Excellent food and service. Their steak tips and chicken Cesar salad is my favorite. Great place to sit at the bar and watch a sports game

Acoustics in this place can be tough. Enjoyed the seafood. Didn’t have reservation was crowded but didn’t have too long of await. Would go back again

Stopped for a quick dinner. Horrible service bartender was bitchy. When we finally were noticed we were given menus and ordered our food. Overall slow service and bar was understaffed probably won’t return.

Have to say, my favorite place. Great bar area, awesome friendly bartenders, prompt service. Out door patio in summer is nice place to hang out Food is consistently great, and they just changed up the menu. A little pricey, but worth it, I just wish they had music

We really enjoy coming here. The staff is friendly but never hover over us. We never feel rushed even if we’re the last table. Love the chicken Marsala and sirloin tips. Yes there are places where the food is better but overall it’s a comfortable, quiet place for my husband and I to actually relax, talk and enjoy our meal. Great pour on the wine never a half glass. The white is always chilled and the coffee and desserts are really good. We love it here.

Came with a large group at 2:00 pm; sat in the dining room. Waitress was annoyed that a few people arrived later than the initial group, and she mentioned this to us. Incredibly unprofessional.(We ended up with 12 in the party.) Then, when several people wanted to pay their check and leave before the others, she got annoyed with that as well. Said that we should have told her at the start that we all wanted separate checks. This absurd whining and complaining happened at least twice, then I had to leave. Just so completely inappropriate. I mean, this is 2015 — just push the buttons on the machine and make it work, please. The waitress at Buffalo Wild Wings had no problem with it last week. Actually, no waitperson I’ve had in recent memory had a problem with it — or, if they did, they sure as hell didn’t mention it to us. Talk about making a good time with friends uncomfortable and awkward for everyone. Also, the Kobe burger was overpriced, undercooked, and bland.

When I’m in the mood for a beer and a burger this is a great choice. Great juicy burgers cooked to your liking. I enjoy a medium rare burger and theirs is done great. I chose sweet potato fries which were good and a blue moon on tap. The service is great and place is clean and comfortable. I hope to try their regular menu and dining room someday, which gets a thumbs up from others.

We celebrated my birthday again here this year. Last year was the first time I ate here and enjoyed it so much — just had to come back again. I remembered it was one of the best hamburger I’ve ever eaten. This year, I was disappointed not in the hamburger, but the bun. My daughter said it was because it was a pretzel bun and I said it was hard and too chewy. The hamburger was good eaten without the bun. The rest of the party ordered giant salads and non-hamburger meals, so they were quite satisfied. Next time I’ll order a Cobb salad or something else if they are still serving the hamburgers on those awful pretzel buns.

The service was great. Our burgers, paninis, and sandwich were all very delicious. The shrimp bisque was amazing as well.

4 of us got take out on a Saturday night and were not impressed. The 2 steak sandwiches and 2 burgers took much longer than expected. Ready in 20 turned into ready in over 45. Both burgers were overcooked and both steak sandwiches were really dry. We’ll never get take out from here again.

After a tour and tasting at Thimble Islands Brewing Company — we headed here for some grub. We had reservations but arrived a bit early so we found a table near the bar and grabbed a beer while we waited. Props for having a popcorn machine with free popcorn which we munched on while pursuing the beer menu. Not a huge tap list but what they lack in taps they make up for in an extensive domestic and foreign bottle list. I sampled brews from Three Philosophers and Ithaca Beery Company. Not long after we were seated, and although we had reservations, we were seated near the kitchen/bathrooms. It was really not that crowded so I am unsure why this happened but we were so hungry that we let it slide. The menu is pretty extensive so to give us some time we took the recommendations of our hosts and ordered a couple of apps — fried calamari, kale salad and a house salad to share. And once the apps came we put our orders in — burger for Mark C and baked stuffed shrimp for myself. Our waitress could not have been nicer, I never felt pressured to order, and our main entrees came out after we were done with our apps. I put all this information in the previous paragraph so that the food review could stand alone. Although the food we ordered was brought out in a timely fashion and was hot when served, it was standard at best. The calamari, although crispy, lacked any flavor in the breading and was only assisted by the 3 dipping sauces that accompanied it. Mark’s burger was ok, My baked stuffed shrimp, whose stuffing was filled with green peppers, lacked butteriness I have come to love in this dish, and the shrimp itself although presented nicely was almost unseen beneath the stuffing. The sweet potato fries, although not fresh, were crispy and seasoned nicely, I just wish there were more on the plate. In hindsight I should have asked them to skip the green beans(not a fan) and double the fries. So would I be back — probably, but only if I was in the area and our friends wanted to grab a meal here.

I was here for dinner with a girl friend on a Friday night. It was packed! There was nowhere to park! However, when we got inside my friend was lucky enough to grab a table in the bar area for us. They had an extensive menu and an impressive list of mixed drinks. The food was pretty good. We both ordered the same special, scallops, mango, and sweet pea risotto. I am sure we will be back here again for dinner and drinks.

My husband and I have often driven by noting the parking lot is always full. Yesterday we stopped in for an early dinner. I ordered linguini with clams in white sauce. It was superb! The dish arrived with 10 cherry stone clams atop an ample serving of linguine covered in a sauce brimming with chopped clams. My Husband ordered chicken Marsala, which he found tastefully prepared, but as an avid seafood lover, he was jealous of my choice. The only negative is their bread. I find most CT restaurants lacking in that area. I would prefer a crusty Italian or French bread be served. We definitely will return.

Been going here for 20 years with my daughters. Last time I went, the barmaid was so rude to my oldest, I will never return.

The TOT seems to be the place to go in Durham. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. We ate in the more formal side as opposed to the bar area which looked like a nice place to grab a beer and watch a game. I ordered the Cobb salad which is the biggest one you’ll find in Middlesex County. Service was good as well.

Last night was our(wife & myself) 1st experience at the tavern. My parents discovered this place a few months back, giving it rave reviews. So for my birthday the group of us decided to go. The atmosphere is great there is a bar side and a intimate dinning side with fireplace. We the staff was on point and perfect. Our server an absolute delightful lady. We started the evening off with some appetizers the Oysters Rockefeller and clams casino… completely outstanding best I have ever eaten. My meal, I chose the Filet Mignon Trio Eight oz. filet served with a trio of dipping sauces: Bearnaise, brandy-peppercorn demi-glacé, and horseradish cream… incredible and cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the Chicken Alecia Parmesan bread crumb-crusted boneless breast rolled with spinach, artichoke hearts and roasted garlic, drizzled with a lemon basil sauce. A restaurant favorite my wife said it was the most spectacular chicken she has eaten. My parents loved their plates: Lemon Basil Chicken & Baked Stuff Shrimp. Then we moved on to a our desserts from Crème brûlée, Chocolate mousse, & Italian lemon cream cake. What a delightful evening Great job. Well will be back soon

We went here tonight. I had french onion soup, which was good, and the Filet Oscar which for lack of a better description was a crab-tastophre! The steak was well cooked and good quality, the Bearnaise and mashed potatoes were also good, but the crab was horrible quality and actually SMELLED fishy. I scraped every bit of it off and I still have a queasy feeling in my stomach. My boyfriend felt the same way about his lobster pie — it looked and tasted gross so definitely don’t order that. I did sound very good, but it was absolutely nasty, with the most rubbery lobster I ever tried to chew. My only take-away from this is, that if you must go here, stay away from any seafood items on the menu. When we went here previously I ordered the filet trip — delicious and my boyfriend got a salad that he enjoyed very much. I would definitely go back again and just stay away from the seafood.

**NOTE: My 2-star rating is based strictly upon a late night visit to the bar only. The kitchen was already closed, and I cannot judge the food at all. We arrived to Time Out Tavern at about 9:15 on a Wednesday night. A sign at the front door had the kitchen hours, and we saw that they close at 9:30. As service industry workers, we of course we not going to ask for food or sit in the dining room. So we walked into the bar, and checked out the surrounding booths. As we were doing so, a grumpy looking waitress came out to tell us very loudly and rudely, «Kitchen’s closed! You can’t get food!» Oh boy. Now i really need a drink, and it better not be from that server. We sat at the bar as far away from her as possible. I thanked my lucky stars when a much nicer older woman came around behind the bar to take our orders. The atmosphere seemed nice, and at any other time, I’m sure this is a great place to enjoy a meal. I would love to give it another try when I am in the area.
