Food is OK… The veggies seem to have excess grease and they all kinda look and taste similar.

Great country cooking at a reasonable price. BBQ, fried chicken and lots of veggies. Really liked this place and will definitely be back.

All I know is Im a grown man and this food had me feeling like a little kid at my Grand Ma’s table on a Sunday after church! Everything was cooked with Love, and it was very noticeable with every bite! I wanted to take a picture of my plate to post but it looked and smelled so good, after I took a quick taste before saying grace, All I could focus on was gorging my way thru this beautiful plate. Even the fried Chicken looked like something out of a magazine, and tasted even better! Its not buffet, and I thought that would be a problem but after I chose what I wanted and sat down to eat, I realized my eyes were bigger than my stomach. If you can eat your plate wanting more, you are a good one cause they give a nice amount for your money! I cant wait to go back!!!

Despite being located in a strip-mall(which strips away some of the requisite dive-y feel that is so critical to BBQ), Olé NCBBQ is the real deal. I don’t know where they’re smoking their BBQ, but whoever is doing it knows what he/she is doing. The BBQ had excellent smokey flavor and the sides were perfect.

I ordered from Olé NC for an event at my office today and we were completely impressed with everything. Lets just say we had a little bit of everything… I got feedback from the entire office and everybody loved all the items… Highlights were the BBQ(extra sauce for me), the fried chicken, which was simply awesome, and the banana pudding. I don’t even like bananas and I still had a bowl and finished it. The staff was so accommodating and Ms. Faye is just the greatest… She cares about her business and it shows, from her service, to the excellence of her product. We will be coming back again!

Olé NC BarBQue has moved! They are no longer in the big building on the corner of Fairfield and N. Roxboro St. They are now in a small space facing Roxboro Street in the North Duke Crossing Mall. It looks like most of their business is from takeout orders or catering because they only have 4 or 5 tables for those who want to eat there. This is no longer a self-serve buffet. You step up to the spread and tell the man on the other side what you’d like. There aren’t as many choices as there were at the previous location, no salad bar and no desserts, but all the basics are there — BarBQue, chicken and dumplings, brunswick stew, fried chicken and a variety of veggies. You can get a meat and two sides with hush puppies for a little over $ 5. The food itself was OK … for the most part. The BarBQue was OK, the string beans were OK, but the mashed potatoes were kind of nasty. They were almost liquid… like a potato milkshake. I probably should have stopped the server when I saw how fluid they were on the spoon. My friend had the BarBQue, string beans and mixed greens. He reports that he thought everything was OK. Overall … Somewhere between«Meh» and«OK». I’m not sure I’ll go rushing back any time soon.

Last Sunday we arrived home with our family take out order, and had a tin full of wings and darkmeat chicken? Called it in to mgt. and after some time of discussing, and advising we would send pictures they messed up our order they agreed to replace chicken on next visit. Rest of order was mediocre, but consumable. Today we visited to pick up replacement chicken, and give the bbq etc another shot. We find out chicken has to be cooked, and they have no hushpuppies — no hushpuppies; are you kidding?! We are over Olé NCBBQ, not returning. So wish Hog Heaven was open on Sundays.

The worst BBQ in the triangle. Have been twice, each time worse than the last. Barbeque is gamey and gross, everything was cheap disgusting, mashed potatoes were from a powder, the desserts were awful cheap. Some of the food looked like it had been sitting in the warmer for five days, just dried husks of food I don’t know how they stay in business it is truly horrible. Fried chicken was OK, but sitting out too long. If you are forced, at gunpoint, to go to this horrible place, get the fried chicken. Better yet: just don’t go here. Patrick’s, the restaurant in this location previously, was SOMUCH better. Very sad.

Let me just say that NC barbecue isn’t my thing generally so I really struggled to even find something that looked appetizing. Even the salad didn’t look healthy. Other people really seemed to enjoy it though.

Well, we finally gave in to curiosity after living in North Durham for 3 years and having not tried this place… until now. People often refer to buffets as troughs. Well, this one comes complete with a salt lick. The $ 5.99 early bird buffet sounds alluring but trust me, don’t do it… unless you suffer from hyponatremia(low sodium in your blood). You will leave with hypertension and cotton mouth! 3 hours later and both my wife and I are still chugging water trying to quench our thirst! I’ll admit it is a cool building, and the staff was pleasant, but thats about it. If you are forced to eat here, they at least have a salad bar that was decent. You can do better. I promise.

There is no sincerer love than the love of barbecue. — George Bernard Shaw; I have eaten here a few times and I can say the the Eastern style of BBQ here is good, not the best, but good with a vinegary bite. In my most recent visit, I had the BBQ(chopped) & Brunswick stew combo with hushpuppies and 2 sides for $ 6.29. A very good value for the portions given. As for the sides, turnip greens & mac & cheese is what I asked for. The greens were good and mac & cheese was pathetic and not very cheesy. The hushpuppies were barely bigger than a child’s thumb. The Brunswick stew was very good as was the banana pudding which was still hot. Olé NCBBQ does have a buffet with BBQ and fried chicken. I have not eaten from the buffet. The décor reminded me of Grandma’s home. Quilts and flags on the walls along with pictures of Duke University and pigs other unique pictures of North Carolina. The outside of the building reminded me of a barn or a country home. Food B Staff C Décor B Location C Health Inspection Grade 90.5

I have been to olé nc several times in the past few years and I have to say that I have been disappointed more and more each time. Their bbq used to be some of the best in Durham but now it is simply okay. If you are looking for the best bbq in town this is not it, but I still give them 3 stars because as far as an all you can eat buffet their price is fairly cheap. If you are looking to eat a lot of decent food at a good price with good service this is the place but for good NC bbq I would try someplace else.

It is a sin to have salty BBQ. A sin I tell you. I felt like an animal in the forest looking for a salt lick. They have a buffet to give you even more variety of salt. Fried salt, mushy veggie salt and crunchy salt. Needless to say, I will not be returning…
