eat some food. I am going to start off by saying normally the drinks are pretty good, but last night the martini I had was absolutely horrible… disgusting, cough syrup, grosse. I had the raspberry martini after the waiter had informed me the pear AND the peach martini were not available. Really? On a Wednesday night your shelves aren’t stocked with basic items? The reason I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 3 is because of the outstanding food and great service we had. I left so satisfied with everything that we ordered. For starters we ordered the prosciutto balls(rice balls) and wings. Both were fantastic and reasonably priced(5 $ during happy hour). Prosciutto balls were so good we ordered some more. After our apps, I changed drinks to vodka pineapple… standard…nothing special. For dinner, we were pretty full from apps, so we split the veal francese… outstanding…absolutely outstanding. Normally I do not eat veal but it was so full of flavor and the meat was pounded very thin… making it very enjoyable. The added touch that wowed me was that the meal was split perfectly between 2 plates because our waiter knew we were sharing the meal. VERYIMPRESSED with that. It came with a side of roasted potatoes and garlic green beans(which might have been better than the meat but I couldn’t decide). Some might find this local gem of Warren a town watering hole… but it is what you make of it, will be returning but hope the drinks will be better!

Our friends, who are loyal customers of Saly G’s, took us for dinner on a Thursday night. It’s located behind a strip mall so it’s not that visible from the main street. The restaurant name lends itself more to a tavern than a upscale restaurant so we didn’t know what to expect. At first glance, the atmosphere was comfortable. As you walk in, a musician is strumming along on the side as a friendly hostess greeted us. As we were being seated I noticed how dimly lit the place was. The menu was a bit pricey but had pretty good options. For starters we had the crab cake and the calamari. Those were great especially the calamari, sweet and spicy and cooked to perfection. Dinners were the Mahi-mahi special, which was delicious. The Capellini Sinatra, which was pasta with clams and shrimp in a tomato sauce. The flavors were there but could have used a bit more sauce and the shrimp was somewhat tough but overall very good. One friend had the Chicken Milanese which he though was very good as well. For dessert I had the italian cheesecake with notes of orange and it was very light and yummy. Overall, it’s more like an Italian restaurant than an American grill. The food was pretty good and the staff were more than accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised with our experience. We’d like to return to see how the food and service would be on a busier night.

My husband and I made a reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday night here. We stopped and had a couple drinks at the bar before eating. The wine pour was large and the house pinot noir was very good. The place was empty when we got there at 5:30 but by our reservation time it was filling up. We had the Kickin Calamari as an appetizer which I would highly recommend. It was a great blend of a sweet and mildly spicy/sour sauce mixed in with the perfectly crispy calamari. For dinner I had a special, tagliatelli pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage with a light garlic and oil sauce. Everything was cooked well and the flavors were very tasty. My husband had the pork loin special stuffed with cranberries, served with potatoes. He really enjoyed his as well. I absolutely recommend this place and will be back.

The only time I stopped in here I was left unimpressed with my entire visit. Everyone was just going through the motions because it was Monday. Pheasant Run probably isn’t the best locale for a bar in Warren, but nonetheless here’s how my visit went. Came in and sat down at the bar. Had a Yuengling draft that tasted like the tail end of the keg.(That’s not anyone’s fault, it’s going to happen eventually, just happened to be me.) The lighting was a tad too dim. It seemed like we were in a strip club, and not a bar/restaurant. The bartender didn’t seem to happy to be there(can’t blame her), and the vibe was just an uncomfortable one. When she gave me the check to close my tab, she didn’t even leave a pen. I had to ask the bus boy(who barely spoke English) for a pen. Not cool… I’m sure there might be some redeeming qualities to this place, I just didn’t experience any of them.
