this particular one was bad. Beets were bland, salad dressing watered down, cauliflower had mold on it. at 1230 had to ask for rolls and desserts. just a bad experience all around

Ok it pains me to give it 3 stars because the food is so salty and bland, but it just has to be said that our kids frequently demand that they get to worship at the alter of the Chocolate Fountain of Golden Coral.

It’s 3:24pm and left overs of breakfast are still on trays. Almost half of the food recipients are empty. The food tastes old. This restaurant used to be a good place. I don’t recomended it at all. No wonder why this restaurant has many bad reviews.

I have been to other golden corral and i love the franchise so this is a let down for me. The food is pretty nasty, quality and tatse wise. There is no love put into the food. They just do it for the heck of it and not caring about the customer. The salad bar is not fresh, it looks like its just out of the bag not washed. This is worse than my highschool cafeteria.

In major need of renovations! Walking in the door the place looks old and run down. Staff diligently trying to keep the place clean… at least on the dining floor. They were constantly washing tables, carpet sweeping, etc. On the way to the bathroom I got a glimpse of the kitchen… and would have left immediately if I hadn’t already eaten! The bathrooms were dirty with 2 stalls clogged up and the other 2 with no toilet paper! The food was disappointing. Taste was fine, choices were far less than what I expected. The salad bar was a major disappointment! No labels on any of the dressings and choices weren’t what I remembered. Won’t be in any hurry to go back.

As a kid, I ate at Golden Corral often(in Maryland) and maybe because I was short, hungry and a little girl with no taste buds, I didn’t have any expectations. We had a party of 5 during lunchtime on a Friday and upon arriving, we weren’t sure where the line was/began. When we made our way to the register, the cashier told us to get our drinks, so we did. We were under the impression that lunch buffet which was $ 8.79 included drinks, but didn’t notice the fine print until after we were rung up. Had we known a drink would set us back $ 2.29, we wouldn’t have grabbed one. And it’s not about the $ 2… the drinks we received were all flat and refills came from questionable open pitchers from all directions of the restaurant. Golden Corral is a «buffet» and although they have lots of options to choose from(breakfast foods, salad, fried seafood, chinese, pizza, dessert, etc), the quality of the food was poor. You can see biscuits drying up, french fries getting limp and soup that hadn’t been stirred in hours. The«fruits» were soggy and I wondered how long they had been sitting out. I barely ate my $ 11.91 worth of food in fear of food poisoning. This location is outdated, the plates were different colors(to distract you from examining them for residue) and I’d be terrified to see how this food is made in the kitchen. I feel really bad for the waitresses here; its hard to give a tip on service when the food isn’t up to par, or even up to health standards. How can you give someone a 20% tip, and feel good about your visit when the Pepsi or Mountain Dew tastes diluted? Being that I’ve had Golden Corral dozens of times as a child and GC is a chain restaurant, I’d check out another location but would never return to this one. The cashier was on the phone with a prospective employee and overheard her saying the manager was out on vacation — maybe thats why the cooks were slacking? I will never know…

Today I grabbed a meal at the Golden Corral for the first time in almost twenty years; and while I won’t go rushing back any time soon, I’ll keep them in mind as an option for lunch when time is tight. We got there, grabbed a tray and a beverage, paid up front, and then were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We found a seat and left the trays on the table because the buffet stations don’t have those metal bar things to slide the tray on … so why have trays at all? They had a fairly nice variety of food. There was a pretty standard salad bar, a dessert bar, a variety of veggies and meats and some vaguely chinemexitalian ethnic dishes. I started off with the rice pilaf, some beef tips, a few popcorn shrimp, corn, and some string beans. I couldn’t tell much difference between the rice«pilaf» and regular rice, but it was fine. The beef tips were dry but the sauce was good. The shrimp was a bit heavy on the breading but good. The veggies were OK. I went back a second time to try the pot roast over some regular white rice, and grabbed a few fried okra and a small slice of fried green tomato. The pot roast was actually pretty darn good. The rice was good. The fried okra and green tomato were limp and tasteless. I left them on my plate. The young lady who serviced our table was very nice but the surroundings were anything but. This place has got some age on it. The drink dispensers are funky, the small melamine plates are beat up, the utensils are obviously stamped out of a sheet of metal, the napkins from the dispenser on the table are very thin and very small, there are signs missing from many of the buffet stations, and the seating all screams 1980s. Some of the tables are awkwardly close to the buffet stations and it looks like a lot of space at the entrance is weirdly dedicated to «crowd control». So, while this isn’t the place for a special event, it’s not a bad options if you just need to grab some grub and go.

The food at this place was awful. The manager was using his hands to put corn bread into the pan. We noticed this after we finished our meal and were leaving. We frequently go to Golden Corral restaurants for a quick good meal. Decide to try this one out since we were in Durham. Wish I had looked around at the food selection before I paid. The only thing that was good was the baked chicken and they just put it out. The waitress was non existent. I had to go to the register where you pay to get refills on our drink. And yes they are supposed to refill your drinks at the table. The carrots which i usually really enjoy, werent even cooked. We won’t be eating here again. Should have zero stars.

«OK buffet» It’s a chain buffet, so I’m not using a «fine dining» scale in my review here. Positives: + Convenient and easy. You know what you get here– pay as you enter, sit down, grab a plate, and eat. No waiting. + Service is fine. If your kid orders milk, you ask for it at the table, and they bring it to you(generally promptly). There’s someone helping in the dessert station by dishing out ice cream, making cotton candy for kids, etc., and again, they’re fine. + Many dishes are pretty good– fried shrimp is alright, decent salad bar and fruits, some cooked dishes are tasty. Lots of dessert selections that are good, including a chocolate fondue fountain. Temperature of food is dine(not sure why one reviewer said it’s «cold»). Negatives: — No dishes are«awesome» here(even the so-called«awesome pot roast», which is OK). Some dishes I even generally like are just«so-so» here(like their meatloaf). The steaks are a bit tough but taste alright. — Not cheap for weekend dinners, but I will note that a modest takeout plate is pretty cheap, and weekday dinner prices are OK. Synopsis: Not my favorite buffet in town, but I’m fine with going there periodically when the kids are hungry and want it. And even if some dishes aren’t great, it’s a buffet, so you can just get something else. You’re never«stuck» with a bad dish, since there are lots of dishes, and again, many of the dishes are pretty good.

I was visiting my brother over the Memorial Day weekend and we ate here. I have never eaten at a Golden Corral until then. I have to say it was awesome. You pay one price and it’s basically all you can eat. I was able to get a discount for my children and a senior citizen discount for my mom. They have so many choices in regards to food. There is a dessert station, salad station, meat and chicken station. There are even cooks creating things hot off the grill. You are also given a waitress who will refill your drink for you. You shall not be disappointed. It’s not fancy looking on the outside but the food is worth going in for. Enjoy! I do have one complaint. Why does Golden Corral advertise in NYC when there are no locations in the State of NY? Now that I have eaten there those commercials bug me.:)

Not a fan of buffets, but this place is okay and good if your dining party can’t decide on a cuisine.

Awww I just love this place. It’s a little slice of Southern heaven that never disappoints. Something for everyone to eat! If you find yourself in a group of people that can’t decide where to go, or you just want to indulge a LOT and lay your health concerns to the side for an evening, go here. Any Golden Corral is great, but this particular one is REALLY good. They have a much bigger selection than the other one I’ve gone to. The price is about $ 11 – 14 per person. Not bad for all that food! :)

I haven’t set foot in a Golden Corral in more years than I can count. I was at an all-day event in a nearby park, and the event organizers had reserved the private room here at GC for everyone to grab a bite to eat before heading home. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the offerings. I made myself a little taco salad, had a few items from the asian cuisine area, a few popcorn shrimp and a nice chunk of steak cooked to order just the way I like it. My cheddar biscuit was yummy, as was the soft-serve orange sherbet. The staff working the room kept everyone’s drink full and was nice and friendly. No, its not fancy dining, but what it offers is good food, reasonably priced with several options to eat as healthy(or otherwise) as you like. Probably my only real complaint is at buffets I tend to be a nibbler — taking lots of little bits of items that strike my fancy. Many of the items were prepared in smaller quantities — instead of large vats of food. While this is generally a good thing, one of the asian items I really enjoyed my taste of had been replaced by something else when I went back to that section of warmers. Oh well. I’d rather have fresh and hot, than plentiful and past its prime any day.
