Ski Barn

Very helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient staff. We rented demos for three days of epic skiing at Purg. Phenomenal snow and the staff had great recommendations for powder skis. One of our best ski trips of all time and the Ski Barn guys made it happen!

Me and my 16-​year-​old son had never been skiing and were quite clueless about the gear. The guys at Ski Barn were real patient and helpful in walking us through all the needed items. They even checked the weather at Purgatory and didn’t up sell us on needless goggles/​eyewear, though they made sure we at least had some sunglasses. We rented skis, a board, helmets and boots. They went so far as calling another gear place down the street for an item they did not stock but felt we needed. I highly recommend them and we will use them for all our gear needs.

Any of the ski gear I’ve acquired since I moved to Durango has been through the Ski Barn! They have been very helpful from fitting my new boots to helping me decide on a pair of powder skis (that I’ve barely gotten to use… with all this snow I thought I’d see after moving from NY)! I highly suggest this store… they usually have great deals and they have a very friendly staff!

Good for renting skis for a trip up to DMR! The people were very helpful and we received quick service when we wanted to get some skis for a day trip. Very reasonable as well, $ 80 for three people to rent boots, skis and poles for a day while up at the resort it can be around $ 75/​person!

These folks were really nice. I brought my rental gear back a day early because I wasn’t feeling good and they refunded the day’s rental without me even asking.

When packing the skis in the car for the 8 hour drive to Durango, I noticed there was a split in the base of my ski and cracking along the top of the ski where the binding connected. Upon arriving in Durango, I went to the ski barn about 5:30pm — they diagnosed a severe crack in the ski, rendering it unsafe to use. With a 3-​day ski weekend ahead, this was not good news. But, Vanessa showed me their variety of skis based on my ability level and type of skiing I do. She set me up with a demo pair to use on the next day and they said to call them by noon the next day (after I skied the morning) if I liked the demos and wanted to purchase a new pair. I LOVED the demo skis — which is a testament to their knowledge of product and how to connect skiers with what is right for the individual. On the way back from DMR into town, they had my new skis ready to go with bindings, wax and tune! I can’t wait to get on my new Dynastars tomorrow @ Wolf Creek. Thanks Vanessa and co. for making it a great weekend afterall. I mountain town ski shops! They are usually very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Ski Barn is great!

We dropped into Ski Barn before heading up to Durango-​Purgatory Ski Resort. We wanted to rent comfort skis for two days of skiing. After the 2 person ski rental, damage waiver, a no-​fog lens cloth, & tax, our total came to $ 100.45. Nice folks.
