Stayed two nights to visit with family, beds were less than double should have been advertised as Twin beds. Rooms stunk of frankincense – lavatory area was enough to give you claustrophobia. Though I rented the rooms via a discounted site these rooms seemed to have been infested with some type of pest that bit my wife severely enough to cause welts to form on her back, arms and neck. Parking was a nightmare to get in and out of the rooms. I wouldn’t recommend this Inn to anyone I should have just stayed at the Holiday Inn down the road as the price was a bit higher but a lot safer in the long run. I wish I had looked at the other reviews before booking.

Only good thing I have to say? The woman at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful when we asked to cancel our reservation after seeing the room. She let us cancel all three nights even though we arrived after nine on the first night of the reservation and refunded the entire charge. Why did we cancel? Bugs. Several. Smell of the room. Horrible. Bed spread? Holes that looked like they could have been from cigarettes… I could go on. Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever stayed(well, I guess we didn’t stay), and I’ve stayed in some pretty disgusting hostels. Spend the extra 40 bucks a night and stay somewhere safe and clean.

Not as bad as I thought. This is review is for two separate rooms.(105&108). 105: The room smelled great. The sheets were clean, and we were provided with the correct amount of towels & washcloths. Housekeeping arrived daily, around 9:30. The only complaints I have about this room were that the lamp on one side of the bed went out on the second day. Almost all provided towels had red or yellow stains. Gross! Also, their furniture(drawers) are a bit run down, & have paint chipping off, but it is a Super 8 people. I honestly expected worse. 108: The room smelled AWFUL. My mother had to go out & buy candles and scent plug-ins to hold her down for the next few days. Also, this was a NSMR, but there were cigarette burns on the sheets. Now, I know sheets are washed & not specifically assigned to a room, but if a sheet/towel is damaged… GETRIDOFIT!!! Room 108 did not have an iron, so we had to go back & forth between rooms to share it. Lastly, housekeeping ladies need to respect the customer’s sleep. They are screaming & laughing by 7am without considering that the main reason people are at the motel is to SLEEP! Please control this, mngmt. Oh! SKIPTHECONTINENTALBREAKFAST. It’s awful. There’s a McDonald’s down the street.

You get what you paid for. I am not saying this is the best place to stay in but on paper, it’s a steal at $ 40/night. It’s close to Duke University. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room otherwise clean with a fridge/freezer and microwave. I actually left before the fourth night. This is not a place to go if you have an aversion to tobacco smoke. Despite being a «nonsmoking room» it reeks of tobacco smoke and the invisible fumes appear to eminate from the rooms below and quite possibly from the check-in front desk counter person too. This is two star quality but what gives it the three star level was the front person girl understanding my plight and allowing me to check out early despite pre-paying everything. I hope they get the nonsmoking room problem fixed.

If you’re following Kanan Across America( ) the way you should be, then you know that I stayed at a lot of Motel 6’s, but when I found myself in North Carolina I decided to treat myself to a Super 8 stay. This location delivers on all the things you should expect from a Super 8: Clean room, comfortable bed, and, most importantly, cable TV with Comedy Central. It earned that extra star because I had a very quiet night in a part of town that didn’t look so quiet to say the least, also the good folks at the front desk allowed me to check out late b/c I was EXHAUSTED. I had a very nice stay here at a very reasonable rate.

Not a safe place. Run-down area of Durham, exterior corridor, lots of Mexicans in groups who decided to hang out for extensive periods of the night by my car. The tenants looked homeless. This is one of those rare places where I will forfeit a couple hours of convenience and $ 100 for a nicer place. It was not even convenient to UNC as the exits on US-15 were completely confusing. Never again.
