I have eaten here five times in the last 30 days and from day 1, I have gotten a feeling of disorganization in how the restaurant operates. It can be chaos from time to time. For an example my wife and I drove a long distance to have a pizza only to find out that they were closed to the public for a private event on a Thursday night! It would have been nice for them to tell somebody. Anyway I can’t complain about the pizza and the brunch which are both delicious and the reason why we keep coming back.

What a great Bakery to land at after a morning of cross country skiing! Great welcoming environment with amazingly tasty pastries. I haven’t had a bad one yet. They currently are serving just salads and pizza till February 2nd to get the new chef going. We haven’t tried that yet but they look tasty and wood fired. It’s also just a great warm space to hang back and relax. Beautiful wood work all around with 2 tiers of seating. Good quality service from all employees and nice modern POS system to ease the ordering process(it can before overwhelming to decide what it is that you want). The space also fits a lot of people and although crowded on a weekend, the space is setup in a way that gives you room to breath and relax anyways.

I moved back into the city in 2013 from East Aurora, and honestly miss the total ambiance of the Elm Street Bakery. In the center of this completely restored retail property is an unbelievable Brick Oven that makes the best bread I have had since growing up on the Lower West Side of Buffalo. Believe it or not the bread is only the beginning. The beautifully created pastry is also fantastic and ever changing. The food is very diverse as well as being as natural as possible, and perfectly prepared by their chef. They even roast their own coffee beans on site. The smell’s generated in this establishment are very soothing.

What a great experience we had this afternoon at the bakery! My friend and I shared the margherita pizza and really enjoyed it. The saucy was tangy, the fresh mozzarella was melted great and creamy, and the crust had a crispy exterior but was soft on the inside. I also like the chat the pizza gets from the brick oven where it is cooked, it makes it very delicious! I also had a bowl of the creamy potato leek soup. The soup was rich and a had a perfect onion flavor, without being overpowering. My friend also enjoyed her Caesar salad with awesome homemade croutons. We are from out of town and were taken here by a friend, and i must say this was a great spot in East Aurora!

With the Festive Holiday’s upon us what a great place to finish up your Holiday shopping At none other then, The Elm Street Bakery. Once you walk into the café you will find on their calk boards displaying Various items all made bye the little elves. From oatmeal cookies,(always my favorite) artisan breads, Pizza’s galore all made to your satisfaction in mind. Included in this café you are also reminded That you can enjoy a dinner or if in a hurry how about a bowl of their home brewed soups and Salads. No matter what the time of day I would have to say this is by far the Best Bakery on Elm Street. Found in East Aurora, New York.

My daughter got severe food poisoning from shellfish here today. She actually vomited twice while still at the restaurant. The server was made aware of her situation but still charged her for the item and continued to offer the item to other customers. Really poor response from a normally conscientious place.

We had another amazingly delicious dinner last night! Again the flavors this chef creates are amazing! I had the most delicious roasted cauliflower soup, burrata with roasted fall vegetables and quinoa and a Brussels sprouts and bacon pizza! While I wish him well at his new endeavor, I will certainly miss him at Elm Street Bakery! I guess I’ll be exploring the town of Hamburg next year!

This is 5 star all the way, without the 5 star price. First, the staff knows the menu. That’s a huge plus these days. Second, the beer & wine selection is very good. And then there is the atmosphere; very, very cool with additional adjectives required. The bar rocks, and the second floor seating area is a loft. They have«nailed it.» The food adds to the experience. You can’t go wrong on this menu from my limited experience here. I ordered the bread plate as an appetizer. Two types of butter came with; garlic and sea salt butter. Fantastic. For my main, I had the Roasted Oyster Mushroom Tartine, topped with a farm egg. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I would insert more intelligent adjectives if my range of vocabulary allowed it. Come, eat, and drink(or drink, eat, then drink). You will leave happy.

Wow. Our meal at Elm St. was about as simple as could be: classic pizza and mac and cheese. And STILL we walked away seriously impressed. When you don’t need fancy flourishes to win over your guests and can do the simple things well, then you know that you’re doing something right. The large shells in the mac and cheese were the perfect texture and had a nice bite to them. The cheese was gooey and did not have any of that gritty texture that is common in some versions of the dish. The baking of it crisped up the edges nicely and added an excellent extra bit of texture. The pizza was also delicious and, showing again that Elm St knows good cheese, had a flavorful and melty cheese on top. The pepperoni spiced things up just a bit, which was terrific. The tomato sauce was well-balanced and set things off well. Of course the crust was cooked to perfection and had nice big holes in the crust along with blacked blisters along the edge. I’ve seen complaints about the service, but that was not our experience. The hostess and our waitress were both friendly and made us feel welcome. My only complaint is a personal one. I wasn’t hungry enough to try the amazing looking bread pudding!

I had some great pizza here with friends on a recent trip to Buffalo. It was perfectly balanced(if you read my reviews, you know what this means). On top of that, everything else that people ordered was on point. Especially my friend’s chicken dinner. Nothing but good vibes coming out of this place, as corny as that sounds, it’s the truth. Definitely worth stopping into if you are in the area.

One of my favorite restaurants in WNY. A great tapas style, foodie friendly place for dinner. I’ve been there twice previously for business meals, was there this weekend with my family including two young daughters. Great atmosphere with a funky old barn feel. Awesome selection of local brews. Short menu of always inventive items. Wonderful artisanal cheese plate. Chicken liver pâté was a highlight. Wood roasted half-chicken came on the most wonderfully flavorful bed of hummus and yogurt with herbs. Pork chop with a delicious polenta and kale. Every course comes with a bread that’s even tastier than the one before. That’s not even to mention their signature wood fired pizzas which are fantastic. Can’t say enough good about this place, just go!

It’s sad that I have to drive 30 minutes outside of Buffalo to find a decent bakery, but this place is THEBOMB, and totally worth the trip. They have a a nice selection of great dishes and everything is amazing. They source a lot of their food from local farms to promote sustainability and seasonal, fresh flavors. Easily one of the best spots in WNY. These people care about the quality of their food. Check it out.

Apparently I went to this place in the wrong mindset. When I go out for breakfast/brunch I like knowing I can spend less than $ 10 and get a giant omelette or stack of pancakes and be uncomfortably full for the rest of the day. If you’re on a diet or you’re simply looking for a snack, this is the place for you. I live in EA and like everyone else i’m a huge fan of the village. This building definitely adds to its charm. Nice wooden building, very clean and lots of seating. Front patio outside had lots of available tables. It was great to be outside on a beautiful day. Walked in to a line of people that overlooked pre-made food and baked goods. My guest and I both ordered the veggie breakfast sandwiches, we split a slice of banana bread, OJ& an ice coffee. $ 22 and come change. The cashier handed me the breakfast sandwiches, a bottle of OJ, and the banana bread. No iced coffee. We had no idea if we needed to wait or if it was supposed to come right out. So we stood there with food in our hands while folks kept passing us in line. It wasn’t until I saw someone walk away with the same drink we ordered when I went up to the cashier and asked for mine. She looked at a coworker and said, «Does he get an iced coffee?». That person shrugged her shoulders and went onto make my drink. She then handed it me. No sorry for waiting, thanks for your patience, nothing. Went back outside to eat. The veggie sandwich has the distinction of being the smallest sandwich I ever had. The ingredients were flavorful, the bread was perfect but the egg was completely cold. And obviously it would be sitting in a display. I guess I prefer a warm breakfast sandwich from Timmy Ho’s that’s made practically right in front of me. And i’m not complaining about this but I had no idea that the egg was simply fried and tossed on there. Nothing said if it would be like that or scrambled or egg white. The display only said«veggie sandwich». And it wasn’t filling whatsoever. I finished everything inside the sandwich and still had lots of bread left over. Normally when you get a breakfast sandwich the egg is too big to fit in the bread, this was not the case here. The banana bread was delicious. Moist and flavorful. Better than my mom’s & grandma’s — they’d kill me if I said that. Sadly my favorite part was the bottled OJ. I thought I would get something fresh squeezed from this place but they gave me a bottle of a gourmet OJ that was pulpy and yummy. We were done with our food in five minutes. We literally laughed about how long we thought we’d be out for breakfast on a beautiful Sunday. Took our plates back inside and didn’t see a pan to put them in. Didn’t see a garbage or even anyone cleaning tables so I had no idea where to put the plates. We ended up putting them near the beer taps. $ 22 for what I like to call«breakfast snacks». It was not worth the price at all. Will I come back here for breakfast? Not a chance Will I come back for baked goods? Probably Will I give dinner and beer a chance and hope for a better result? Absolutely

I definitely know what all of the hype is about. Who wouldn’t want to eat at an artisanal bakery and lunch counter? If that isn’t you stay away because this place is about good vibes only. Our group of four had the black quinoa kohlrabi salad, grilled cheese, curry carrot soup, black bean soup and a fire grilled pizza. Nothing went uneaten. We didn’t get any baked goods but left with some kimchi to go. I heard somewhere that these fermented and pickled dishes are something the chef is experimenting with — can’t wait to try it!

Finally, a wonderful rich thin crust pizza! Best ingredients, particularly the plum tomato sauce. Crust was just the right combo of crisp and chewy Mac N cheese was smooth, creamy and thick. Beautiful baked goods. Brownies and cupcakes were delectable. Gorgeous space; open, casual, bright, rustic. I would give my experience a 5 but the process of buying lunch, then getting drinks, then the food –with those silly pager thingies — never been a fan. And at these prices I don’t want to bus my own tables.

As soon as I walked in… you can really feel the warm rustic vibe of Elm Street Bakery. It’s very inviting and smells heavenly in here. My boyfriend and I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and the French Toast with hot chocolate and a cup of their house coffee. Kimchi Fried Rice: I’m Korean and I know my Kimchi. Elm Street Bakery has decent house made Kimchi but their rice was undercooked… which was unappetizing. But the pork belly was DELICIOUS! French Toast: Served in a cast iron skillet, their version of French toast was delectable. There is just enough custardy goodness in it with the perfect amount of sweetness and apples on top. Definitely would get this again. Hot chocolate: I believe they use milk so it already makes it that much better. It’s light and perfect because it’s not too sweet or too watery. Coffee: Their house coffee was great! You should definitely get it!

Food — 4 Service — 5 Atmosphere — 5 Price –4 This place is awesome. So far we only had brunch but now I cant wait to try lunch and dinner. Personally I would have liked a little more pork belly but that could be because I am greedy. The french toast with baked apples was every bit filling as it was delicious. We absolutely loved the atmosphere, everyone was extremely pleasant and sociable. Prices might seem a bit high but thats because the ingredients are fresh and of excellent quality and from local businesses. I would love to have one in Buffalo but I dont know if it would have the same feel. The feel really matches the town. This is a great destination. We plan to return for dinner one night. All in all this is a must visit.

My boyfriend has been in the restaurant business for a long time and we both consider ourselves«foodies» so we don’t say this lightly but this was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time! Everything about this meal was as close to perfect as it gets for us; the food, the service, the atmosphere, even the price. We sat at the counter overlooking the kitchen where we were able to interact with the chefs. RJ and Anthony were awesome! Our server Rachel was equally awesome and paced our courses perfectly. First we had the pickle plate, which was more fun than you’d think trying to guess the spices and flavors in everything. We followed that up with the chicken liver mousse, which my boyfriend swears was the best thing he’s ever tasted. Next we shared the little neck clams, which with Crème freche, cider and fennel were unique and phenomenal ! Especially with the house baked bread to soak everything up. For entrees we had the boudin blanc and a margarita pizza, which were both amazing. The boudin blanc was an old family recipe that my boyfriend grew up with and they certainly did it justice. All around this was not only one of the best meals we’ve ever had but easily one of the best all around restaurant experiences. We even came back for brunch the next morning and that just reinforced our 5 star rating. RJ really does an awesome job with the«elm street secret brunch». We can’t wait to go back!

If your food here is absolutely awful around Halloween time, it’s not like that by accident. It’s part of their«Nightmare On Elm Street» dinner series. I’m not sure why anyone would pay that much to have such a nightmarish dining experience but apparently it’s a thing. Let’s see. Their famous bread? I didn’t like it that much. Their cakes? Absolutely divine. Their expensive food? Some just okay, some good, some very very good, but all of it very expensive. Their soups? Just okay. Their sandwiches? Just okay. Their service? Good! The company? It was one of my best friends, so it was spectacular. Let’s break it all down. Bread — 2⁄5 overrated Cakes — 5⁄5 off the charts Expensive Food — 4⁄5 but some of it was borderline 5 Soup — 3⁄5 average, overpriced Sandwiches — 3⁄5 average, overpriced Coffee — 4⁄5 good Service — 4⁄5 good Portion Sizes — 2⁄5 I don’t care, because I am trying to eat less, but it’s very hard to get full here. Prices — 2⁄5 — some of the expensive food is understandably expensive, but the amount they charge for a little soup and a sandwich is, to me, criminal, and I didn’t find the soup and sandwiches anything special. Company — 10⁄5 — you can’t ask for any better company than the friend I went with. Overall I would give this place a 3/5, but if I focus on just what they do very well(the desserts, the expensive dishes) then it could get a 4. Also I think it is the kind of place that a lot of people would like a lot, so there is that. But the portion sizes are quite small so don’t be surprised if… Every Little Morsel’s Swallowed Too Rapidly, Every Exceptional Tiny Bit Appreciated, Keeping Everyone Ravished, Yes? In other words, you might leave hungry.
