Not a bad spa, and I’ll go again — but they could improve a few key things! We tried out this spa because our favorite spa — Fusion Life Spa in Deephaven — is now an hour drive away. Solimar is much closer. The better half and I both got a mud wrap, a vichy shower, and a massage. Getting there… It’s in a nondescript office building shared with other businesses. None of them are very well labeled. The building though, is clearly numbered. So look for that. A 3 or 4 story office building and look for the address. Then swing around back to the parking lot and go in. I was looking for a Solimar sign. Once I looked for the address instead I found it right away. When we arrived, we were taken to locker rooms to change into robes. The mens locker room was smaller and had a single shower stall and toilet. I had to wait for a gentleman that was already in there to finish showering before I could go change. The ladies locker room had 3. After changing into our robes we were brought to a waiting area and given warm towels. The waiting area was like a nicer doctors office. There was nice plush furniture and a small beverage area with tea and water. However, other people were also sitting there. People who weren’t receiving service but were waiting for a girlfriend or wife to finish up. They were on their cell phones yammering away or playing video games. It sort of ruined the relaxing atmosphere. By contrast, at Fusion LifeSpa the waiting area is a zen relaxation area with a fire and only the clients about to receive service are permitted back there. It’s much more relaxing than Solimar. Solimar really needs a separate non-client waiting area out front and should reserve the back area for clients. We both did the same services, but we did them in reverse order from each other… i. e… when she did the wrap I did the massage. I think she got the better end of the deal. I would recommend doing the wrap before the massage. Both were incredible though. I really like the mud wrap and Vichy shower. The masseuse scrubbed me with this glove — like an oven mitt — that was coarse like a pumice stone. It felt really amazing. Then put mud on me and wrapped me in one of those mylar space blankets for a while. Then she washed all the mud off. She missed a couple spots that I found when I was towel drying once she left the room. Not a big deal, but sorry about the dirty towels guys! I sure did just wipe it off on them. I wasn’t going around muddy! The massage was very nice. The rooms could benefit from having some insulation added between them. I get the impression it’s just framed drywall with no filler between the walls. I could hear muffled sounds from the adjoining rooms. After a while though I just fell into the rhythm of the massage and the music and the rest sort of drifted away. It was nice. The masseuse also used different scented essential oils. One of them in particular really opened up my airways and I felt I could breathe and relax much deeper after it. Overall, It’s a very nice place. Just a few rough spots that they could work out. I’ll definitely be back though!

My boyfriend and I decided to go for a couples massage Solimar because they offer the couples massage in the same room. We had trouble finding the location its a bit hidden and there really isn’t a large sign pointing the place out(i even used my GPS on my Blackberry without having much luck) 10min late for our appointment we decided to just give the place a call and ask for directions she was pretty helpful because we did find the place 1min after calling. They gave us our robes and let us relax in the waiting room, all the lockers were full for the mens so my boyfriend ended up giving me his items to store in a womens locker room. The massage was great, I had my own masseuse while my bf had his own they both let us know what to expect from the massage and it was very relaxing without soft music playing in the background. It was the perfect amount of pressure and she kept asking if it was alright or if i wanted more. My bf on the other half did not like his massage too much because of its lacking of pressure. afterwords we were allow to relax with hot towel wraps in the waiting room once again and let to change to leave for the world. one star off for my bf alright experience because of the locker and the lack of pressure on his massage.

After their amazing massages, I get nervous that I will lose the the«relaxed» feeling that it just makes me all tense again! What the heck?! Anyway, make sure they give you the rightsized robe. I made the mistake of keeping my mouth shut the first time and was so uncomfortable because my hoo-hah was center-stage doing a peep show. Trust me, ladies and gentlemen, this is not THAT kind of massage parlor… Talking about massages, don’t bother with the fancy mud baths, hot stones, or ayurvedic treatments. Stick to the basic deep-tissue massages; that’s the way to go! And don’t be nervous about telling the masseuse to not be as gentle. When you’re done, take your time in the waiting room with magazines, your neck wrap, and water. Also, you get a 10% discount if you schedule a future appointment that day. It’s an amazing place, but sometimes I wonder if they really continue massaging me when they see that I’ve passed out from deep relaxation… Maybe they just come back an hour later to wake me up.

I love going to Solimar for my beauty needs. Brita gives a great cut and her head massages are the best. I also bring my teen daughter and my four year old daughter here for their hair cuts. My teen is kinda edgy, and Brita makes her very happy. So, a lot of versatility between Mom, little one, and teen girl. Always satisfied with the service. They also carry some of the best beauty products you can find. They support local vendors too.
