Their buffet doesn’t look too tasty, to me at least, but I know that part of cooking for many is that the food should be customizable, not too extreme in flavor. Their sandwiches are another story completely, quality ingredients, especially their grilled or cutlet chicken. I’ve had about three or four of the sandwiches and they’re all very good. — All-American is good — The cutlet/bacon/cheese is good, maybe a little too rich sometimes — The honey mustard, ham, cutlet is different, and very tasty. My favorite.

When I am in Astoria this is a good place to grab a nice sandwich. Very friendly and the home made spicy peppers are great ! I had a simple grilled chicken sandwich with prosciutto fresh mozzarella and Tommy’s home made spicy peppers… excellent sandwich.

Awesome Italian heros — and my girl loved their veggie hero. A small Italian specialty store in upper ditmars area(or, depending who you ask East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, or Astoria — there is literally a block here where one store says Jackson Heights, one store says Astoria, and one store says East Elmhurst — so they are clearly having an identity crisis in this area!) I’ve been spending more time in this area due t its close proximity to LGA and have come to appreciate its old-neighborhood feel. There is no irony here — this is a real neighborhood, old school and almost a relic in the new New York. Anyway, back to the review. The shelves were stocked with pastas and sauces and other staples of an Italian grocery. Food looks fresh and/or homemade. Coffee was fresh and powerful. Nice gentleman, possibly the owner, behind the counter who was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be a stop for me whenever I’m in the area. Top quality.

The sandwiches are great! The owner, Tommy thinks he’s a gangster and walks with a chip on his shoulder. Just wait till one of those correctional officers walks in with a gun after having a bad day at work, i wana see how gangster the little italian guy is.

The owner Tommy is one of the most genuine people In the neighborhood. He makes the mozzarella himself, which is delicious! Ask him to make you a sandwich and I promise you won’t be dissapointed. Couldn’t live without tommy’s place down the block!
