Usually when I go someplace for breakfast, I’m looking for the unusual or varied menu. You don’t find that here. What you do find is a good, solid, standard breakfast, well prepared and pleasantly served. The home fries were memorable. The eggs and chicken fried steak were quite good. Nothing pretentious, all well prepared. My regret here was that when the waitress asked if I wanted the biscuit grilled, I said no. It was good, but would have been better grilled. I think Dine in Durham is a true classic.

The food was delicious but the restaurant wasn’t busy and the waitress was not attentive at all. She did refill one of our parties drinks without having to be asked but as soon as another patron came in that was it. We had to repeatedly ask for things. It’s a shame because the place could be a really popular place.

Dine in Durham fits perfectly in its’ locale, an affordable, unpretentious country dinette just a bit north of the fairgrounds on Main St. We found the service to be fast, friendly and attentive and the food to be very reasonably diner good. They’ve been slow at dinner so do them a favor and check the place out when you’re looking for some cheap affordable cooking in the country.

Great comfort food and very reasonable prices. I went for late lunch/early dinner and had the pot roast. It was tender and tasty, with mashed potatoes and gravy that were just delicious. It was pretty quiet and the whole staff was super attentive – I think even the owner even checked on us a few times. Can’t beat the prices – $ 25 for dinner for two with a big slice of chocolate cake! It’s a little out of the way for me, but I’ll definitely be back!
