I needed to pick up some items on a bridal registry and didn’t want to spend a ton of time walking around, so I looked on-​line. One thing that bugs me about BBB is you have to walk all the way around the store for what you need. That’s me though — sometimes I like to browse, sometimes I’m tasky. This day, I was in a tasky mood.
I was pleasantly surprised you are able to check the availability of the registry items on-​line at each store. I was even happier when I was able to have them set the items aside for me pick up later in the day!
When I arrived, the items were locked up and ready to be rung up. Then I got free gift wrapping and everything!
The whole process took under 15 minutes and I walked out a Happy Shopper. This will be my mode of bridal registry shopping going forward.

There is a Family Guy episode that has a spoof on Bed Bath and Beyond and I think about it every time I enter one of their stores. It makes me laugh and then my smile fades as my attention is drawn to item after item. How can you be assaulted by things that are not moving??? and yet I feel assaulted by mountains of stuff every time I go in to any of these stores. It’s like you are walking down a hallway but the walls are made of pillows and shams and lemon zesters and magnified light up mirrors and Halloween candy and scented candles and mixers and paper towels to use for your guests in the bathroom and massage chairs and gourmet sea salt and art work for your walls… ARGH! Stop it already!
I am also disconcerted that I can forget which city I am in when I enter a Bed Bath and Beyond. Having stopped at one on the way to a wedding on the road to Memphis last year I can tell you that they are all hauntingly similar. So really the only thing I can say to differentiate this Bed Bath and Beyond from the others I have entered was that their was pretty good customer service. I ran into one friendly sales person on the floor who made sure to greet me but didn’t slow me on my mission. And when I approached the register the person on duty up there greeted me — stopped working and rang me up. He also asked if I needed any gift receipts — which was funny to me as I was buying a box of candles and that tweezy thing I saw on an infomercial. Can you imagine? The card on that gift would read — Your house smells bad and you are furry. Happy Birthday. (Ok — It was funny to me.)
Anyway… I would say the customer service here was pretty darn good and I will shop this Bed Bath and Beyond again.
