I like Medical Labs in the North, South and East, but not in the Quest. Especially not this one. I’ve had awful experiences at Quests. I’ve been to this one twice, and both times it’s been slow, laborious, mechanical and cold impersonal service, and ridiculous red tape that makes it a crappy experience. I’m not surprised they get low ratings at most of their labs. They’re just not a company that emphasizes taking care of the customers. Most recently I was here about 6 months ago for blood work related stuff. It’s not as awful as the one on Sheridan where I had an awful experience, but they’re very bureaucratic, slow and plodding, and it’s hard to find this place round the back of the medical building. Overall it can score a lowly 2.

This is my usual place to have my early morning blood work done. They open at 6am and have been able to take me as a walk in appointment every time I have stopped in. If you try and book a fasting appointment using their online booking system, you know that it’s very hard to get an early appointment with in a few days notice. I just saw my Dr yesterday and he ordered a bunch of tests to be done, one of which was a fasting test… no food or drink 10 – 12 hours prior. I woke up a little early this morning and headed to this location hoping they wouldn’t be real busy because it was snowing. I was in luck! They only had 1 person there and took me right in! I was in and out within 7 minutes! The lady that drew my blood was one of the best I have ever had(I have had lots). I didn’t even feel the needle go in! If you are in this area and need blood work done, I highly suggest this location!

I’m writing this review for my mom who came here to have allergy testing done. She recently became eligible for Medicare after turning 65 and now uses Medicare along with her Independent Health insurance supplement. The lab technician at this location told her that the test she needed would cost her $ 600 because Medicare doesn’t cover it. Mom gave her the Independent Health card and tech still insisted that her insurance would not cover it. She also told her that they were closing in 15 minutes and that there was no way she’d be able to take the blood draw in that amount of time. Mom called Independent Health and they told her that though Medicare doesn’t cover the test, they do and that she should be able to have the testing done without a problem. She went to another Quest location and had the test done(blood draw) in literally 2 minutes. Poor customer service/snotty employee at this location.
