The British were coming! The British were coming! But not anymore. 3⁄5 would recommend!

Warning! Paul Revere’s has been closed! When I drove by recently the sign had been taken down, and there was a for rent sign. Though this pizza place was pretty good, and the atmosphere was pretty quaint, it is no longer available for pizza seekers to enjoy.

One-star review just as a heads-up. Closed July 26th without warning Supposedly, their pizza will live on at a Lansing-area site TBD.(Announcement in September, per the«we’re outta here» website.)

Good little bar. I read reviews about the pizza, they were dead on. Great pizza. The stone oven really makes it the best around. Cold beer and good specials. They even turned up the tigers game for us tonight. That’s more than the peanut Barrel can say. On the down side. Why no real silverware? And no plates. But still, love the pizza, we’ll be back soon. So we walked in for a lunch around noon to find one person at a bar and a thousand year old bartender lady who also does waitressing! The shuddering fear of what’s wrong with this place when it’s more deserted than a Sahara dessert during a hot summer month overcame me immediately. Ordered a burger which was nothing special and was chewy like an old oily rag and a coke on the side. I wanted a refill and had to walk up to the bar with my glass in hand to get more soda since the mummy could not see that far nor did she really pay attention to us. Same happened with the bill! No wifi. Come on now! Please hire someone other than Paul Revere’s mom you cheap skates!

Decided to eat here after seeing all the great reviews. The bottom line is this: I’m going to have to give it a second chance, because the meal I had just sucked balls. I ordered a Revere Burger Deluxe and a Coney Dog with cheese and a side of waffle fries. Everything was extremely bland and unseasoned. Zero salt, zero seasonings, and the only redeeming factor were the great char marks on the burger itself. I think my biggest mistake was getting it to go, because the kid who made up my order put the Coney Dog and waffle fries in one big styrofoam box. All of the chili and cheese from the Coney Dog ended up getting transferred to the waffle fries, leaving me nothing but a plain hot dog in a soaking wet bun. The bun was so wet, in fact, that it was as though it had been expertly dipped in water by Takeru Kobayashi himself. FAIL!!! but I’ll give it a second chance, maybe getting a pizza next time.

I have lived in East Lansing for 13 years and I cannot believe I didnt know about this place. There are like 5 places to go in East Lansing, so you can squeeze out like one Unilocal adventure a year. I was so thrilled when Paul Revere’s magically popped up in my search last evening, I ran out of the house immediately, picked up my brother and headed to PR. The tavern is something I’ve literally seen a thousand times, but it never made it into my conscious mind. It actually looks kind of shady. There were no lights and one car in the parking lot. My brother was scared, and said we should just dip– but I convinced him to get out of the car and try the door, since Unilocal said they were OPEN. Anddd they were! We were the only people there besides the owner, a kindly older gentleman who was happy to see us. It was super dark and a little cold, but nothing you wouldnt expect from the Cheer-esque kind of place it was. New-ish flat screens playing the NCAA tournament and a nice interactive arcade selection. 1.)We had the Wings with Mild sauce– awesome 2.) We had the homeade breadsticks — awesome 3.) We had a pizza with double cheese and pepperoni– Amazing! 4.) We had Crispin Hard Cider from the tap– tasty and refreshing The pizza was just like NY pizza, thin and wide and marvelous and delicious. I will be back, and I will also tell the world.

Coming from New England where pizza is a delicacy(hee hee) it’s hard to find pizza places around here that remind me of New Haven style(Frank Pepe’s) and NY style in which I grew up with. Paul Revere’s is that place for me! The pizza is amazing and the fried mushrooms are so tasty. I love that the owner is there(every time we’ve been there) and you know where your money is going, unlike these chain pizza places. If you want real authentic thin crust NY/New Haven style pizza you’ve gotta try Paul Revere’s!!!

Just your dependable, friendly, no-frills neighborhood bar. I didn’t discover the beauty that is Paul Revere’s until after college. College me probably wouldn’t even have appreciated it during those days. Drinks-wise, there’s always something on special it feels like. Even when we were most recently there to watch a football game, we got our drinks for really cheap. The BBQ chicken pizza wasn’t the greatest that I ever had, but it was decent. You’ll likely find someone willing to chat it up about the good ol’ days, and everyone, from the workers to the patrons, is friendly.

Paul Revere’s is off the beaten path and that is a good thing! Their New York Style pizza is great, try the supreme. Just get the large size, it’s worth it. It takes a little while to get your food because they actually make your pizza instead of reheating it. Try the spicy cheese things, they are amazing. This bar is great. Jim is awesome too.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Wanted to try something new and looked to Unilocal for a suggestion. Believe the hype! Ordered a 16″ pep and cheese carry-out. This is a legit New York-style pie. It was a perfect pizza… cheese, crust, pep, sauce… all were delicious. I can’t believe it took me 2 years to try this pizza. This pizza is a must!

OH my!!! This is perhaps one of the best Pizza’s I have ever eaten! It’s a really dark, local bar, but don’t be deceived… The Pizza is FANTASTIC! If I lived in the area, this would be a place I’d eat at once a week! Thanks Unilocal reviewers!!! You got me in the door, and Paul has done the rest!

A dive in a college town with pretty great pizza and I’m from Chicago… Went here after leaving a cold, wet and miserable MSU football game at half time on Saturday. It is dark and dingy, but the service is great, the prices are right, the beer is plentiful and the pizza is pretty damn good. There weren’t enough tv’s for my liking since we were trying to watch the rest of the MSU game on tv, but it did the trick. Our servers were very attentive and nice. We ordered the large pizza with sausage and pepperoni. The sausage was not the greatest, but the crust, sauce cheese and pepperoni were excellent. Had a good time here which made up for the crappy game and we even convinced my mom that the owner is related to Paul Revere! Good times.

Great local-bar feel but no locals-only attitude. Good prices on huge drinks(under $ 8 for a pitcher-sized mug of Bells), but the real secret is their pizza — generous size and heaped with toppings.

ZOMG! If you are from the Northeast(where the pizza is flat and crispy), RUN to Paul Revere’s for a damn good pie. Their recipe is from a joint in NYC, and they make the dough and the sauce fresh. Yesssss! Crust is crispy perfection. Sauce is smooth and delish(not a bitey, indigestion-fest). I like to swing by here on the way home from work to pick up a couple of pies for the family. Good stuff!

Excellent hamburger and fries. About a dozen MI brews on tap made it even better. No glitz, no glamor, no splash but a nice comfortable joint with some TVs and a relaxed staff. A good place to chill out and just far enough away from the MSU campus to avoid those over-zealous undergrads.

I always enjoy a comfortable bar with a Cheers-style attitude. I find this to be such a place. The place is not overcrowded, but still has plenty of patrons and the waitstaff I found to be quite pleasant. She didn’t fare well with the table next to me though, as she wasn’t at their beck and call. However, if you have a little patience and relax, then you’ll enjoy yourself. There were a few big screen TVs, a jukebox, and a few video games pushed off to the side. It’s not a cool as Stober’s, but I would definitely swing by again next time i’m in the area.
