Sears Hometown Store

Disgusting!!!
This Sears Hometown Store arranges deliveries with the Swift Trucking Company to deliver products in the middle of the night. The trucks arrive around 5:00 PM and IDLE OVERNIGHT until 9:00 AM the next day. There are laws in NYC forbidding the idle of heavy trucks and buses for more than 5 min!!! Yet our fair Village of EA and Sears relentlessly break the law of Chapter 171… NOISE
171 – 2. Prohibited acts.
No person with the intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof, shall cause, suffer, allow or permit to be made unreasonable noise. For purposes of this chapter, unreasonable noise is any disturbing, excessive, or offensive sound that disturbs a reasonable person of normal sensitivities. The following acts are declared to be prima facie evidence of a violation of this chapter. The enumeration shall not be deemed exclusive.
A. ANY UNNECESSARY NOISE FROM ANY SOURCE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 11:00 PM AND 7:00 AM THE FOLLOWING DAY.
WISE UP SEARS AND THE EA POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!

So nice to have this store in town. Had already talked to the associate about a vacuum, she spent a lot of time with me when I was just looking. When it finally came time to get a new vacuum, went right to this store to purchase it. It was on sale and the price was competitive with other «brick-​and-​mortar» retailers that had it.

They were opened during the November storm 2014. While the other local hardware store chose not to open. I desperately needed a shovel. And in December, I ordered a big toolbox for a Christmas gift for a family member, and the associate carried it to the car for me. Great to have in town.
