Average hoping for more from Downtown Eagle. Looks like it is no longer in business. The new business is unknown.

Had the Cedar Plank Salmon tonight and it was AMAZING. Been here twice and both times the food and service was great.

Something’s happenin’ here, What it is is exactly clear, There’s a brand new owner over there, Tellin’ me… OK. I’ll stop. One star update today for good stuff implemented since the last visit. With more visits to gauge consistency, four stars on the horizon. NEWGUYS If you’re old enough or enough into ‘in the day’ great rock to recognize the review opening take off on an old Buffalo Springfield song, you’re going to love the music on the sound system here. As we ate lunch we got to enjoy Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin(yes, yes one can too enjoy Janis) and others. But what we most enjoyed was the sense right as we walked in the door that something had happened for the better since our last visit. And sure enough, when we asked we learned a new owner as of November and also a new manager in the house(or perhaps a return to a former good manager) and even a new cook in the kitchen. WARMVIBE&SERVICE Everything was sparkling clean and the fireplace was on on a cold afternoon, but even warmer than that ambiance was the greeting we received at the door as we were offered a seat by a friendly woman who would also be our server. Same step up booths around the perimeter of the room and standard height tables and chairs in the mid part of the dining room. So in that regard nothing has changed, but in the sense of feeling welcome and well cared for everything was different. Our server was friendly and efficient, checked in with us at just the right times and knew the menu to answer our questions. MENU&FOOD The menu is almost exactly the same as before(see previous review), hence three stars and not four. But what we ordered from it was tasty this time. Jalapeño cheese soup of the day was served piping hot and seasoned just right. The greens on the house salad were garden fresh and the house made citrus vinaigrette was delicious. The chipotle BLT($ 10) sandwich was served on big pieces of perfectly toasted sourdough, with fresh green leaf lettuce, ample tomatoes and lots of chipotle bacon plus ripe avocado and plenty big to share for two if you choose to do that. If you don’t, take them up on the opportunity to order a half($ 7) because this is a big ‘un.(For the record, two Reuben sandwiches with fries were whisked by our table on the way to their final destination and although I never eat the former and rarely eat the latter, I will say both looked and smelled really good.) No dessert worth the calories, in my humble opinion, as only Sweet Valley Cookies with ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce is available. We could do that at home were we so inclined so dessert was a pass for us. But if that’s your thing, there it is. VALUE Two diners were well fed at lunch, two cups of soup, a huge sandwich and fresh house salad, for under $ 20. A good deal. IF I WEREQUEEN… …of the realm here, I’d wave my scepter and update the menu offerings, making it more cohesive too. That is find a voice for the kitchen and design a songbook to let them use it in the menu. I don’t mean all perfect harmony, dissonance(Bartok anyone) can be as intriguing as The Beach Boys. But the sushi menu here along with things like gyros and burgers seems too odd. I’d also update the wine, beer and cocktails list. Cocktails were woeful under the old ownership. Don’t know if they’ve made improvements in that regard or not as our current visit was lunchtime. And I’d make sure the bar provided standard height seating options at useable by people who can’t climb up on stools or step up to the elevated seating. THIS N THAT: Grand re-opening or re-launch coming up. I think they’re going to offer a free app with the purchase of two entrees, at least based on the coupon attached to our bill today.

I was somewhat uncertain about coming into Windingcreek after my less than impressive experience with the Cylos next door. I will say I am very happy we decided to stop in! To start off with the staff was super friendly and courteous. The restaurant wasn’t very busy yet but it was super clean and ready to go. I was really hungry and had an odd craving for a tuna melt. We started off with these spicy little cod bites that were one of those items that honestly seemed risky. They were so pleasantly tasty! Super crispy and light! Perfect amount of batter and spice. I just kind of wish they had a special dipping sauce. I got my tuna melt and as you know a tuna melt is a sandwich that can be done so wrong. If too much mayo is used or the tuna is too watery or cheese isn’t melted, well you know. Pleased to say it was delicious and perfectly toasted. I’m actually getting hungry just typing this up. The menu is diverse the happy hour is good. This is a go from me!

We stopped here for dinner on a Thursday evening. They have a good selection of sushi on an entirely different menu but besides the half and half salad(which was actually really good), we didn’t try any of the rolls or anything so this review is about the main items on the menu. Everyone was craving a burger and we all ordered the different types on the menu. The patties all seemed to be frozen patties with not much flavor. None of the burgers were cooked the way they were requested. One of the burgers was missing the toppings it was supposed to come with and a salad came out to us without the dressing. We were one of only about 4 seated tables in the restaurant so I cannot chalk this up to them just being too busy in the kitchen and forgot. The burgers were also served with no condiments and they didn’t have any on the table so we had to ask for that as well. Service was good however and we felt bad having to ask the waitress to keep going back and getting things that were missing from our meals. She was very pleasant however and made the experience a little better than the food.

Lately the sushi is just not fresh. Today it was mushy and strong fishy taste. We couldn’t eat it. It’s been good in the past but sorry to say no longer

Try the SBLT, and the salads are very fresh with variety. Great time on the patio with a glass of wine. I’m sold!

My husband and I came here on Saturday April 4th to celebrate 31 years if marriage — we could not have picked a better place to eat and celebrate the blessing of a lasting marriage. The BESTSERVICEEVER! SPECTACULARFOODANDDIVERSEMENU. Hubby had the grilled Ruben and salad, I had the Lamb gyro(and I’m picky about my lamb! Very tender trips.) — we licked our plates clean with great iced tea and some Pinot Gris. we are already planning to come back soon for graduation dinner! Highly recommend and right in Old Town Eagle — Venue has a lively modern feel with a touch of class — but very comfy on the old School both seats. a great find near home…

Just had a very sad experience at winding creek. First off I called in my order because I work nearby and can walk to pick it up. The waitress who answered my call told me to «wait» then helped other customers and talked to coworkers with me still listening on the phone. When she did finally get back to me she could not find what I wanted to order. She then told me that they had a new menu. The new menu is not online. So I tried to order something else– also from the old menu because I still didn’t know what was on the new menu. It was not on the new menu but they made it for me anyway. This is why they got one star. Was told it would ready in 20 min. Went 25 min later and still had to wait. There were only 2 tables with people at that time. When they finally brought me my food the waitress answered the phone while still helping me. Such bad manners! I was standing right there ready to pay. They need a hostess. I am a GREAT tipper because I have done this kind of work before. Needless to say, I did not tip this time. And then when I got back to my office there were two spoons and no fork. Can’t eat a salad very easily with a spoon. Probably won’t be back anytime soon.

There have been a lot of sushi places I’ve been to, but this one is definitely the best. A good sushi roll is definitely hard to find in Eagle, but this is definitely the place to go if you want a good, genuine, but also a work of art piece of sushi.

This place does everything right. Friendly staff, beautiful patio, killer sushi, a menu with something for everyone, local beers on tap, and reasonable prices. Definitely the best casual dining in the city.

Just got home after waiting over an hour for our food, then after eating, waiting over 30 minutes to pay the check. Food was ok, dishes came out one at a time. Horrible service with no apologies from the server. Won’t be going back. The real Willowcreek on Vista is amazing, this one is not.

New ownership. Now called Windingcreek Grill. My wife had the edamame appetizer and they very good. I had the clams-1LB. Very fresh and tasty. For the main course we split the CBLT(Chipolte BLT). It was spicy and very good. They also had an extensive sushi menu and a bar where you could also eat. $ 50 included 2 beers and 2 glasses of house wine. Service was fast and friendly. We will be back. The only suggestion I would have is that they increase the number or beer & wine choices.

Ambiance: fair, a little swanky with upscale flavor Food: For the price I was disappointed, I had 2 sushi rolls from RAW. Very mediocre sushi. My wife had the Asian salad. She said she«would have to be desperate to order it again» Price: as I said earlier, for the price I expected more. For 2 sushi rolls and an Asian salad with 2 waters =$ 37bucks Service: average to poor. We had to interrupt our waitress talking to the hostess after waiting ~10mins for our check I would not recommend this place to a friend

Customer service was very bad on last visit. There was only one other table occupied yet it took 20 minutes to receive sushi order. Order was wrong. Ordered 4 different sushi orderers and waited an extremely long time and each time order was wrong. Waitress Kept saying it was very busy yet there was only one other table the whole time we we’re there. One order had sushi still frozen. Yuck.
