Church of the Advent is a very welcoming and inclusive church. It is one of two churches I have worshiped at here in Ocala, the other being Queen of Peace. Clearly they are very different in their religious traditions. Queen of Peace is Roman Catholic, while Church of the Advent follows the Anglican tradition. During the English Reformation, when Elizabeth I succeeded Mary as Queen, she stated we are both Catholic and Protestian. This is the so called middle way of the Elizabethan Settlement, or «Via Media». Church of the Advent has elements of both, which you can see during their service or Mass. What I appreciate most was the genuine warmth I felt during The Peace and the invitation to stay for their Coffee Hour. On the most recent Sunday I was here, they had both the Cubs and Boys Scouts preparing and serving food. Nice! I have taken several pictures of their sanctuary. They also use the back of the church for their parish gatherings and have a very large Choir. Peace!
