The food here is good for the most part. However, it definitely requires patience as you will be waiting for a while whether your the only one in the resturant or dinning with the lunch crowd. In fact if your lunch is only an hour long, I would not recommend dinning in. Call about 30 minutes ahead for takeout. On my most recent visit I ordered the Blackend Salmon & Pasta. The order took about 30 minutes and I was the only one there and the Salmon was over done. RATING: ITCYAANGWAN

Was really good, got my money’s worth. Wish the delivery was faster though but the customer service was really good.

Food was bland. Peas and rice and patties very dry. Service was ok. No sense of urgency when taking dine in order.

Love the food. The exotic juice menu is incredible. I tried this place with a friend about 5 years ago, and we were happy to find it again on our annual Atlanta trip, having forgotten the name and location. We recognized it when we walked in by the posters on the wall. My only complaint was the jerk chicken had too many tiny pieces of bone, and I had to be careful not to swallow them. My friends enjoyed their dishes tremendously. The yellow rice was amazing. I’ll be back next year.

Visited this joint with coworkers and tried their Jerk Chicken with rice and beans, cabbage and plantains. The meat had nothing spicy about it and tasted old meat from the day before, one of our coworkers got the runs and indigestion. The patties, beef and curried chicken were dry as bread. The plantains were hard and dry and weren’t even sweet Nothing seemed to have been cooked today. This was a terrible experience

I have eaten at Silver Delight on many occasions in the past and it has been about 3+ years since my last visit. I was hanging with some friends and we had a taste for some Jamaican food and we were in the area and I suggested Silver Delight. This is a collective review of all my visits. I normally ordered oxtails in the past with oxtail gravy for my rice and peas with cabbage and fried plantains. I was never disappointed. Everything was always seasoned with great balance in flavors. They make all their juices and pineapple ginger is my favorite when it is available. During this particular visit, we all wanted wings. Upon reading over the menu, we spotted Jerk and BBQ wings with fries and lemonade/tea for $ 7.99, but our excitement was quickly shattered when we were informed that they were out of wings. We debated leaving but our server convinced us to stay and my party of four we ordered the Jerk Chicken plate(jerk chicken, rice, cabbage and fried plantains). We started our meal with a chicken patty and beef patty. Once again everything was seasoned well but a few of my pieces were dry but flavorful. Thanks goodness for the side of jerk sauce to dip. We had lemonade to drink and it was so good, but it did not look like lemonade(favored a tea & lemonade mix). They make the lemonade in-house as well. If you need a Jamaican fix in the Atlanta area, this is a sure win even if they don’t have everything on the menu.

Food was tasty. They have a 99 A rating by health department. Staff was friendly. Not sure why folks are giving them low stars, I will most likely come back! I got curry goat and yellow rice. Next time I’ll try one of their lunch specials or patties. Only drawback was the A/C was out. Find a table in front of one of the fans.

I wish I could give them more be I like the food but the service is plain out the worst. No matter how long u call ahead the food is never ready and that is if u can get them to answer the phone. No matter how many times you come they will not value u as a customer. The ac doesn’t work so u can forget about waiting inside. It is a oven. I am a vegetarian so I really wish they would get it together but at this point this will truly be my last visit. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. I hope east point get another Caribbean Resturant soon or else I will be going to old national. It’s a shame. This spot could have been a gem.

I had my teenager daughter with me and the goofy kid behind the counter/waiter was acting strangely. The last time I was there, he spoke to me like I didn’t speak English so I really don’t like his narrow behind. I had to ignore him because he was irritating me by making weird noises and ad libs. We had to eat outside because it was hot inside the spot and I knew once we started eating hot food that it would only get worse. So we went outside, and the food came out pretty quick and then it was like we were being attacked with flies. And that wasn’t cool at all because I could barely eat as they were really aggressive flies. I spent a lot of time swatting. The ambiance? There is none. The food. It was alright. The jerk was on the dry and old side. I’ve had much better jerk in atlanta. The rice was very bland and I had the yellow rice. It tasted like it came out of a box. The sorrel was great as they do make their own beverages, mainly juices. The food is a couple bucks overpriced for the quality and portion size. I will probably not return unless someone else is paying and I am really craving… that probably won’t happen.

Food was ready on time. They run out of ingredients. So, call ahead. Friendly service. The food was delicious! I strongly recommend Silver if you live in the area!

I wish I would have read the review BEFORE I went there today. This was my 2nd visit, in(2nd time within two years, the first time was similar to today but I didn’t write a review) Ordered the Curry Chicken, rice/peas lunch combo, $ 6.41 with tax. Waited 25 minutes to get this«meal.» It only became ready when I asked to cancel the order and issue a refund. The parboiled rice was greasy and cold and for $ 6.41, there should be more than 1 drumstick chopped in half. I have to agree with the others, the service is less than desirable. Overall, this is NOT a good meal for the price, taste, and service. Save the frustration and get some greasy fried, unhealthy but tasty food from the other eatery in the plaza, at least they’re friendly when you walk through the door.

This Caribbean restaurant does not hold a candle to other Caribbean eats in Atlanta. I went here hoping to have food full of spices but what I got was my server being sent home and as for me I was forgotten about. The young lady server, I had to flag down did finish waiting on me and apologized for what happen. I really wanted this to be good for when I am in the mood for caribbean. Well it was not. The jerk chicken was good but the rice had no flavor, the cabbage and peas tasted like they came out of can. They had the jerk sauce on the side. Which I used to flavor my rice. Again sauce failed to provide me with that flare of the islands. All round disappointed. Another lady brought me my check and offered me tea and apologized. Yep a free TEA! I guess she was the owner. I knew the other reviews on Unilocal was not good and they were spot on!

3 – 3.5 stars. Why all the negative reviews? Granted, the last time I visited was about half a year ago, but I can still taste the moist brown chicken special and the oxtail stew that melts in your mouth. used to go about once a month 2012 – 2013, and this always hit the spot. Fast take-out and great value for lunch specials.

The food is mostly ‘tasty.’ It’s not the best Jamaican food you’ll get but it’s far from bad. The worst part is the service. The wait for any and everything is excruciating! I once ordered three dinner plates and a salad to go and I swear it was about a half hour of waiting. I once tried to call ahead and they pretended to take my order but then finished the call with ‘we’ll be happy to prepare that for you when you get here’ and sure enough they didn’t start to prepare it until I walked in the door. There’s no winning with these folks. I go here at least very other month cause the spouse really likes their curry chicken but each trip is a lesson in patience.

I have frequented this Jamacian spot for the past few years and it is sad to say they have lost the talent in the kitchen about 6 or so months ago. The food was great now it is not good. My most recent experience I had their Brown Stew Chicken lunch special(which is an excellent deal at $ 6) the rice was hard, crunchy and tasted burnt. The chicken had a nice color and gravy but It was very bland. Sadly the best thing about the meal was the plantains. I am giving them 3 stars because I remember when the food was delicious and I could not get enough. I am hoping they will find their way back to greatness soon :-).

First off let me say that I’ve been to this place a few times. Everytime I go I try my best to be enthusiastic and every time I go I’m disappointed. Ive had the jerk chick the fish & shrimp special their coco bread the owner even gave me a free homemade drink and all that I can say is that everything and I mean EVERYTHING was horrible. I’m a first generation«Jamerican» I was raised on Jamaican food & culture and this place right here is wrong. The rice and peas was bland, the jerk wasn’t spiced and the over ripened plantain was over cooked. The coco bread tasted like paper and that free drink I received was not tasty at all. The worst part of it all is that I went when I was super hungry smh

I read the reviews before I bought the Groupon and now I wish that I had missed my emails for a couple of days. I am a foodie, I cook good food, I drive for good food, I hunt for good food and I don’t mind paying for good food and service. But this was NOT A GOODEXPERIENCE!
It started when I call to make a reservation and told the host that this was a Groupon meal and I was told that I would have to wait 24hrs. before we could come in, I said no and I was coming in there in 30mins. He had to call back after talking to the Manager and gave us the okay. The Groupon was only $ 15.00 for dinner for two and included one appetizer, the savings of 58%. I ordered the App. &2 entrees + 5 drinks $ 1.50 + 1 extra entrée and a Beef patty, their 18% gratuity they added and the total with Groupon was $ 34.06 + $ 15.00 that I paid Groupon and I got the grand total of $ 50.00 When we sat down at the first table, we had to move due to the table cloth being dirty. The next table and others were not so fresh and clean either, stains and grease spots. But me being a man that had already spent money was hell bent on staying. 40mins. to get the food to the table is hard to chew, since it was only 1 other couple in this place. The food; Beef patty filling was good, but the pastry was tough after they put it in the microwave. Waiter ask if it was warm and I said no, he said I’ll fix that and took it to the back, zapped it and brought the same one back«I don’t think they should have done that.» The Conch fritter was a nice fluffy hoe cake with very little conch in it but the jelly dip was great! Curry Goat was tender and tasty, just not much of it. Coconut Shrimp came with 8 small shrimp not over cooked and the coconut milk was rich and good. Pineapple Glazed Chicken was described as 2 choice pieces of chicken breast stuffed with fresh fruits and vegs. All and all it was 2 pounded fried chicken fingers«you can’t stuff a chick– finger!» Each entrée came with rice and peas, it was ok nothing special and Plantains«2 slices» they were not ripe and looked a bit old and dry. I eat Jamaican all the time and 1 plate will feed me and 1 other, but not here and I wonder if it was because of the Groupon? I’ll keep going to the Scotch bonnet on Campbellton rd. or Afro Dish in the Edgewood market where 2 plates of the best food are only $ 8.00 each and feeds a group of 4 or 5.

Impressively authentic Carribean restaurant strangely located in an obscure shopping center in South Atlanta. Yes, it’s south of I-20. Before you panic and move on, though, consider this: The prices are so low compared to Buckhead/Poncey Highlands/Midtown that you’ll save more on lunch than you’ll burn in gas to get here. This place is worth the trip. The best experience I’ve had with Carribean food was on St. Thomas, when we got away from the tourist center and found a little restaurant full of locals. The prices were much better than down by the docks, the people were nicer, and the food was amazing.(Temper this with the fact that we had eaten mostly bar food or boat food for a few days, so we were easy to impress.) This experience pretty much defined my notion of what«Carribean» food should be. So, it was with some anticipation that I approached this non-sequiter of a restaurant in South Atlanta. Sure, the location is not very island-like, but the memory of the food in the USVI had me motivated. Once inside, it was like deja-vu all over again. The colors, the simple decorations, the layout — all were very similar to the restaurant on St. Thomas. The menu, too, was pretty similar. The big difference was air conditioning, which this restaurant has and which the one in the USVI did not. I like air conditioning. Then the food came. Yay! Island food! We had fried plantains, rice and red beans, made-from-scratch chicken soup and real, not-from-a-bottle jerk sauce on super tender, fall-off-the-bone chicken. It was all excellent! Our waiter appeared to be the owner, as well. He’s from Jamaica and super nice. He has obviously recreated a little peice of home with his restaurant. This is the kind of family restaurant that you can’t help but love, and its also closest I’ve gotten to the real, regular-people, every day Carribean since our trip. I can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I come here fairly often. The employees are friendly and the food is good. I usually opt for the Jerk Chicken, a man of simple choices, and my wife gets the shrimp in coconut milk. We keep meaning to break out and try other items but the current ones are so good! We originally found this place by its involvement in «Taste of East Point». Some business had backed out that day and we are glad this one stuck it through. The portions are large enough to serve as «two meals». Generally we have half for dinner and the other half for lunch the next day. That all depends on your appetite I guess. We have also tried the beef patties, pretty good but not necessarily our favorite item. If you are in the area, give it a try one night. You won’t be disappointed.
