We go here at least once a month if not more in the summer. Food is always delicious and the service is usually great. The owner is a really nice guy and you can tell he is working his butt off! Something happened the other night when we were in though that left a somewhat bad taste in my mouth. I always order a tap water with my meal. I’m not even sure if they charge me for it or not. The young man at the counter gave me my tap water when we ordered and we went outside to wait. When they called my name, I went in to get our food and asked if I could have a refill. He said yes for .53 cents!!! I looked in my wallet to see if I had .53 cents and I only had a twenty dollar bill so I said no thanks then. Was a bit putt off by it and mentioned it to the rest of my family. Well my daughter then was thirsty as of course she finished her huggie that came with the kids meal before the meal even came. She went in to ask for a cup of water. The young girl got one for her and then went to get a lid and straw. The young man then turned around and said she couldn’t have the lid and straw and that she really shouldn’t be getting a water. My daughter took the water and walked out. Now I do realize this is my 9 year old daughters word but it wasn’t a surprise considering the young mans attitude earlier as he was quite smug with the .53 cents bit. We will still go there I’m sure but .53 cents for a refill of water? I own a business and I understand you need to make a profit but it seems rather ridiculous when any restaurant gives you free refills on water or pop.

Called in for an order to go. Guy on phone was rude and said it would be an hour to pick up a pizza. Will likely never call back.

Burgers and dogs are good. I know it sounds strange but it’s the best pasta you’ll ever eat off a paper plate. Eggplant parm is excellent!

Fantastic food! The menu is extensive! You will not be disappointed. There is something for everyone. The wings are the best! I love there signature wings and pizza. I recently had a burger and was very impressed. Keep up the good work Chet’s !!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food at Olde Tyme Chet’s. The menu is fairly broad and combines the typical Buffalo pizza joint with the typical Buffalo hot dog/burger joint. The execution of those standard dishes was excellent on our visit — from the kids’ grilled cheese sandwiches to my Buffalo chicken sandwich. The onion rings were particularly good. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with were the«signature» loaded potato wedges. Chet’s also serves ice cream and Ryan’s cane sugar sodas.

This place is just average. Had the hoagie which was horrible, it was drowned in their«special sauce» which is all you could taste in the sandwich. I got a hot dog in place of the hoagie and onion rings. Those were both decent. The rest of our party was in agreement, merely average food, nothing spectacular.

When we had given up on John and Mary’s on Main Street due to poor service, we found Timmy Z’s Olde Tyme Chets on Olean Road. I had heard it was pretty darn good, so we gave it a shot. I’ve got to say: pizza and chili dogs are superior at this place. Olde Tyme Chets was a place where my dad used to go in the 1960’s for chili dogs when he worked at Moog nearby. It has changed owners several times over the years and Timmy Z’s family bought it a year or so ago. I can’t compare it to the earlier owners, since I had not been there in decades. First off, the pizza here is incredibly tasty. The sauce is great, maybe because Timmy Z adds honey instead of sugar. Just sweet enough; not too sweet. The ingredients are really fresh — the pepperoni is hand cut and very different from the Sysco pepperoni most other pizza joints dump on their pies. The crust is NYC-style thin, and I think it is better than most I’ve had in the City. As for the chili dogs — superior. Their dogs exceed the bun an inch and a half on both ends, and not because the buns are too short. When you bite into them they snap like they’re supposed to when they are cooked perfectly, but the taste is what makes them stand out. I’m not sure who supplies his dogs, but they are really top notch. I’ve been there a few times now, gotten to know Timmy a bit and even met his father who runs a carpet shop most days. The family works their butts off to make a buck and it shows in the quality of their offerings. They told me even their wings are hand cut — not the machine cut variety that most other shops offer(you know, the ones with shattered end joints that cut your mouth). That’s my next try, since I was recently disappointed in the famous wings at Barbill nearby. They also sell Turkey Hill ice cream in wide varieties; I know my daughter will love this in the summertime. Here you get consistently great food at reasonable prices from a hard working family who earns every penny. This is the kind of place that makes the Buffalo area famous for our food. Go! Eat! Smile!
