Perfect entertainment for me and my 15 yr old daughter. We loved it. Actors are very talented. Go see the show, you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I bought tickets for the evening’s show just before heading into the Diamond Belle saloon for dinner which included even more entertainment by Dan Rottenberg’s live ragtime piano. Talk about a night FULL of entertainment, from the waitresses, to the piano player, to the show and even a brief tour of the hotel to checking out some of its hidden compartments and a real bullet whole in the bar-what can I say, it was a night to remember! The music was great, the food was great and the show was more than I could have expected. These young college students from across the nation did an amazing job. I had no idea what to expect from the word: Vaudeville or Melodrama, but after seeing the performance I must say, it EXCEEDED my expectations. Since we only had this one night free, this is what the Visitor’s Center gal, Mary recommended — and now I’m passing it on; don’t miss the Strater Hotel’s vast amount of history & entertainment! Enjoy.

Went to see the Dame of Durango… and although the actors tried, the show was disappointing and not a all what we expected, especially since we had heard good things about it. Not worth the $ 48 the two of us paid. We left at intermission. .I will say that the Diamond Belle Saloon in the hotel is amazing. The piano players, servers, food and drink is definitely worth a v oh st.

There were four of us and we bought the DINNER and SHOW package. The dinner was next to the Strater Hotel at the Mahogany Grill. Three courses for $ 20 — delicious. Then went into to the show, the Dame of Durango. I thought it was corny at first, but it just got better and better. Amazing talent! The seating in the theatre could be better, they kind of squeeze you in on cheap auditorium-type chairs surrounding small tables as they serve drinks and food so it gets a bit uncomfortable after a while. Not enough to knock it down a star. I’m all for supporting small town talent. Highly recommend.

To visit Durango, and miss the melodrama at the Strater would be a shame. The talents are great, the shows are well done, the theater is clean. The actors double as your waitstaff before the show. Every seat is a good one. This is old-school entertainment, and very appropriate for children. You can make reservations online before you go, or you can buy them from the very helpful and friendly box office. Do not miss this, if you are spending the night in Durango!

HAHAHAHAH! My entire family loved this place. My 5-year old was glued to the live acting and my son and his fiancée loved seeing the Vaudeville show at the end. These are the hardest working actors in America! They wait your tables, do a show, wait on you some more, second act, do a Vaudeville show, and then shake your hand at the end. The Piano Player/Host? Completely Old School and hilarious.

We had a lot of fun; they put on a great little show. The staff was very friendly.
