Have stopped in twice, maybe a year apart. It’s not that the food isn’t delicious, but I just prefer not to venture into the ghetto for tacos, rice and beans. But, we all know, that’s where you need to go if you want to get authentic, real deal grub. Both times I’ve gotten their three taco plate with rice and beans for six bucks and change. It’s not $ 6.75, which is still presents great value. Have tried a good number of their meat options here and the cabeza is far and away the best. Like the genius that I am, I only got it my first visit of course. Lengua, carnitas, asada and al pastor all above par in flavor. It’s hard to go wrong here no matter what you settle on. Large space inside with plenty of tables and outside in a little patio area as well. Food is prepared relatively quickly. Pretty run down area and you’ll see some shady stragglers just milling around the building, but if you come during daylight hours, it shouldn’t be too much of a concern.

I’m pretty disappointed, I came here so many times and I usually get the burritos, always being served hot and ready to eat. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case! My burrito was served and I asked for salsa verde with no salsa what so ever, with only 10% meat in the whole entire burrito. maybe less, and mostly containing veggies, beans, and rice, like I ordered a vegetarian style which I didn’t! The tortillas were pretty cold too, like they didn’t even try to heat up, and the service was whatever to the«specific employees”(older people) who served my burrito last night! I was pretty disappointed and gave the rest of my burrito to my friend and he agreed as well to the burrito not being served up the best way! Nevertheless he finished it, so we didn’t have to waste any food. I’m probably not coming back for a while, for right now I’m in bad terms with the taqueria, and I would recommend curious people to check it out to see if it’s not only me that feels this way about the food and new prices!!! :/

Kinda sketchy place tbh, I never eat there I just order to go. Three stars because the food is delicious best tacos, but they always mess up your order, always and it sucks.

I’ve come here several times and really wanted to like it since it seemed local and authentic. Unfortunately, I was not impressed by the food or the prices. Their burritos are not bad, but I would not recommend anything else here. The food was really greasy but not very good. There are better places to get Mexican food in the neighborhood.

I like this place but you better not come hungry your going to have to wait 45 – 1 hr wait for food plus you also have to make sure your order is correct if your taking out. My personal experience here3 times I ordered take out I opened my burrito and they had given me a meat burrito not shrimp. Which took another 15 min to make. They have so many people consuming that they rush and are not careful. Overall I like the food but the wait kills me don’t come during rush hour or pre order on the phone.

Did a quick late night run for dinner. An ok place if you need some decent food and it’s late. Had a chicken burrito and a super nachos. The burrito was standard, nothing special. The nachos with carne asada was more fun and appetizing. Very spacious restaurant, but I don’t really feel safe eating there, especially at night. Feels like something is bound to happen, but this is just me.

Stopping by around lunchtime on Veterans Day, I endured a sullen, rude cashier; then we waited 27 minutes for 3 tacos, a torta and 2 kids meals(and it wasn’t that busy), and finally we got 4 mistakes on our order: hot sauce instead of mild, kids enchiladas instead of quesadillas, retired beans instead of whole black beans, and after being assured that chips came with the meal, I had to go back and but them after our order was finally ready. As for the food, the torta bun was moist, the carnitas was tasty and moist as well; the enchiladas were dry and tasteless; the rice was full of flavor and mixed well with our beans. I checked he receipt afterward, and for what it’s worth, the kitchen gave us the order they were given, it’s just the cashier who changed nearly every aspect of our meal. If they can get their ordering down, this place has potential.

Kind of disappointed by this place. I was looking for some fast good food and ended up not getting either. The wait was nearly 30 minutes. When I finally got my tacos, the order was wrong. After getting my order right 45+ minutes later, the tamales were super dry. By dry I mean crunchy, and the carnitas had an old pork taste. I should have just found a taco truck.

Place has really lost its touch. The place was dirty today, salsa bar looks nasty, I asked for a bag of chips and got a greasy bag with stale chips, mind you one little bag. They really need to get it together. Disappointed for sure

Others don’t compare…3 brothers has my heart. Who wants lobster, when you can have Tacos!!! Management has changed several times within the last couple of years but the food has always stayed fresh and delicious. I will literally drive from San Jose all the waaay to EPA just to eat here. Keep up the good work!

The service sucked. They should hire a new cashier because the girl that was taking our order had no patience whatsoever. And second, the food wasn’t as good as people say and there was a hair in my boyfriend’s taco. Not coming to this place again. If I could rate this with 0 stars I would.

food is as good as it gets. Carnitas here is so on point and flavorful so are the rice and beans. service isn’t the fastest but for makes up for it. definitely coming back here for more!

Food: Carnitas tacos are to die for! The meat is mouthwatering, flavorful, and has a little crunch to it that takes you to heaven in just one bite. 5⁄5 for smaaaaack carnitas! Service: The wait time is a little longer than expected, but it’s worth it to me. Minus one star for making my hungry tastebuds suffer. Cleanliness: The restaurant itself is not too shabby. There are no customer trash cans. So if no one has gone through and picked up the leftover trays, it might look kind of dirty. Atmosphere: It’s located in East Palo Alto. Expect a variety of people that may be lingering outside. Overall: I haven’t experienced anything that would make me not want to come back. Three Brothers Tacos is a must try!

Stopped here on the way back to Milpitas. We ordered the tacos. I ordered some asada and pastor and they were very yummy. They were very flavorful. I would definitely stop by here again for more tacos when I am in the area.

I found this place as a nearby dinner option after a long and satisfying IKEA trip. I was excited to come here based on the 4 star average, and even moreso as I pulled into the parking lot and saw a large nice spacious restaurant on the outside, which was slightly deceptive, because on the inside, the place was not nice at all. The atmosphere was a little dirtier than I thought it would be, though there was plenty of seating and lot of open space and TVs inside. The line formation is a little messy and unclear, as the cashier was about to take the order of 2 ladies who arrived behind me. I usually use the restroom to wash my hands before I eat, but it was a 1 person restroom and I think you need a key, but I’m not sure. I ordered the 3 tacos with beans and rice($ 6.75). The price is otherwise $ 1.50 per taco. I got the lengua, cabeza, and carne asada meat with onions and cilantro. They serve a lime and radishes with your meal. The tacos were pretty small, but the meat was generously portioned in comparison with taco size. Meat was pretty tender and moist. Chips are an extra 75 cents/bag. It wasn’t very filling for 1 order of 3 tacos + beans + rice. Overall a good place to come for a quick meal, but don’t expect to feel satisfied if you’re hungry and this is definitely not a nice sit-down place.

Firstly, loved the fact that I was the only non-hispanic in the room — always a sign of quality for a mexican restaurant. I’d been in meetings near by and needed somewhere quick for a bite — this was easy to find, easy to park, easy to order and just as easy to eat. Good choice of dishes — I’m no expert of mexican cuisine but this was all cooked to order, and it tasted great. Will come again next time I’m down in the Valley.

Something I love about the Bay Area is that no matter where I am, I’m almost always in close proximity to good tacos. Although my love of fancy food is well documented(and admittedly, both on Unilocal as well as my waistline), my first love is always gonna be tacos and a cold Jarritos. But not if I have to wait fuckin’ 25 minutes to get them. IT’S TACOS, NOTEXACTLYTHEHARDESTTHINGINTHEWORLDTOPREPARE. I grew up going to taquerias my entire life. 10 minutes is one thing. Almost half an hour is another. For four tacos. Really? This entire time, we were not offered anything, nor any explanation, and while watching everyone else around us get their food I had to wonder, why was everyone else around us served first and given much better service? Couldn’t help noticing we were the only patrons of Asian descent in the establishment that day. Hmmm. Lastly, my husband — who almost never says anything in these types of incidents, because he has a mouthy ass wife who does it enough for the two of us — actually complained, and instead of apologizing, the women behind the counter straight up laughed at us while we were on our way out. Classy. Oh before I forget, the tacos were ok. But not enough to justify this kinda BS. Y’all should drive the extra 5 – 10 minutes and go to El Grullense in Redwood City instead.

Was surprised they have no chips n salsa like every other mex restaurant. Also no salsa or sour cream with any of our food. Charge 35cents for a side of it. Nothing special with what we ordered. Got there at 9. They were already putting all their sides away(jalapeño, pickled veg, radish etc.) They close at 10. Close to the hood and pretty ok lookin inside. No going back unless im trying something else. At a taco this guy kept beggin me to try and it waz AIIGHT… nothing special 1 star for nice employees. 1 star for being fast.

I guess it’s not too surprising that some of the more authentic taquerias in Palo Alto are in East Palo Alto. Three Brothers has two of their three locations here. This would appear to be the original, flagship store. It’s fairly large and roomy, with decent parking and plenty of seating. There is a slight sketch factor, but it’s not enough to make me flee; they keep the dining room very clean. Meals eaten-in are also delivered directly to tables, rather than just via servers barking out a number. And like it’s sister restaurant on the other side of 101, the food here is very solid and dirt cheap: – Regular burrito:($ 5) It’s been a while since I had such a large, well-constructed burrito for a mere Abe(I’m thinking it was 2009?). I chose pollo asado. Very tasty. 4.5 stars. – Taco plate:($ 6) Possible the cheapest taco plate I’ve ever encountered, yet one of the largest. The carnitas was delicious, dare I say… «perfect». Carne asada was damn good too. 4.5 stars. – Mole plate:($ 9) Good quality chicken on the bone, baked or simmered in a dark, brown mole. As mole goes, it was pretty unexciting; the flavor was bland with ‘smokiness’ being the primary component.(4 out of 10 on the mole scale). But most taquerias don’t do mole very well, and so my expectations were low. Still, the amount of food on the plate, including freshly steamed tortillas, still made this a great deal. 3.5 stars Unfortunately, like it’s sister restaurant, Three brothers tends to have a very slow kitchen; whereas most taquerias in the area can crank out quality burritos or tacos at a high rate, 3Bros. seems to take a minimum of ten minutes, even with no line. For lunch plates(enchiladas, chicken mole) it can take 15 to 20 minutes, minimum. So it detracts from the ‘fast food’ component that I value as part of a weekday taqueria lunch. Dan B’s Taqueria checklist for Three Brothers: x Food? — Good x Prices? — Super low! x Portions? — avg to above avg Light crowds — mixed x Standout items? — carnitas Chips + salsa included? — No, but homemade chips can be had for a mere 75 cents.

Shocked. Absolutely shocked. I popped in for breakfast before a meeting at Menlo Park, expecting little. Just wanted something before I sat in meetings all day. Delicious huevos con chorizo, very inexpensive, and the place wasn’t busy at all for breakfast. I’m definitely gonna be a regular!
