Dwight Pizza

Dwight Pizza is my favorite place to stop on my drive from St Louis to Chicago. The owner and everyone who works there are great. Really enjoyed their sandwiches and pizza, and the chef salad is a healthy and delicious option.

Dwight pizza is great. It’s good old fashioned super cheesy and greasy delicious pizza. My husband and I have pizza every Friday. We live in the Chicago area but are from St. Louis. When we leave to go south after work on Fridays we wait til we get out of chicago craziness and stop at dwight pizza. They are fast reasonably priced and tasty. Sometimes we eat in sometimes we take it to go. If you are eating in get the cheese balls. Yum.

MITerrible greasy food dirt and who knows what else was in the ice. Had to dump and refill cup couple times with ice and still had to pick stuff out. Imagine what was in the fountain drink lines… bad time management with call in orders takes an hour to get an order of frozen prepackaged mini tacos delivered. Not to metion their «famous taco salad/​pizza» is made with CANNED taco beef from GFS or some similar store. Explains why it taste so nasty.

Very very friendly staff! Love the fact that you can get your own fountain refills. And rc cola on fountain? Yes, thank you! Pizza was ok tasting, not a fan of the sauce. Cheesy garlic bread is yummo! Small eat in area. Would go back.

I’ve eaten here at least 5 times and have yet to be disappointed myself. The portobello beef, chicken bacon ranch, chicken and garlic calzone are all I’ve eaten here so far and they were all great! Very good customer service! What more can you ask for. If I’m ever passing through Dwight, I am definitely eating here!

Great food! I often order lunch and sometimes dinner from here and I have yet to have something bad. Obviously they are known for their pizza but they make great sandwiches (Italian beef, chicken Parmesan, chicken bacon ranch, and the Lesliolia) great salads, and have a fantastic beef roll. Make sure to get an order of their Bosco sticks too!

If I had to sum up Dwight Pizza in one word, it would be FRIED. Chicken strips, cauliflower, corn dogs, mushrooms, onion rings, fries… all FRIED. It’s the perfect menu for a teenaged boy.
If you do pop in and want to try something a bit different, the Lesliola sandwich or beef roll would be your best bet.

Not sure why people rate a 4 when they say everything is great, but I will give it a 5 star rating. The pizza is excellent with a thin crust and prepared just the way you want. The employees are always nice and wanting to make sure you have everything you want and just the way you want. The décor is kind of a tribute to the local sports and local residents who have gone on to continue their dream in the athletic field. Small place with seating for approximately 25 with a t.v. for you to watch if you so desire. I love the idea of having the pop counter so we could get our own refill when we wanted and not have to bother or wait for someone (as I hate having to bother a waitress just for a refill when they are busy). Stop in when you are near Dwight (Exit 217 on I55 — located behind Burger King) for excellent pizza, Italian Beef, or Chicken Sandwiches.

Locally owned business that treats the customer like family. Great pizza, beef sandwiches, chicken parm sandwich & onion rings.
My family travels to Chicago frequently and have been stopping in at Dwight Pizza for several years now. We typically phone ahead, stop for our order & eat in the car but we have eaten at the restaurant. Very clean establishment, nice bathrooms & friendly mom/​pop owners. Community events posted throughout the place so it’s obvious these folks support their neighbors & school teams.
Most recently we called 20 min before they closed and asked if it was too late to place a carry out order. «Nope, we will wait for you» was their response. We arrived with two minutes to spare and were greeted like we were family. Our food was hot and delicious and we were given plenty of napkins and paper plates.
These folks know how to run a business & serve it up right. Forget McDs or Subway, stop in at Dwight Pizza for a tasty Chicago snack when your traveling along I55.

Great deep dish pizza

I ordered an 8″ deep dish garlic pizza with mushrooms. They delivered it very quickly and did a GREAT job! Nice, gooey cheese, great flavor, great sauce, and fresh mushrooms!
I was able to pay with my card over the phone which is nice, a lot of small town restaurants don’t do that.
I highly recommend this place!

Really good pizza and sandwiches here. I’m a fan of the Lesliola. It’s an Italian style sandwich. All the food here is fresh, which is something a lot of places just don’t do. Fresh food cooked to order is the way to go, and you’ll get that here.

Called ahead for lunch. Order was fast and food was great. Staff was outstanding. Breaded tenderloin was one of the best I’ve had. Others said the Italian beef was great also. Will definitely come back if in the area again.

The pizza here was really good. Loved the sauce and cheese. Prices were reasonable and the two guys working there were both really nice dudes. I’m not from Dwight, but if I ever find myself in the area I would eat at Dwight’s pizza again.

I’ve eaten here a handful of times, once dining in with friends, and the others have been carry out. Each time has been during eveng hours. Overall it’s a good pizza joint. We really like their thin crust. Prices are average, quality is good.

Pizza is alright. It is overpriced for what it is. Make sure you eat it there. Delivery will take a long time. Make sure you check out the other items on the menu. Not much sitting room inside. Not for large groups.
