This was yet another enjoyable visit. There was a minor complaint but nothing that cannot be really corrected, once communicated. The lamb slider burger. Though the taste was good, it was wet. I may have been more upset if this was a to-go order. The bread would have been totally soggy Onto the good stuff. the turkey burger I got was very good. However, the belles of the ball were the onion rings. Amazing!!! That’s getting added to the rotation.

Like most places that don’t understand what well done is, this place gave me a burger with pink and some blood still in it. I don’t care at all if the cook thinks that’s not how you cook a burger or that it takes all the flavor out or whatever. If I say, «I’d like it cooked well done, no pink, no blood, burnt is fine,» which is how I always have to order burgers, then you better damn well cook it like that. I often can’t bother with burger places for this very reason. I don’t see Only Burger being the ONLY burger. I couldn’t eat it and it put me off the rest of my meal.

Only Burger just catered my wedding and now all my guests are fans! They were incredibly accommodating about what we needed, a last minute venue change, and serving in a torrential downpour. Everyone all night mentioned to me how delicious the food was. I mean I have never used Unilocal before in my life and changed my mind just to say how glad I was to use them. My only regret is that because of the downpour I couldn’t interact with and thank them personally more.

Cozy atmosphere and the local vibe really makes this place unique. The burgers are top notch. Especially the Carolina Burger. It’s messy but melts in your mouth! One of my top 5 burger choices in the Triangle! Will definitely return a.s.a.p!

Definitely one of the better burger places in the Triangle. I ordered the Texan and my patty was cooked exactly how I wanted it — Medium rare. This is already a plus in my book because most burger places tend to overcook the patty. My bun was pretty soggy though but it was probably because I got it to go and it had been sitting in the foil for about 15 minutes. That was the only turn off for me. Everything else in the burger was great, the brisket had great flavor and the onion ring wasn’t soggy. Also should note. I went with a group of people and everyone loved the burger they ordered!

In town March 5 with family to see The Lion King at DPAC and naturally looked through Unilocal for lunch suggestions. Settled on OnlyBurger for proximity, price, and the recommendations. Wife had the famous Fried Green Tomato burger and the boys and I ordered a la cart. Overall burgers were good, filling & tasty. Service was nice and quick. We ordered both fries and onion rings(way too much food) and the fries were much better. Rings just didn’t have the flavor for the amount of work & description. Prices were a little high for 4 burgers and fries(water only as usual). Rating really about a 3.5, good but if we had stayed in town longer, we would have sampled other places on our list.

Average at best. I thought the sliders were rather bare bones, creativity wise. The fries were not bad but a little oily for my taste.

First time I liked it, this time it was so so. I had lamb burger both times and this time it was lacking in flavor.

This is not a fancy burger place. A former food truck, they specialize in good, fresh burgers served quickly. Burgers are delicious, with special creative options and many of my friends are fans of the pickle chips and jalapeños poppers. They’ve recently started serving breakfast as well until 10:30 in their downtown location. Silver Dollar pancakes, egg sandwiches, hash Browns… So good! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit of you’re interested in a great burger!

I’m out sure if it was Opposite Day at Only Burger but I had a very different opinion on this place than most reviewers. We took our family here to try the burgers and of course for me to get my hands on a veggie burger since I don’t eat Red meat. The veggie burger was so gross. I mean, grosser than Morningstar patties gross. They were obviously premade and I’m sure ive had this patty at other places, it was very disappointing and did not live up to the expectations I had based on other vegetarian reviews. I ended upthrowing a good half of it away. My daughter got a double hamburger with bacon and said it was very bland and the patty was flavorless. She’s not a picky eater so have to trust her assessment, One of my other kids ordered a grilled cheese. It arrived on a hamburger bun with processed cheese. I felt so bad I offered to order something else. My husband had the frito burger which he said was ok. Nothing to write home about but he definitely liked his better(relatively) than the rest of us. We figured we’d order the home made ice cream sandwiches to try to salvage this experience which ended up just throwing good money at bad as they were very marginal. They were a bit to cooked on the bottom and tasted very factory made. They didn’t finish theirs either. The place itself was pretty cramped and uninviting with glaring lights, blaring music and just an uncomfortable place to eat. They don’t have trays so you just eat your burger on some tin foil. This started out as a food truck and should probably just stay that way. Though I would be pissed if I stood in line at a food truck rodeo and got this crap.

I’m giving this place a one star instead of 2 because 1. I need to even out the reviews and 2. They used comic sans on the wrappers. The burger had no taste at all and the rest of my family is thoroughly disappointed in the food. My brother got a grilled cheese sandwich and it was American cheese, burnt bacon, and a bun. The service was not exceptional or let alone very good. The music was played way too loud and I couldn’t hear what people were saying. The home made ice cream sandwiches were not very good. Basically just slightly burnt cookies and store bought ice cream. It was a little weird that everything was in paper bags and wrapped up in tin foil. Overall this place sucks!

Best burger place in the triangle, for me. The burgers are really good, and then I tried the lamb slider which I like even better! You can customize or order one of their creations. I usually get the combo with a drink and fries, and create my own burger. Of their creations the Mediterranean is my favorite. Their fries have some very good seasoning. The onion rings and dipping sauce are good. Haven’t tried dessert. There are some good burger places in the area, but this is probably the only one I would drive out of my way to go to because it’s so good!

I only eat the veggi burger which is great. My family eats the regular ones and they always love it. This place defines the local Durham food: great quality, great service, and very reasonable price.

Best burger I’ve had in a long time! I highly recommend the mushroom melt, and the pickle chips. Service is very polite and speedy. Quality of food is superb for a very reasonable price. They also have a nice variety of boylans craft soda and beers. 10 out of 10 I would recommend this place to friends and family!

My favorite burger joint. :) My husband and I come here at least once a month. Service is casual and more suited towards lunch. Very relaxed atmosphere. The Bacon and Blue burger is my favorite and is always on point. My husband can’t say no to the Fried Green Tomato burger. Everything is fresh and delicious. I’m so glad they have two standing locations or I would have to stalk their food truck. ;)

Best burger in town hands down, with amazingly crunchy and well salted French fries. I ordered the Greek lamb burger which was delicious — feta cheese, tomatoes, yogurt sauce and caramelized onions, super yummy! My husband had the bacon, Swiss, onion burger and we were both in burger heaven. Worth going out of your way for.

Continues to serve some of the best burgers and fries. The Carolina Burger is still my favorite, with Bacon & Blue and Mushroom Melt close behind. For a twist on Hamburger with cheese, try it topped with their pimento cheese.

As some of you may have already heard, the Famous Fried Green Tomato Burger at Only Burger is a must-try, and yes, it is as amazing as people say! It is a burger with fried green tomato, egg, and pimento cheese. There are some free add-ons you can include such as grilled onions(which I opted for), jalapeño, and more. The burger was cooked perfectly. I believe their standard is medium well unless you specify otherwise. The food truck does not have as many burger choices as the restaurant but it does offer turkey and veggie options in addition to their specialty Famous Fried Green Tomato Burger and Carolina Burger. Can’t wait to try their restaurant location!

My husband and I were looking for a good burger place in our city of Durham & by God we found it. The cashier who I can only assume was the owner was incredibly friendly and patient. We ordered two double burgers that had just about every topping on the menu(mine had age extra sharp cheddar, bacon, grilled onion, guacamole, Dijon, lettuce, tomato and pickles. My husband got the same minus the tomato but adding jalapeños, ranch and chipotle sauce). Along with the mammoth burgers we got onions rings, fries and bacon wrapped Mac & cheese. Our food came out in ten minutes. Everything was AMAZING! The onion rings were outrageously crispy and came with delicious chipotle ranch. The fries were fresh, crispy and not oily in the least. Everything was clearly house made and delectable. The people who are complaining about price clearly aren’t on the market for the fresh, local and utterly delicious offerings of only burger or are extremely provincial and should stick to cook out trays. We spent $ 30 for our entire meal including drinks & it was worth every penny. We’re definitely returning.

Went as part of a food tour and had a slider and fries. Above average inexpensiveish burgers($ 5 before cheese). The beef is good quality and served more rare than the average fast casual burger(which I like). The bun is also fresh baked(not on the premises) which really makes a difference. The cheese that came on the slider was run of the mill american, but I was assured that there are many other cheeses to choose from. The fries were soft, thin, potatoey, and hand cut but were somehow underwhelming and did not really add to the overall score. As a food truck, Only Burger is a really solid 4 possibly a 5 because it is hard to find a better food truck burger and fries. The issue with the brick and mortar Only Burger is that it has to be compared to other brick and mortar stores. For example, An Only cheese burger with fries is $ 8. From Rue Cler however you can get a much better burger(especially if you like rare burgers) with fancy cheese and better fries or green salad f or $ 10. So for a super basic burger for $ 5 and under, or the best food truck in town, Only Burger is a place to try. But if you are in the mood to fork out $ 10 for a burger and fires there are better sit down options.

Went in for lunch last week and, as usual, the food was fantastic. I really can’t say enough about their food. It’s always quick and freshly made, the staff is always friendly and helpful when you can’t choose between all the delicious options. It’s a simple platform, but it WORKS.

Great sandwich. I enjoyed every wholesome bite. The service was fast and accurate. Posh setting that was kid friendly. Awesome ‘comfort food’ if you are at all like me… you will have to add a couple extra miles to your next run though. That’s my only observation(con) calories can pile on easily at cool place like this, that cooks to your exact order!

Best Veggie Burger in Triangle Area. I love burger, but being a vegetarian, it is difficult to find good bean/potato burger. I tried«Only Burger» veggie burger 2 years ago and now I make sure that I visit them once a month, though I stay 25 min away.

Cole slaw on a burger Carolina In the mood for a burger and Only was highly regarded so checked it out. The building was small, seating was limited, and the line was almost out the building(out the building later). I went for the carolina burger and bacon wrapped mac and cheese. The bacon wrapped mac was fun, but not at all mindblowing. The carolina burger was a huge piece of beef with cole slaw underneath that made the bun soggy. It was a nice burger but sloppy. Worth a try, but not in my burger hall of fame.

This is the«Only Burger» I tried in Durham and I would be fine if this was the only burger place I was left to eat in this world. Because this burger joint was all around amazing for so many reasons! Since I was so hungry, I ordered more than I could handle: Famous friend green tomato burger(with added mushrooms) — oh my God for 7.15 this burger punched in so much flavors. They do tell you their burgers are red in the middle, but this made it even more delectable and juicy. The layering of pimento cheese, fried egg(yum), fried green tomato. more yum.Let me repeat fried green tomato was just a wonderful explosion in my mouth! The addition of the mushrooms was also such a great suggestion from the cashier! Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned! The Texan — so so so so so good! Still prefer the fried tomato burger, but the au jus and Onion in this burger are such great additions. Bacon wrapped mac and cheese squares — if you’re a fan of bacon as much as I am, you will freaking love these! The combination of warm macaroni and bacon is a little salty yet sinfully pleasing! Wish there were more than two because I could eat this all day! Sampler(fried green tomato, pickle, onion ring) — for a little more than 4 dollars, I don’t think this is worth it, but the fried green tomato and pickles are addicting. Especially with the chipotle mayo and ranch. These are definitely addicting combos. The onion rings were regular onion rings, but would suggest this if you love a variety. French fries — perfectly cooked and salted. My friend acted as if these were the best in his life! Overall, the venue is kind of small, but there is also outside seating. A burger and fries is only 10 dollars so this would be a perfect affordable lunch or dinner meal! I also loved their selection of sodas and alcohol. The staff was also really nice and informative, also great humor. Also huge brownie points, I loved how they played tempted to touch in the background while I was eating!!! Can’t wait to visit again!

Wow, there aren’t enough adjectives to explain the goodness I experienced today at lunch at Only Burger. I peeped the menu online prior to my arrival, so I already knew I wanted the Philly burger & fried pickles. Upon arriving, there was a small line of about three people, but the employee quickly got their orders & I was able to make mine. And hoorah for Boyland sodas! I got a grape one. I didn’t wait but about five minutes or so & a happy employee brought my food to the table. Glorious fried pickles! They were thick & crunchy, under the delicious seasoned battered costing. The chipotle mayo was so good, too. The burger … whoa. Think of a Philly cheesesteak as a burger. The oooohy melted cheese, yum! The burger was cooked medium well & was juicy. The bun was soft. Prices are reasonable & parking is easy! I’ll definitely be a regular customer.

Had a delicious meal here one Friday afternoon while exploring Tobacco District with my husband. We were sadly disappointed at our first choice of restaurants & actually got up after reading great reviews about only burger. The location is a little further outside of the District area but still easy to find. The shop seems like it is inspired from a food truck. We tried the sampler which was a lot for the price. A basket of fried goodies you’d find at your local state fair. I has a lamb slider which hit the spot for my light appetite. &, u husband was torn between the daily special & the Philly steak burger. The drink selection is comparable to any convenient store & the service was quick & friendly. We would love to comeback again if we’re in the area.

I have been to this Only Burger a lot over the years and there food and service is always great. Their burgers aren’t the best I’ve ever had, but very close. I just really like their creative menu items, high quality ingredients, and attention to detail. They have plenty of toppings so you can have just about any burger you can think of made for you, and they do cook temps on em too. They have a good variety of specialty burgers, the Carolina is my favorite so far, their chili is pretty good as are their chili cheese fries. Their guacamole and pimento cheese are very tasty, so try those on a burger sometime. I enjoy the sides here too, there is nothing special about their fries but the fried green tomatoes and onion rings are awesome. The fried pickles are ok, they are just a little too thick for me, but the chili mayo they give you is great on anything, definitely try that. I got their Jumbo Jalapeño popper once, it is huge and pretty tasty, its just wrapped in bacon instead of bring breaded, so good though!
