Absolutely delightful. We arrived from Florida tired and hungry. We decided to eat at a local breakfast spot. Found Debbie’s on Unilocal and decided to come by. They have such a friendly group of young people managing the restaurant. Very friendly and personable. The four of us each had different options for brunch. Delicious, each and everyone of our choices. I highly recommend Debbie’s no matter what you are craving.

Came here after the line to Thumbs Up was too long. In the end though we probably could have waited in the line and been done eating at Thumbs Up at the same time(maybe even faster) than we had at Debbie’s. Our food took about an hour(maybe more) to come out. I had biscuits and gravy and my buddy had the chicken and waffles. Both were relatively good however is was not wait-for-an-hour good.

I chose this place because of proximity to where I was staying and the pictures looked decent… BUT sadly location and photos should not have been my factors for decision making. The service was SUPER slow. It took our waiter 10 mins to bring two teas, two waters and lemons… and please understand that these were THREE separate trips and the lemon turned out to be that lemon juice you buy in the lemon shaped containers from the grocery store. I sat by the door and watched customer after customer stand around waiting for someone to tell them that the establishment was seat yourself. Two couple’s next to us had as many complaints with the wait(one couple refused to leave a tip and one couple asked if they could go ahead and pay their bill BEFORE the food came, so that there would be no further holdup when they finished). FINALLY, almost 40 minutes after ordering(and 50 minutes after arriving), my meal arrived. I will be very honest, it was tasty, BUT not tasty enough to overlook the wait for everything. We arrived about 1230 and finally got our food about 1320. While sitting I read through the Unilocal reviews and was in awe that it got such high ratings by some customers, although there were also several that had my experience. My friend said maybe the service was sketch because it was New Year’s…and maybe it was, but service this inconsistent gives me no desire to return. I give it a 3, because my salmon was tasty, but the service automatically dropped it 2 stars from the jump.

The environment when you first walk is so welcoming and has a home feeling to it. This was our first time here and we ordered the chicken and waffle meal with cheese eggs and a uptown. The food was GREAT the menu had so many great options it was hard to decide. Will be returning to try some more. Also the cereal wall was pretty cool it gives more options if you have small children. Thanks for the great service.

Breakfast was amazing. Server was polite and professional. Limited seating, but the music and atmosphere was relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed my pancake and omelet. Everything was top notch.

I was very pleased. I started following on Instagram and was determined to get here. I went on a Tuesday sound 1:30. The food was great! For appetizers, I ordered the wings and chicken nachos. For lunch, my party of 7 had don’t of everything. from country chicken and gravy, chicken and waffles, pancakes and eggs, to grilled hamburger. We left very satisfied. It was easy to find. Good customer service. I will be going back.

Food was great. I had the overloaded shrimp and grits and a side a pancakes(3 are included in a side order). The only down side is that seating is open so you have watch over potential seats like a hawk with other guests who are waiting for seats. I would not recommend for large parties die to the seating and small space. The wait was fairly quick and prices were reasonable for the amount of food served.

The food is delicious here. Tastes just like home cooking. Big plus is the meat in their dishes is turkey, great for people who don’t eat beef or pork. When they’re busy, they’re busy so the waitresses can’t be the most attentive. This means I sat for a good 15 minutes before I was even greeted. But the waitresses are not rude so that helps. I’ve had several things here, chicken and waffles, mashed potatoes, turkey burger, biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled egg, and it’s all been good. East Point needs places like this. I hope they stick around. Personally, I like them better than Thumbs Up. Better food, better service, nicer atmosphere.

I had a delectable Greek omelette! The best part about this place is the house hot sauce on the table. This recipe has to be locked up at the local bank. Very friendly!!! Come here!

I’m visiting Atlanta and I was looking for a good place to eat on Unilocal and Debbie’s Delights caught my eye… this place is good. Everything is house made and the workers are super nice. The strawberry lemonade and chicken and waffles were AMAZING. PLEASE go here.

Came on a rainy Sunday because I didn’t feel like cooking. I really really really wanted the shrimp and grits because, well. it was perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon! Parking is limited but there was space on the street(2hr). Upon entry there were three other customers finishing up. I was greeted and told to sit wherever I’d like by a nice young lady. I sat at the bar and she gave me a menu. She returned a few minutes later and I asked for the shrimp and grits. Unfortunately they were«out» of grits. O.k. I was a little miffed. But I went ahead and ordered the captain crunch French toast meal. As others have stated this is a pork free establishment. They serve turkey bacon. I’m a fitness nut but I love a good slice of bacon with my cheat meal breakfast. Anywho the food was great and so was the service. I will definitely return. Give it a try! Side note: people say this is the alternative to the thumbs up that’s nearby. it’s not. I prefer this place over them mainly because of the service and the specialty French toast.

Me and my wife usually go to thumbs up. But I was trying to find something different, and I did! First off the atmosphere was cool the music the big pane glass window ect. The food was delicious. We actually came two days in a row!!! You will enjoy it! Also tip for parking there is a side street next to the big church. Also look for the roosters and hens you will know your in the right place

Excellent food, excellent hospitality and excellent prices. It’s a gem South of I20. Other than Thumbs Up, I would always drive in town to have early breakfast meetings but now that I have Debbie’s(cue camera for close up of a smiling face) I no longer need to fight traffic to have an exceptional non-franchised breakfast. Be patience with the service because it’s only one cook and server most days but they are wonderful people in a wonderful environment. I’ve yet to eat anything I didn’t love.

Since the line was too long at Thumbs Up Diner, my husband and I ventured across the street to Debbie’s. I’m glad we did! Our breakfast was delicious. We sat at the counter where we noshed on the chicken & waffles(some of the best I’ve ever had), eggs, potatoes, and raisin toast. The coffee was plentiful and very strong. Service was attentive and epitomized Southern hospitality. I definitely want to come back, especially to try the lunch menu. Note — it’s a pork free establishment, but the turkey bacon looked pretty good! I highly recommend Debbie’s Delights to anyone looking to try a new breakfast in East Point.

I’ve been here plenty of times before I joined Unilocal and will continue to go. I’ve mainly gone for breakfast and have made the«fish for breakfast? «my favorite meal. It’s consistently good and with it being a made to order kitchen, I can make substitutions when I need to. Shrimp and grits, cap’n crunch French Toast and anything with the turkey bacon is a sure winner. Susan(the owner) does most of the cooking and runs a tight ship when it comes to satisfying her customers. No pork establishment, so those of you who don’t eat it, go in w/no worry. People say it’s an alternative to ThumbsUp. For me, it’s my first choice. Give it a try. Understand it’s a small restaurant with a small staff and attention and love go into each meal. Get some cookies and fall in love with her baked goods.

I have to be honest and say that the way we found DD’s was because the restaurant across the street that we really wanted to go to’s line was out the door. We were too hungry to wait so DD’s basically saved our lives. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small– one medium-sized room – actually. The décor is nothing fancy but it’s not ugly either and I loved the cereal bar idea. I wonder how many people actually use it though instead of ordering a hot breakfast/lunch. Either way, still a really cool idea and it seems that for Debbie’s it works as part of their décor as well. The hostess was really nice and sat the three of us immediately. I ordered the chicken and waffles(because, who can resist?), my wife ordered the shrimp and grits and my brother in law ordered an omelet. With my meal, I ordered a cup of black coffee and this fact alone is the reason for my four star review. I could not get a hot, halfway decent cup of coffee to and I ordered three of them! The first cup I ordered before the food came out; when it got to me it was lukewarm – not the way you want your coffee – but I sipped it anyway because our waitress was so busy tending to the tables around us that she didn’t come to check on us for a while. When she returned I asked her for a fresh cup of HOT coffee. She brought back a cup of ‘slightly warmer than the first cup but still not hot’ coffee. Ugh. Then after we’d eaten she apologized for the bad coffee and asked if I’d like a to-go cup of a fresh batch. I don’t know why I said yes, maybe I was thinking, «third time’s the charm»? This time I took one sip and ended up pouring it out in the parking lot. Disappointing. Mind you, I didn’t even care that it was cheap, flavorless coffee – I’m not that picky – I just wanted something hot. On the brightside, my brother in law stated that both his omelet and his sweet tea were good. In fact, he said it was the best sweet tea he’d ever had!(Keep in mind he’s from another country, this was his first time in the United States and trying southern sweet tea but he loved it). My wife enjoyed her shrimp and grits and my chicken and waffles were pretty good. The chicken in particular was crispy, seasoned well and quite delicious. But, to have a breakfast spot and not have at least decent coffee is a little bit unforgivable. I would’ve given 3.5 stars had I been able to

First, let’s be clear that I think Debbie’s was having an «off day» on July 3rd, when I visited. Several people from my neighborhood love it there, which is why I checked it out. There were probably more people stopping in due to the holiday and they were under-staffed(one server and one cook for the restaurant, which I heard the server *yell* at a customer shortly before we left), but the whole situation was handled so poorly that I can’t see myself returning to give them another shot. If I could break it down, I’d give 1 star for service and 4 for the food that day. There were a total of 10 people in the restaurant when my husband and I arrived, so it didn’t seem that they were slammed. I should have known something was up because they all looked a little miffed. It took 20 minutes to get drinks on the table, and our server never mentioned anything to us about being under-staffed. Patrons tend to be a lot more understanding and patient when you let them know on the front end that you’re struggling. You know how you keep people from getting grumpy while their breakfast takes over an hour to come out of the kitchen? Coffee refills! We were never offered a coffee or water refill, which really, really, did not help. The pancake breakfast plate was pretty good and priced well, and I would definitely order it again if it came with a beverage refill and kinder service. It also helps to get the check on the table when your table is done eating and is staring at empty plates and glasses, or acknowledge them when they politely ask for the check. It all felt like a slap in the face to us as locals, as if Debbie herself said WEDON’T WANTYOURMONEYHERE.

I must say breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and small spots always intrigue me. I came across Susan(the owner) when I went to use the restroom and seen there was a fairly young woman whipping up all of these delicious meals. I ordered the potatoes(soo bomb ;]) pancakes, cheese eggs(whipped to perfection) & my friend got the shrimp and grits. those came w/pieces of Turkey bacon sprinkled on top lol… Turkey is the only choice of bacon I believe(a plus for me)…the house made lemonades are delish… I will definitely be returning… I love the cereal bar look as well… I’m anxious to try the deserts. :D

I just don’t like sweet grits, otherwise it would of been 4 stars… I had the shrimp and grits, and it’s very pleasing to the eyes. However, I’m not used to that flavor profile. The southern style hash browns tasted just like home(brought back wonderful memories)!!! Nice atmosphere, with urban music playing, and good customer service…

I’ve been to this place several times and I’m surprised that I haven’t written a review before. Now that more popular place in this area is Thumbs Up dinner. That place can be over-crowded & sometimes the food isn’t worth the wait. My opinion to everyone coming to this area is to give Debbie’s a try. All the food is made to order so be prepared to wait a min or two. But the service is outstanding, food good and you will eat maybe get a desert and be ready to go before most people that are trying to get into Thumbs Up. If Thumbs is busy give this place a try.
