Unh Bookstore

Do not go to the UNH bookstore.
They have the highest prices on textbooks, and are terrible communicators.
Twice they have been out of stock of a textbook I needed (including one I preordered!) and were not very helpful about it.
I had the experience of pre-​ordering a book (as they recommended), then having it not arrive on time. They said they had just sold out their shelf copies. Wait… I pre-​ordered and paid and you got in stock of the books and did not contact me or reserve one for me? Well, they said they would have the book by the begining of next week (Monday). It was Wednesday, so I figured I could survive.
Monday, no book. Tuesday, no book. Wednesday I cancel the pre-​order and bought the book at the Durham Book Exchange (which is a great store). I noticed that my card had not been refunded, so I figured that will happen eventually. Wednesday, the next week I get a telephone call that the book is in. I explain the situation and they just keep telling me that the book I ordered is in. So I thank the employee and come in in person to resolve this.
I was told that (contrary to what I was informed on my last visit) it was impossible to cancel an order. After a lot of attempts to sell me this book that I patiently explained I no longer had any use for two weeks into the semester, I started an «ok what can we work out here» conversation. The employee just chastised me about «poor planning» (I pre ordered…). Ok, she must be having a bad day. I just tell her I am not interested in buying the book. «You already did when you pre-​ordered». She then starts trying to hand me this book. «ok, well I would like to return this book»
I have not even touched this book, but a refund is impossible. Eventually when I start threatening to call my bank and call fraud she agrees to give me store credit only refund. I walked out of there with a Barnes and Noble gift card because getting a real refund was not worth dealing with these people a moment longer.
So, terrible service, bad prices. You can get anything they have there cheaper downtown.

The UNH bookstore has a good selection and the staff is pretty helpful. Overall, reasonable prices.
