We ordered two end tables from the ship to store service with the promise that they usually arrive within 7 days and absolutely by 12 days. It has been 15 days and they still have not arrived. We paid more than $ 600 in advance for our purchase. The store has made no attempt to contact us and I have reached out to them and tonight finally stopped in to the store. The sullen employee huffed at the other employee and walked over to shrug her shoulders at me and say that the truck still had not arrived because it’s cold she guesses. She said some weeks the truck comes and some weeks it doesn’t and that she really doesn’t know why.

We stopped in on a Sunday night about 30 minutes to close time. There were several people standing behind the counter — and yet not a single hello from anyone. We were in the store for 15 minutes — on a search for new garbage baskets and scoping out lamps and tables. Not a peep from any of the sales staff. I actually made eye contact with them twice thinking — is something wrong? Did we walk in to an inventory or something? Nope. The sales people made and broke eye contact and we never had a single hello. It was weird. I had actually been avoiding stopping in at the Pier 1 near my work because I had heard they had really aggressive sales staff there. So to stop in at this place and to be not just not helped but blatantly ignored was kind of shocking. There were a few items that caught my eye in the store, but none of them ended up being right for us. They had a sweet pair of owl salt and pepper shakers — but the holes on top were to large so they would be more for decoration rather than use. We had two baskets in hand for using as garbage baskets but ended up putting them back as well since they had rough bottoms that would mar our wood floors. We enjoyed digging through the items in the store — but the sales staff was so unwelcoming it was hard to enjoy the experience. Funny — I normally LOVE being ignored by a sales staff and have left many stores when the sales people are too aggressive, but this was so far it’s opposite that I really felt like we were intruding in the space and like the sales staff were just waiting for us to leave. It was uncomfortable and I am still kind of feeling ick about it.
