This place was adorable and have a very friendly staff. I had the French Toast, and it was the most amazing I’ve ever tasted. Come to find out, it is fried and has a bit of a funnel cake taste… PHENOMENAL. My bf had the Verde Scramble and had to take half home and is excited to eat it later. We will definitely be back! P. S. — the train along the top of the café is amazing

Kinda awkward start. Came on a Mon at 1:15 and they gave me the same menu as the pic on their website so I ordered the Durango Scramble with toast but was told they have switched to lunch and she turned my menu over to the other side. I said oh man —- well give me a bit and I’ll start over. Well funny thing, they have omelettes on their lunch menu and one has the same ingredients as the Durango Scramble… avocado, bacon and cheese. She came back and I pointed that out and she said yeah but we don’t have hash browns. Okay, can I just have toast? She said she would let me substitute that. Whew! That was harder than it had to be. The omelette was very good! Fresh and tasty with really crisp bacon. She put my check down when she served my food and never checked on me. Slow right now with lots of visiting going on. I would have ordered a piece of pie to go. Soooo, good food but nothing friendly about my server.

Great hole in the wall… was a locals place for many years and since Unilocal has grown into a visitors paradise. There is a little something for everyone here during breakfast and lunch. Grew up going here and always when I’m back in town make at least one visit. You can’t fail with a choice but don’t pass on the green chili. Have fun eating this delicious food!

Great diner in Durango, best by far in the area. Good menu selection and delicious pies! Seems like a fun place at all times with its upbeat ambience and friendly staff. Also, the Cowboy Breakfast w a slice of blueberry pie is not to be missed!

Nice place. Nice interior. Nice staff. Delicious french toast. I like the train that circles the ceiling. It is in the grocery store parking lot. The map on Unilocal says to turn on 11th street. But you turn into the parking lot.

Great food and service! Good coffee! I recommend the bacon avocado omelette. My only complaint would be that their creamer had already gone bad but they brought me a fresh cup.

Bustling place on a Sunday, even at 8am so if you aren’t local and you’re catching a raft, train, or heading up to Mesa Verde, come early! The place is small, and packed, but the food is really really good comfort food. Very authentic, and the service is also great. They have a take out for a limited number of items if you’re in a rush.

Good solid restaurant where the locals eat. Stopped in for breakfast after an overnight in Durango and was not disappointed. Busy place but we were seated promptly and coffee was on the table almost immediately. Food was great along with the green chili sauce you can get on just about anything. Real affordable too.

Okay. So, this place is not only charming with a train track and functioning choo-choo train all around the border of the ceiling but absolutely delicious! The service was also wonderful with my coffee mug constantly filled as needed, which was highly appreciated. I had the breakfast burrito which was, hands down, the best burrito I have ever eaten, and I have breakfast burritos every because they are my favorite! The French toast is amazing also with thus sweet crispy crust that I’ve never seen in French toast and took it over the top. The banana pancake was huge, super fluffy, and tastes wonderful. Really. Everything was SUPERB!

Great food, great service and great ambiance! Haven’t had lunch yet, but the breakfast is simply amazing. Generous portions on plates that will cover up the table!

Busy busy busy! We lucked out and managed to get a table almost right away, but it was otherwise packed the entire time. The dining area is pretty crammed(we were at a table near the back and people kept squeezing past to use the restroom). I had the french toast special, which came with two pieces of toast, sausage, and eggs. I barely made it through. The french toast has an unusual crunchy coating but was very good. It’s in a little strip mall that we found tricky to get in or out of due to the one way streets, so you may end up circling a bit before making it in.

Excellent breakfast with a diner style. It gets busy so get there early on the weekends.

This place is money. jackpot on the breakfast. One of he best breakfast places in Colorado and top ten in the country in my humble opinion. The bacon and avocado omelette was spot on delicious. It comes with amazingly delicious hash browns that are done right. The folks are friendly as well as the staff. Great experience!

Best breakfast ever! Had noticed this location on Unilocal, and a local suggested it as the best in town! Ya gotta go by and check it out. It looks as good as it tastes too. Durango Silverton train running on a track around the room. Oscar’s is small but worth any wait.

Boy, this place is popular! We came around 9AM on Saturday, April 25th and waited around 20 minutes to be seated. It’s a very small building which contributes to the wait. It has a very typical diner atmosphere with friendly servers and tons of regulars. My husband had biscuits and gravy and I had a Durango Scrambler(I think that’s what it was called.) Both were really good and homemade tasting. My scrambler had tons of fresh slices of avocado! My husband said the coffee wasn’t great and lacked that kind of «burned» diner coffee taste. The servers were nice and worked very hard and like clockwork. If we are back in Durango and in the mood for not too fancy, but yummy diner food we will certainly come back!

There are a lot of dining options in Durango, but this place is a true local hideout. This is some of the best breakfast food you will ever put inside your glorious mouth. Still my fathers favorite spot, Oscars has everything from high carb, potato lovin’, green chile smotherin’, gravy covered goodness to satisfy even the hungriest of lumberjacks! In high school I used to come here every Friday with my grandpa before he passed away, it was also his favorite spot. It’s a small place so give yourself some time to wait for a table or bar stool and you’ll be happy you did. P. S. Cover everything in their gravy, it’s incredible!
