We had an overall great experience on Valentine’s Day. The place was decorated nicely both inside and out. The live music was a great touch! The waiter staff is very efficient if not friendly. Overall the food was excellent, although we could have done without the fish head and tail on the plate with the branzino. We will likely return!

For an elegant business lunch or a special occasion to be remembered, Palm Court at The Carltun is the perfect setting. The restaurant is always dressed for the season, pristinely maintained and provides a comfortable but upscale environment to enjoy a meal with your companions whether a romantic date or big group. During the many times I have dined at Palm Court the waitstaff has always been incredibly polite, knowledgable, accommodating and efficient. The food never fails to impress, and is always meticulously presented and delicious. Even the desserts, which are often the exception in fine dining restaurants, are prepared in-house and amazing. I always leave looking forward to my next trip!

Dined there last weekend June 6, 2015. I was very disappointed with my experience. The ambiance as I entered heightened my expectations. The grounds were lovely. The dining area was lovely. The food was good but the service was VERYDISAPPOINTING. We decided to dine outside despite it being a bit nippy for a spring evening. They had fire pits outside so we took a chance. There is definitely an air of elitism by the wait staff that ruined my dining experience. We seemed to have trouble communicating as his responses to me were riddled with an air of disdain and annoyance. Needless to say he was also a bit spiteful in deciding to turn off the fire pit without asking the patrons if they needed it. When I requested another he was very obnoxious and placed it directly against my chair. I was shocked as I have never had this type of experience from hospitality staff. I wanted to order more wine but Given this unwarranted behavior I opted not to. I really could not take a chance on getting anything«extra» in my meal. Luckily my fiancé is a bit more composed than I am and even gave him a tip. I sure would not have. Point to note. All staff in the service industry is important for the livelihood of the business and one person can really do some major damage because I feel like I will NEVER go back there to spend my money. #nycdining #finedining

Super fancy, be prepared! They have valet parking. The décor is impeccable and they had a live musician to sing for us while we were eating on a friday night, which really added to the ambience. The food was great. I had the lobster mac and cheese, without the lobster, which was very indulgent, but a bit heavy. I would recommend getting something else or eating it halfway. I also had the lear salad, which I did not enjoy because they had so much shaved parmesan on the salad. Also had the chocolate soufflé, which was delicious and not too sweet. The staff was very nice, but our waiter was a bit rude at times, which is why I took a star off.

Had a graduation luncheon consisting of 20 people, the food was delicious; however, the service was terrible. The waiter, Diego, was rude not only to my guests but to me as well. I pulled him aside and asked him if he was okay because he appeared to be overwhelmed and not very catering. He continued his rudeness till the end. He never cut the cake and told me that if I wanted to I could make a complain. He cashed in on the 20% gratuity. I called the following day to speak to the manager, Denis, who was indeed was polite, he apologized and said he would talk to him. I don’t think that I will ever book his place for a celebration.

Great brunch! A little pricey but well worth the cost. The drinks were overpriced for brunch where normally they offer specials. It was my birthday and had called in advance for deals. We had to reinforce twice the deal we were told for drinks over the phone but it all worked out. Great service otherwise. Food was terrific. Will def be back.

We celebrated my 60th birthday on Saturday March 14. The food was very good especially the steaks and the fish special. Monk fish. The service was not good. Our waiter was not attentive and even shouted at us when we wanted to order coffee with the cake. He became so abusive that we had to get the manager. I never experienced such bad service in any restaurant like this. It’s too bad, it would ha e been an exceptional evening.

This is a restaurant that you just can’t go wrong by going to it. The food is very good, very flavorful, the menu is diverse and filled with continental yet French inspired choices, some American classics, some Italian choices, in a very sophisticated regal Decour and atmosphere. The service is okay, sometimes it’s very good sometimes it’s a little cold and distant. It is very nice for large groups as the tables are set far apart and the dining room can accomodate many tables. It also had an excellent brunch! There is valet parking and it’s located within a beautiful park. It’s actually a positive surprise located within a working-class area of Long Island. I would not have expected it to be right there.

Dined there 12⁄6. Waiter wouldn’t allow us to order from Prix Fixe menu. Had to get manager who apologized for waiters error. Food was good, not great. Service was barely satisfactory. Ordered two Santa Margarita glasses of wine. Looked on check was charged $ 32. I buy that wine in the store for $ 18 a bottle. That’s a nerve. Costs them $ 2.40 for a glass and they charge you $ 16. The whole check was ridiculous. Would not go there again.

This restaurant is more for the older crowd. However, if you are like me who loves fine dining; this is the place to go. Food was delicious. No complaints. Service was fantastic.

The service was pretty marginal. Went for my 25th anniversary… I was a waiter in NY for 20 years, so I may be pickier than most, but there were some major problems here. There was so much time between courses, took at least 20 minutes to get a drink on the table, had to ask for water refills and chase down the check. The place was pretty empty during the week and there was ample staff; when I passed the kitchen door, I heard a large group yucking it up… so that’s where they were! Glassware was dingy, both wine and the hurricane lamps. Step it up here, guys. Come out of the kitchen and pay proper attention to your customers. Our waiter just seemed lazy! Your wine knowledge means nothing if you take forever to bring me a glass. A clean one would be nice.

Wow for a GREAT night out make this a stop but bring you charge card. Great food at a fair price. Plating makes the quality food only taste better. Casual service as the food is not mass prepared but cooked to order. Bar only adds to the pleasure of the evening. During the summer we went to th friday Lobster dinner GREAT meal at a fair price. GREAT wine choices and an excessive number of choices. CHEF has 4 course wine Tasting every month a different country and some are off the scale great, some are just simple good choices but always a nice night out. Service is good to GREAT but is not always consistant(this is just a minor issue.) This is a must go to for a meal or for the evening. Enjoy.

Sorry to burst the 5 star bubble here, but that’s overrating this place by a fair margin. We’ve gone for brunch twice now within the past month. Food is very good. No issues there. Same with the atmosphere. Nice grounds, a very nicely appointed & open room that takes in good views all year round. The problem is with the service. In a nutshell, they are inconsistent with informing you about the specials(a bigger issue than normal given the few brunch menu options to begin with), and they can be painstakingly slow & inaccurate with orders. We overheard several specials only because they were mentioned to other tables. With 2 brunches, this happened both times. We also had one course on each occasion that was delivered incorrectly. Once it was fixed quickly, the other time not so much. A billing overcharge took two attempts and over 20 minutes to fix. Still can’t get my head around that one. We were in no hurry so these issues(aside from the bill correction) were no huge red flags for us. But… for what you pay, service should be way more concise and consistent. I’m just thankful I wasn’t with anyone that would’ve flipped out over these things. If you’re in the least bit of a hurry, particular about excellent service or just a little impatient about mistakes, etc. our experiences would have likely driven you nuts.

This restaurant seems to do everything right. In the past few months I’ve been here for their regular menu, the monthly wine/meal pairing, and for lunch, everything has been fabulous, nothing wrong ever. Every dish was perfect, the wine excellent, and the service impeccable. I can’t say enough positive about this place, and will continue to come back so long as they keep their standards high. If I could possibly find anything to find fault, it is of very little significance. They need a better beer selection, and I couldn’t find any beers on tap, that’s the only thing I could find fault with and it that’s all. Keep up the good work.

Classier than the steakhouses with food that’s even better. All the dishes seemed inspired, from the delicious and edible potato chip bowl that housed my mashed potatoes to the perfectly seasoned and tender steak. Everything was at the level you would expect at these prices. The décor was a little too Victorian for me, but the atmosphere was calm and inviting. It is an excellent place to go for that special occasion.

The Palm Court exudes traditional elegance. Crowd is slightly older, but that is to be expected. Food was delicious, and we ordered a lot of it. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The highlight of my meal was the cauliflower soup: if it’s a special, I highly recommend it. A close second was the beef wellington. I would recommend this place if you need a nice spot for an intimate dinner or for a large party: so basically, for all occassions. I hope to be back.

We celebrated my daughter and her boyfriend’s graduation from law school at this restaurant. It was the perfect place to celebrate because it was elegant, and the food was sublime. The dining room was really pretty. There was a large crowd of us, and I don’t recall what all was eaten, but I had their caesar salad and herb-crusted lamb… both quite good. We all sampled an assortment of yummy, if not ultra decadent, desserts. Everyone enjoyed what they ate. This is a great«special occasion» restaurant !!
