Awesome food and atmosphere. Been to a lot of breakfast places in the triangle(Durham /Raleigh /Cary) and chapel hill, but this place is the best I have ever had. Very reasonably priced as well. Love it.

I had to try the red velvet waffles that I had heard about. They were all that they were cracked up to be. Nicely cooked and just crispy enough on the outside. The only downside is that the grits could have been hotter. Otherwise the service was great, sanitation rating high, lots of variety on the menu and otherwise a good place for breakfast! I’ll definitely be back.

Every single bite was better than the first!!! Um, YUM!!! My great friend and I shared the Red Velvet and Cookies and Cream pancakes and they were absolutely amazing. Not only was the food excellent, but the staff was friendly and attentive also. This will be one of my new favorite brunch spots for sure!

Super nice breakfast/brunch spot minutes from NCCU. The music selection is amazing. I go here for the red velvet waffles. They have many other unique flavors but the red velvet is my favorite. The sweet tea is the definition of REAL sweet tea. I just wish they made homemade home fries.

Came here for brunch. Waited 30 minutes for food after we ordered. The food was the kind that I could make waking up hungover on a Saturday morning, in 5 minutes. The waitress never came back to the table after we ordered — until i had to actively make intense eye contact and beg for some more coffee. In general, not worth going to.

This is a hidden gem mom-and-pop style restaurant. In a town with lots of restaurants charging an arm and a leg for Durham scene brunch/breakfast, this place has a crazy variety of foods that are really delicious and a very hospitable staff. Even better, it didn’t come with the overly high prices or long waits of some other popular Durham breakfast spots. We always are looking for good Sunday breakfast places — Nzingas did not disappoint. The shrimp and grits was SOGOOD and a huge portion. Also tried the red velvet pancakes which were light and cakey, gigantic(seriously, had to take half of it home), and super tasty. Then the salmon cake — a bit like a crab cake and a fun/new accompaniment to eggs. Huge menu with all the breakfast staples and a few twists.

This is such a hidden gem in Durham’s Fayetteville Street Corridor. I had brunch… all I can say is everything was absolutely delicious. I had the shrimp and grits(my Fav), red velvet waffles and the spinach/mushroom omelette! Whoa. Make this a must stop when in Durham!

Had breakfast here passing thru to Charlotte. I had the country ham hot plate with scrambled eggs, grits, and a side of fruit. The music was on point, walked into The Manhattans and left to Gladys. The food was good, like your grandma’s house good. If you don’t know what that means, I have no help for you. If you’re in these parts, try it.

Excellent food. Great service and the BEST Strawberry Lemonade anywhere. I’ve been there in several occasions and every time I’ve been more than satisfied. You Definitely should check it out.

Everything is great here I would recommend the Buffalo wings if your a wing lover! Especially for Wing fest Wednesdays(50 cent)! If your going for breakfast I would recommend the pancakes or the Shrimp and Grits which is awesome! This place has great food and great prices. I definitely will return to this Hidden Gem
