The shop has plenty of seating and lots of cupcake choices to choose from. Unfortunately the cupcakes we got had also seemed to have been there for a while, a possible outcome of cupcakes sitting in unrefrigerated display. The chocolate covered strawberry on top of the cupcake«the chocolate covered strawberry» was the only portion of this cupcake that was enjoyable. The overall cupcake itself was dry and the frosting had a hardened shell on the exterior. The other one we got was the«my bloody valentine» which was disappointing to say the least. The cake portion was once again very dense and dry, the chocolate frosting lacked any chocolate flavor. The cherry within the bottom layer of the cake seemed misplaced and didn’t fully connect with the cake when pulled from the wrapper by hand or with fork. The flavor concepts here have potential but for us it will not be somewhere we intend to return.

I’ve always thought cupcakes are just what pastry chefs made as kids, but realistically they’re quick, easy and already portioned. The cupcakes here are good for the most part. the peanut butter cupcakes always have a good flavor, I just wish my favorite guiness cupcakes had a stronger guiness flavor, and maybe a baileys frosting. The service here is always great. The staff is always very nice, and coffee and teas come out quick. all in all, a good place for dessert.

I was in for the third time yesterday. I would rate all of my experiences as a 2. The shop was very cute and cozy, however the service has been hit or miss. Each time I tried 2 different cupcakes so I’ve tried 6. Each time the frosting was very good and they were decorated beautifully, but the actual cupcakes were dry and lacked flavor. I truly believe that any bakery should have a great base product. I would suggest adjusting the recipe just slightly to at least improve the extremely dry consistency of the cake. I should note that every occasion I visited I was with others who agreed that the actual cupcakes were«nothing special.» I will say that the coffee was good.

I came here after shipping at Vidlers. It’s literally a hop and a skip away… I ordered 3 different flavors PB&J, Red Velvet & Strawberry Margherita. My least favorite was the strawberry… but boy o boy how I loved the red velvet!!! It was delicious. I do wish it was a little more moist. This place has had big reviews from lots of people I know and I finally was able to try for myself. I would go back again. Hopefully they have some new flavors to try!

I love that this bakery has so many vegan options. There were four types of vegan cupcakes the day that I went. Luckily, my husband, son, and I all ordered different flavors so I got to try the Chocolate salted caramel, chocolate, and apple cupcakes. All of them were good but the apple one was my favorite(it was the most moist and had apple pieces in the center). The atmosphere was great and the employees were very friendly. Will definitely be going again soon.

The cupcakes at this place look amazing until you start eating them. I really didn’t like how they make the frosting look all fancy and they don’t even cover the entire top of the cupcake. It’s was also very dry like it was made days ago. I do however like that they have gluten free cupcakes because that makes my girlfriend very happy and then that makes me happy! IT is also shark week and they had at least three shark themed cupcakes which is the coolest thing ever and can’t wait to come back shark week 2016. The staff was friendly and the interior is nice.

Firefly Cupcakes is a great place to take a break after walking around East Aurora and to take a break for some sugar. The cupcakes are a bit pricey($ 3.50 each, although a little cheaper in larger quantities), but they are worth it. There is a pretty good selection of flavors. You wouldn’t want to eat here too often, but it makes for a nice treat. The store is near Vidler’s, so you can recover by having a dessert here. And for a nice touch, they have a water dispenser and cups in case you don’t want to buy a beverage. Service is friendly and helpful, too.

Firefly cupcakes is located next to viddlers in the beautiful town of East Aurora and is amongst the more popular desert places around. I love the quaint charm the inside of this place offers! It’s the perfect setup to enjoy desert and a cup of coffee on a quiet morning in the neighborhood! I love the unique creations they have to offer here cupcake wise. I had the peanut butter cup cupcake(because I love peanut butter) and while I tasted the peanut butter taste in it, I found the frosting a little too rich for my likings and the cake itself a little to dry for me personally. I prefer a moist cake myself. Please don’t get me long, it was a very enjoyable desert, it’s just had a few minor imperfections by my standards is all, but I’ll certainly stop back in when I’m in east aurora!

They have the most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever had! The chocolate explosion is my favorite! The restaurant is beautiful and relaxing! It’s a great place to go and chat with friends while enjoying a cup of coffee and a great cupcake! My kids love it too! Highly recommend!

Cupcakes were pretty to look at but all 4 of the ones my family and I tried were dry and one was completely stale like it had been sitting in that case for days.

How much more healthy do you really need to be. Come to the Firefly Cupcakes bakery and get yourself a great tasting cup of costrican coffee served in a small glass pitcher and delicious variety of gluten free cupcakes. I would like to point out there other types of coffee and teas available but the Costrican coffee was by far my favorite. Can it get any better then this, I think not! Cheers.

I have been here more times in the past few years than I can count. I just love these cupcakes! I love how there is always a theme! The tea and French pressed coffee is also delicious! My only complaint is that the last few times I’ve been here, the music was really strange. I don’t want to hear rap/hip hop while on my cupcake/coffee date.

Our favorite cupcake place! We always bring a six pack of assorted when we go to visit friends! My sister lives in the baltimore metro area and has access to many cupcake places, she said Firefly by far has the best red velvet she has had anywhere! We always pick up some doggy cupcakes too! Hot chocolate! You must try their peanut butter cup hot cocoa!

If you’re about eating dry, bland matter that passes for a cupcake then this is the place for you. We ordered the birthday, vanilla, pink champagne, and grapefruit cupcakes and they all tasted the same. They were also dry and crumbly, not the moistness you would expect from an artisan cupcake. What a scheme this place has going for itself. I recommend taking your $ 2.99 and buying a pillsbury box mix to make your own batch as opposed to wasting your money on one of these over priced ragamuffins.

Stopped by for the first time today with the family. We had 3 cupcakes and coffee. Cupcakes: 2⁄5. They looked nice, but they all were very dense and almost stale tasting. Not much difference in flavors — mostly just too sugary. It’s disappointing when red velvet isn’t accompanied with a good cream cheese frosting. Coffee: 3.5÷5. Good, but limited options besides a cup of black coffee. My wife liked it more than I did. Service was good and the dining area is nice. . I probably won’t be back though because the cupcakes were the draw.

I try my best to support local businesses, but unfortunately I can’t recommend this shop. I’ve had one cupcake from there that was delicious… but everything else I’ve tried has been stale or undercooked. I’m pretty easy to please, but for $ 3.50 a cupcake, I’ve been continuously disappointed and have given up.

So Firefly won the cupcake war with Swirls going out of business… Sad to see the location on Elmwood not have the success they had hope, but with any luck Firefly will be around for a while to provide everyone with an enjoyable experience. If for some reason you missed the cupcake craze, here’s your chance to enjoy one of the good ones. the cupcakes are generally fresh with several options to cover everyone’s sweet tooth. For me the thing that makes this place special is to be able to sit down and enjoy a french press coffee and relax while debating if I should grab a second cupcake…

Beautifully decorated cupcakes, but they lack in the taste department. I’ve had their cupcakes three times now and have found the quality to have declined. They are entremely dense.

I had an irish coffee cupcake, my wife had a vanilla bean, and we bought a chocolate birthday cupcake for our son. Prices aside(what do you expect from a gourmet cupcake place?); all three tasted stale, and were very dry; like they had been baked yesterday. My cupcake tasted like it was plain chocolate, with the only coffee coming from the single chocolate covered espresso bean on top. The other two were overly sweet, with little flavor. To top off the poor cupcakes, the service was very poor. We were glared at when we came in, and not greeted. We felt more like a burden than an actual customer. We won’t be back.

Oh! My! God! Those are WONDERFUL cupcakes! Big and beautiful and oh-so-delicious! Two of us got four to go… and what a difficult time we has trying to decide which ones to get. They all looked SOGOOD! Mint chocolate chip… and chocolate chip cookie dough… and peanut butter cup… and double chocolate… and red velvet… and chocolate vanilla swirl… and vanilla… and creamsicle… and root beer float… and banana cream pie… and coconut… and SOMANYMORE. Plus vegan and gluten free varieties(oh my!!). When I was told that they are opening a new location in Elmwood Village(in the location of the former«Zillycakes») on May 15th my first response was, «When are they going to open a Williamsville location… like right next door to my house?» Yup… they are THAT good!
