The food was great, with friendly, attentive service. I had salmon, potato croquette – homemade – and a sautéed green leafy vegetable. Maybe spinach. Everything was flavorful and portions generous. Winston chatted with us for a while. We will be back soon.

I had dinner here, curry goat, rice and beans, and plantains. Yum! We were seated right away and the food came out quickly ordering. Service was with a smile and Winston, himself, could be found chatting it up at each table and making sure all was okay. After dinner time was over, the tables and chairs were put up to make room for the transformation… The Dance Floor! I danced to great music. More people should come out. I’m not local but when I come back I will definitely return to Winston’s!

Stopped there last night and saw no cars in the parking lot and were skeptical. So glad we stopped. Owner chef Winston is delightful, his cooking is differently delicious. The grilled artichokes were unbelievably great. The Asian wings were spicy and very flavorful! Caribbean citrus salad was extremely refreshing. The blackened shrimp and plantains perfect. Bartender Stephen was fun and talkative

After several excellent meals, with mediocre service, we tried Winston’s again. Major disappointment after the previous meals. The good news is that the grilled artichoke is still good. The bad news is that even one of their signature dishes, jerk chicken, was relatively bland and tasteless. Also, how can a Jamaican restaurant be out of plantains? They substituted plantain fries which might have been good when they were fresh. Also, the bread basket was pathetic. The bread had the look and taste of a hamburger roll, and not a good one at that. Their seafood pasta was even more of a disappointment. It had no taste, and probably came right out of the microwave to the table as we had to send it back initially as some parts of it were hot and other parts of it were still cold. They have done better before and if they intend to stay around for another year and make it through the winter, the have to get their groove back.

The salmon spinach and smash potatoes were superb. They just meltedin my mouth. But above all the service was phenomenal. Big thanks to the whole crew they were very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. My husband lost his band and the whole crew helped out and even checked the trash. We definitely would recommend them and look forward to coming again.

Oxtail barely had any meat and the rice and beans that accompanied the oxtail could of been better. I paid 10.00 for a ginger beer(non alcoholic) my friend had the coco rum(which had alcohol) and she paid 11.00. The waiter said the manager said to charge that. I think that’s ridiculous. I had the crab meat in the crab. It was good. I don’t eat flour and asked if I can just have a vegetable substitution and they said we don’t do any substations and I heard the waiter say that to the other tables as well. You have to accommodate the customer to have them return. I know it’s a new establishment so hopefully these things will work out.

A valiant effort but it just doesn’t succeed. The servers have very positive attitudes but don’t really know the basics of how to present a meal and later, remove plates. The appetizers are great — fried oysters and a grilled artichoke top the list. Unfortunately the entrees are disappointing. Curry goat was heavy and over salted. The fried lobster was greasy and tough. The people at the next table couldn’t finish the burger. We won’t be back.

Winstons has a very homey, welcoming feel to it. The staff seems like family and takes pride in making sure that their customers are happy with both the service AND the food — something rare in the Hamptons. The chef/owner has been around for 20 years in the Hamptons. he knows his crowd and he also knows how to cook. His food however, while traditionally good, has also got an amazing creole twist which offers very complex and delicious tastes. The chef is also very willing and eager to change or alter any dish to your liking. The conch fritters were amazing, the salad dressing delicious, and the grilled artichoke were all appetizers we enjoyed. The only set back to this amazing restaurant was the desert… With such an amazing restaurant, such a friendly staff and chef, you would expect exceptional deserts to end your meal on an amazingly exceptional and«sweet» note. The deserts, however, were not satisfying and frankly not very original — and didn’t taste homemade. The only exception was the bread pudding, which the staff recommended and was very good. All in all i would go back, but not get desert until the deserts are on par with the amazing friend lobster quality of the entire restaurant.

Walking into the place you get the feel of a very authentic and warm restaurant. We sit down and the chef/owner personally greeted us and answered questions we had. The bread was not good, it had a weird taste to it. But, the food was very good and had unique flavors. We ordered the grilled artichoke, and it was delicious. My father ordered the fried lobster and he loved it. I got the roasted chicken and my brother got the jerk chicken and both were very flavorful. The only thing I would say is to skip dessert. But if you have to have it I suggest the bread pudding which was very good, but I would rather have something else. The cheesecake was room temperature and tasted like it had been in the fridge with other food items. Overall, a nice change to the typical restaurants in the hamptons– nice, down to earth, great service, and great flavors.

Went here yesterday for July 4th weekend in the Hampton’s. As mentioned previously, the servers are nice and even«Winston» came out to say hello and ask about the food. We got a few apps and a each member in my party got a main dish. The fried calamari was good as was the spinach side, the potato croquettes were ok, it was a very large potato croquette, 2 in an order, and was basically fried mashed potatoes that were kind of tasteless. The only reason this is getting 2 starts is because everyone loved the jerk chicken and was raving about it. I, however, got the fried crab legs after a recommendation from our server. The first set we pretty good, don’t know why you fry shell on crab legs since you’re only eating the inside, but that is beside the point. The second set tasted like bleach. There was a distinct chemical smell and taste which multiple people in my party noticed. I couldn’t eat it after that. Also, myself and another girl in my group got food poisoning after as well, both of us had eaten the crab legs. I mentioned the smell and taste to the bus boy and server and all I got was I’m sorry are you sure you aren’t allergic. Then«Winston» the chef came out again and I mentioned it to him and all I got was I’m sorry I wish you told me earlier so I could have seen them and inspected them. Well I told the server and bus boy and obviously no one cared. They didn’t take it off the bill either. The dessert was mediocre at best. I don’t think this place will last.

I tried the goat curry for dinner and had conch fritters for an appetizer. Unbelievably delicious. The next trip to East Hampton, I will make it a point to stop by here. Also, friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable service.

excellent and very interesting food. Great seasoning and incredibly fresh ingredients. Salads are great, fish is superb, service is really top notch. It is significantly less pricey than most of the other places in EH with a much more interesting menu than many places.

Excellent food & service! Crispy Fried Ginger Whole Maine Lobster was absolutely Divine. Lobster was lightly flavored with ginger & moist, tender & juicy succulent bites. The fluke dinner with mashed potato and sautéed spinach was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Portions are Huge. Kale Salad was so good. We were too full to eat dessert. Chef is talented. The restaurant is a great secret spot in the hamptons. Not stuffy people. Casual, and great service from Angie. You need to GOANDEATTHELOBSTER

Succulent oxtail + amazing steak!!! Driving out to East Hampton, we thought it would be impossible to find any West Indian food until we drove passed the 3 Jamaican flags on the highway, we knew where we would have dinner. The bartender did us in with Winston’s signature CoCo punch(a must have) and the steak was made to perfection!!! Ask for the specials from your waiter, don’t forget the oxtail, as good as mama’s home cooking. We made the decision on the spot, after meeting Winston the owner and head chef, that we were coming back for breakfast the next day.
