I’m Asian so I need an Asian barber, I mean if your a white girl you re just not gonna get your hair cut in da hood. This place it’s Asian(canton btw) they have one white guy Tony, who specializes in white ladies hair. He’s the first chair, I got my haircut from Andy, there’s also Winnie all the way at the end. you get an awesome deep hair shampoo(don’t forget to tip!!!).I“almost“went to another Asian salon, but that was for far this works.

UNLICENSEDFLOORCLEANERATTEMPEDJAPANESEHAIRSTRAIGHTENING. I have 2nd degree burn blisters all over my head and only after bursting into tears and demanding someone else work on my hair did they give me a licensed stylist. Contacting attorney general office. Called and asked to speak to owner the day after and they told me she’s in the hospital.

Studio D’Karant Salon-Rt 10, East Hanover This salon is good for me whenever I don’t feel like spending a whole day in the City getting a cut from those big name salons. The place is not fancy, but provides good service with good value, at a fraction of the cost at Manhattan. My husband started going there 15 years ago. Then I decided to give it a try since my favorite salon lost my favorite stylist. I have been to the stylist Winnie for 7 years and Tanya for my facials. Tanya was very good to clear up my face but she decided not to commute from East Brunswick anymore. I still go to see Winnie for my hair cut and color. I have been very pleased with her, she is a very low-key person but she knows what she is doing. Mind you i have been to stylists trained at Bumble & Bumble, Vidal Sassoon, Toni & guy, etc. even had Kenneth of NY do my hair years ago. A lot of girls look at my hair cut and wanted the same, that gave me a laugh, they couldn’t get the same cut, it depends on a lot of factors(texture of your hair, shape of your skull, etc.) Speaking from experiences, I am very pleased and very satisfied with Winnie, my stylist.

I have been going to this salon for the last 10 years. Ask for Andy… he is great. The ladies in the store can be really loud, speaking in Chinese, so be prepared for it. Judy the facial lady is great.

Despite the name, it’s really a Chinese hair salon in the middle of a strip mall with a Penang and Kam Man(Asian grocery chain). It’s not as cheap as Chinatown — $ 18 for a haircut for a guy, if that gives you pause — but it is convenient on Route 10, and the ladies there are quick, if somewhat brutal. Watch out who you get, though — some of them do a haphazard job — mistakenly didn’t wear contacts one time and was disappointed with the unevenness of my cut. Definitely don’t hesitate to tell them what you want. Ditto for the hair washers. There’s a nice gentle one, and the other uses water that’s too warm and scratches with her nails… no fun. Careful! I didn’t get names, though.
