I find it hard to find my Private stock in most liquor stores. I walked in and asked the man behind the counter if they have it and he said sure let me show you where it is. He walked me there and we had a short and pleasant conversation and off I went. They have a great selection of liqour and good custmoer service!

They had exactly what I needed when I needed it. I was looking for some bourbon in order to complete a recipe. They were able to help me find what I needed, and I was able to get it in a small quantity. The clerk who was working that day was able to answer all of my questions. He was very helpful. This is a fun place to visit around the holidays because they have lots of fun gift sets with free swag. Another benefit of the gift sets is that they are very easy to wrap. If you are looking for something obscure, this establishment might not carry it. Other places to look would be the co-op wine store and Whole Foods.

I never thought there’d come a day when I’d extol the virtues of a state-run liquor store, but having experienced the grisly aftermath of supporting privatized liquor sales in Washington State first-hand(and I was a big supporter — Big Mistake number 28347612), it’s heartwarming to know that there are places left on earth where I don’t have to sell my first-born and her trike in order to finance the purchase of a case of Grey Goose. This store hits you in the crotch like any other state-run liquor store, except it appears newer and better run than most. Well stocked in the basics, but perhaps not of the more«exotic» liqueurs. There are the monthly«discounts» on various brands, and as I browsed the place, my nostalgia for the«good ‘ol days» of government-run liquor stores in Washington state came rushing back in the form of black outs and beer breath. However, unlike the state run liquor stores I’ve been to before, this one is not staffed with recovering alcoholics. In fact, it was absolutely refreshing to find a clerk who was super excited about my request for a bottle of Cachaca — Brazilian rum, most commonly found in a Caipirinha.(Nice alternative to a traditional margarita.) The store carried only one pricier brand. After checking the system, the clerk located one in a store closer to my place. He even suggested one Brazilian restaurant in town(the only one) who purchased the liqueur in huge quantities for their drinks. In fact, his enthusiasm and sincerity made ME feel like the recovering alcoholic. This store is quite tucked away and difficult to find on the corner of State and Horseshoe. If in the area, worth a stop. Mess with the clerk and request another bottle of Cachaca.
