This is the place to go to hike with breathtaking views of the Dumbarton Bridge. It’s kinda tricky to find, and it looks like they’re still developing this place. The trails are messy and not fully connected to each other. I recommend going and getting a map/brochure to figure it out. There is one right by the bridge that I need to check out. The one I stumbled upon was further out and didn’t take me up to the bridge. Parking is available too!

It’s an okay place to check out in East Palo Alto, but there’s nothing to write home about. Just basically a 1.2 mile stretch of flatland from the parking lot to the observation decks near the Dumbarton Bridge. No restrooms, water fountains, or anything special about this location.

***3.5 stars*** this is essentially an extension of the baylands nature preserve, that starts in east palo alto and runs into menlo park. a beautiful trail that allows you to walk, hike, jog, or bike, while gazing into the bay or just taking in the nature that surrounds you. my sense is that this area is not well-known, since i’ve only seen a handful of people each time i’ve been here. there are no restrooms along this trail, unless you run to the baylands, no water fountains, and also no mile markers. however, you will have peace and quiet if you come here.
