Very bad scheduling and unprofessional customer service go to another location! They told me I would have the first appointment only to tell me the day of that appointment that someone else was the first stop because apparently they had paid a premium appointment fee that no one made me aware of. I guess the 2 star rating should have been an indication of how it was gonna go.

I had a small crack in my windshield from a rock hitting me on the road. I liked the ease of scheduling the appointment with them online and was surprised I got an appointment for the very next day. Repair was going to cost about $ 160. The guy comes to my work and tells me what he’s going to do and that there’s a small chance of the windshield breaking during the process but it rarely happens, I sign the waiver, and go back to work. Shortly after, I get a call from him telling me my windshield broke and now needs to be completely replaced, they wouldn’t be able to do it for 4 days and it would cost $ 550, that he wouldn’t replace it for what I was going to pay for the repair, but that there also wouldn’t be any charge for today’s visit.
Well thanks for not charging me to completely break my windshield, dick! I’m thinking either Safelite hires complete morons and doesn’t train them well enough, or they do this on purpose to bump their sales.
There’s no way I would give them more business so I got a few quotes online and ultimately went with Eagle Auto Glass, who only charged me $ 235 for the replacement. And that guy was nice and knew what he was talking about (or so it seemed to me).

While returning home on our last of a three day drive, maneuvering through a work zone just two hours shy of our home state, a passing car threw up a stone that unfortunately struck our windshield and caused a star burst crack. One of Safelite’s expert technicians was at our residence the following morning and within one half hour our windshield of a car we only had for a few months was repaired. He explained the procedure and lifetime warranty in full. This has not been our first time we’ve had to use their services but do hope it to be the last … by no means of the companies workmanship … I just don’t want anymore mishaps with our windshields.

Customer service was poor but they do not want me to write about that so lets just move on… The «professional installation» was far from it and I could tell from the moment I met the technicians that it was going to go downhill. I never place anything on top of my car yet they decided it was ok to place their phone and my keys on my car. It was obvious from the get go that 100% care was not going to be taken with my vehicle. As you can see from the pictures, no care was taken in preventing my dash from being scratched. You would think a company being in business for many years would at least place a blanket down before they start working on something so close to a dashboard. Another issue I had was the amount of little glass pieces I found all over my dash and carpet. I’m not sure how so many pieces fell inside my car but at least have the courtesy of vacuuming them or something… I know they say the job takes only 30 minutes but maybe it should take more in order to be thorough and clean the mess you created.

I’m not sure if it was the East Brunswick or the Freehold office, since they were supposed to come to my house. I made the appointment on Saturday — they said the earliest they could get here was on Thursday. I paid extra to be the first appointment of the day so I could go to work after they were finished. At 8: AM the tech called and said they didn’t have my windshield in stock (Ford Focus — very rare) but it would be coming in at noon. I reluctantly agreed and called out at work. At noon he called back and said the windshield didn’t come in with the shipment, and they would have to re-​schedule for next week! I told them to forget it. I called A-​1 Auto Glass — they were at my house and done within two hours. Best of all, they were $ 200 cheaper! I would thank Safelite for saving me money if I didn’t lose a whole days’ pay. Do yourself a favor, call somebody else.

My insurance recommended these guys to me after I realized a very small chip in my windshield and had to get it filled before it spread. They were nothing but professional, personable, and efficient. I am happy to report that a few weeks later, the chip has not spread at all, and the tiny indent that they filled is hard to notice. These guys are great.

A rock chipped our Subaru Forester’s windshield which then cracked all the way across. Our insurance referred us to this Safelite location. The tech started the job on time and finished in an hour, as promised. He did a clean and professional job. Couldn’t be happier.
