I have eaten here several times, and never been the least bit impressed. Service is patchy, the food is always underwhelming and overpriced. Most of the staff doesn’t care, and for the price you pay, you don’t get much food. It’s usually greasy and unappealing in taste and appearance. The restaurant is also dingy and sticky. You’d be better off going to one of the chain restaurants where you at least get decent food for the same or less money and a slightly less depressing atmosphere.

It reminds me of a Waffle House, and I think that was the intent of the owners, which is fine with me. The breakfast was tasty and the price was decent. I stayed at the Best Western next door and will definitely visit both again in the future.

Thinnest pieces of bacon I’ve ever seen in my life. 8.99 for a thin waffle, 2 pieces of thin bacon and 1 small egg was not worth it. Entry door super dirty. Server was nice.

The food was really good here. We didn’t know they served dinner, we thought is was breakfast only. My dinner was very good and plenty of food. My husband had a Belgian waffle and it was tasty. Good service, nice people.

The grits are good… not runny or under cooked.

Oh the Waffle Shoppe. As someone who grew up in Durant we only had a few places to go after 10, and this was one of them. It was grim in the 90s and was still grim when I went last about 6 years ago. Do they still have the bug zapper above one of the tables? The service was always good. Nice ladies. The food was pretty good. Price was fine. I’d go again if I still lived there.

The service was great, food was good, and the waitress was kind enough to give us coffee for the road. We have a family of six who were all served quick and to order. The wait staff was very friendly. This is a great place if you’re looking to get away from the big chain restaurants for a little more homestyle, little less polished.

I ordered 3 eggs, sausage, a pancake, and coffee. No toast no hash browns nothing else. The eggs were supposed to be over medium but the whites even were runny. The sausage patties were cooked on one side only giving the meat a weird texture. The pancake was at least decent. As mediocre as the meal was though, what annoyed me the most was the price. 14 dollars. Really? Ridiculous. I won’t be back.

My boyfriend, his daughter, and I were at the lake and needed to run into town for a quick bite. As we live in Austin, we were unaware of local businesses, and decided that waffles and eggs would be great for breakfast. I ordered a western omelette which was palatable. My boyfriend ordered two eggs, toast, and hash browns. His food was swimming in oil. He ended up eating of my plate. The saving grace of our meal was his daughter’s pancake. It was light, fluffy, and delicious. If you eat at the Waffle Shoppe be sure to order waffles or pancakes. The rest is too greasy for even a greasy spoon.
