Great specials, great service, never too crowded, cheap drinks. Never a bad experience.

I had been to the Red Bridge Tavern a couple of years ago and had a positive experience there, so I was looking forward to going again when some co-workers decided we’d go there for lunch. We shared an order of little necks and calamari for apps. The little necks were good, the calamari wasn’t very crisp and was a bit rubbery. The consensus was they were ok, nothing spectacular. Trying to limit carbs, I ordered the buffalo wings, spicy garlic shrimp and egg plant fries. The wings were fried well but not very well sauced. Could have used a little more buffalo sauce. The shrimp was a bit salty but good overall. Good flavor and cooked well. The eggplant fries were soft similar to the calamari. I would have expected a bit crunch to them. I shared them with co-workers and they echoed my feelings as well. Just ok at best. As for ambiance, its a fairly simple tavern type of environment. Nothing flashy but not run down by any means. The service was very good. Very attentive to our needs. All in all, my first time there was much better as the food, to me, was night and day. Maybe it was an off day. I wouldn’t refuse to go there again, but definitely not anxious to revisit.

Saw the the 4 star rating so was excited to give it a try! Went with 2 girlfriends for dinner and drinks — I wasn’t impressed with this place at all. Maybe it was an off night with the cook? Local tavern pub type place, looked cozy — looked like a lot of locals there. One plus was our waitress, Hailey was very sweet and friendly. I had a bottle of hard cider and my gf’s both ordered glasses of wine. They both felt their wines were flat and tasted watered down. We started with the calamari appetizer — very bland tasting and the marina needed more seasoning, the pepper rings that came with it was sitting in a cup of oil and had no flavor at all. We should’ve known from the bland marinara sauce that the food to follow wasn’t going to get any better. I ordered the turkey burger and with our waitress’s recommendation, had the eggplant fries. The others ordered scallops entrée and the pork sandwich special. My burger was cooked well however was under seasoned and the eggplant fries were overcooked and didn’t taste very fresh. My gf’s pork sandwich was overcooked and dry — even dousing it with hot sauce didn’t help. The fried eggs on top didn’t add anything to it either. Although we ate our food and smiled our way through — we wouldn’t return. It’s too bad b/c I wasn’t really looking forward to liking this place but it did absolutely nothing for me.

Red Bridge Tavern is a great place for some casual dining in the East Providence area. Attractive and clean inside with a nice bar, it features a diverse menu at very reasonable prices. I had dined here occasionally over the years but have made it more of a «go to» destination, especially when I can’t otherwise decide on a place to go. At the bar they feature a good regular array of draft beer choices — I always have a ‘Gansett– and they get rave reviews from others on their pear martinis. I have tried many of the appetizers but my favorites are the Littlenecks, the Chicken Quesadilla, and the Crybaby Quesadilla(which is a tasty, spicy chicken quesadilla with jalapeño peppers, bacon, and a buffalo sauce). If you are in a sandwich mood, I have enjoyed the Cuban, the Steak Tip, and most frequently the Tuna Melt on rye. There are nice choices for the side — fries, onion rings, salad, chips, and my favorite: the eggplant fries — they just work for me. There is a good choices for entrees also though I have mostly ordered both Salmon Steak preparations, preferring the Lemon Pepper one. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area looking for nice choices, a casual dining experience, at reasonable prices.

I can see this place has an average of 4 stars(so far) and I think that is a fair rating. It’s definitely a solid 4 star pub/grille, and I’m a fan of the place in general. I’ve been here a dozen or more times since moving into East Providence a year ago. It has a nice bar area, with bar seating plus 3 high-top tables that can seat 4 each. There is additional seating with a dozen or so tables separated by a half-wall from the bar and high-top area. There are TV’s, usually with sports or news throughout, and Keno at the bar. There’s generally a nice atmosphere and it’s a little bigger than it looks from the street. However the parking lot is small, so just aim for curb-side parking out front if you can. The food here is great. They have a solid 4 page menu, with various American pub-grub, plus seafood/pasta dishes, plus Portuguese dishes, and they actually do them all pretty well. They also have a constantly changing specials menu slipped in the regular menu, which has had some tasty and pleasant surprises a couple of times. There are a lot of nice Portuguese restaurants in East Providence so it doesn’t surprise me this pub has a Portuguese flair to it.(they have a killer«Portuguese Steak» on the menu, comes with a fried egg on top of your steak and fries, and goes great with a beer, mmm) They have solid burgers, a good grilled chicken wrap, an awesome steak tip with blue cheese and onions wrap. They have huge stuffies and huge crispy bacon potato skins on the appetizer menu, just to name some things. Their seafood dishes can be hit or miss. I had scallops and Italian sausage with red diavlo sauce one time that was great, while another time a Shrimp and Alfredo dish came out bland and tasteless. But generally most dishes here will be pretty good. One thing that can make this place frustrating can be the slow service. Once on a mid-week visit we were seated quickly and the place was fairly busy, but not insane. However the staff were slow and the waitresses kept disappearing into the kitchen(maybe they were cooking too? lol) to the point where patrons were waiting by the kitchen door to order a drink or get their check. I’ve also had snail-paced service at the bar a couple times as well, in the afternoon when the bartender is the only one working. In spite of a couple minor short-comings this is a solid neighborhood pub and grill. And the food you get will generally knock the socks off of chain places, specially if you like Portuguese steaks, beer, and pub grub with sports and keno. This is a good local place.

Haven’t eaten anything from RBT in over 10 years. My husband and I decided to finally give this place a shot after so long. I stopped there on a whim and ordered our takeout meals with EXTREMELY low expectations!!! I was not disappointed! Ordered 2 «build your own burgers» a 4 oz with Gorgonzola cheese, bacon, onions and mushrooms & a fries also a 8 oz with cheese, bacon, chili and onions & a side of onion rings. My husband went in and paid for the food($ 24) and was told the wait would be about 25 mins. 15 mins later the waitress comes out to our car and hands us our food… that was very sweet of her! That made the experience 5 stars right there. We get home and the food was still piping hot and absolutely delicious!!! I have never had such a tasty burger in my life. I will for sure order from RBT again! Try this place out, you will not be disappointed!

Came to Red Bridge for lunch. I had the tuna steak over a ceaser salad with corn salsa. It was delicious, tuna was seared to perfection and the greens were fresh and tasteful. Portion was ample and dressing was just right. Wife had a turkey club which was toasted just right with fresh turkey and generously proportioned with french fries and a pickle on the side. Service was quick, pleasant and attentive. If your ever in east providence I recommend. Only drawback is off street parking lot is small and fills up quick leaving you to have to park on the street.

Well, I started out with low expectations… The décor(or lack thereof) could use updating, but I guess it is all part of the charm. They offer Keno… it’s THAT kind of place. The hostess was very apologetic for the high traffic area two top, where we were located. The server was very friendly. Unfortunately, I was disappointed that they ran out of the lobster roll, which was the reason for the trip. However, the food was good. Their take on the«Cobb» was good, but not really a Cobb. The vegetarian chili was delicious. And the bread basket was amazing; including the corn bread, which I usually don’t like. I will give it another shot next summer, when I hope they will have the lobster roll back in stock!

I love this place. Its got huge tvs and good food that comes out fast. I think the salads are big with tasty toppings, my fav is the honey mustard chicken with the balsamic drizzle. The chowder is good classic rhodie style. Its a nice place to hang and have some drinks and chill for a while. It’s my go to spot.

…To people my age this is Crawshaws of the 60s, just for location. It’s been the Red Bridge Tavern for years but not a place I frequented(in the past) because of the often loud and unsavory bar denizens. I returned several months ago, mainly because the place has returned to the I-dine/air miles programs. And found a substantial change. Although at some times the bar is quite crowded, the excitement generated is not offensive to diners. So there’s my opinionated rationale. Substance wise now, the physical bar area, and actually the entire public area, is a throwback to 1950s(Gameroom) meaning the entire place; walls, ceiling, moldings, are made of varnished Knotty Pine. There is a large bar with about 20 stools, adjacent to a seperate area with several multi seat high tops, then an open but well seperated dining area, often populated by couples and families with children. Additionally, there is a seperate glassed in dining area with a door which is used for overflow dining but could be a small function or meeting room if privacy was desired. Bartenders seem friendly and know all the regulars. Waitstaff are all young, helpful and efficient and give the impression of being family or friends of family. Food runs from burgers and sandwiches to whole meals; fish, chicken, steak, Italian, Portuguese. There are always multiple daily specials. I really like the ribs but last time had Chicken Parm and had to bring half home. Beer list could use a little augmenting with only a few on tap but it’s adequate. Same for the wine but prices are fair, there’s always something to choose from and you’re really not coming here to sample exotic wines anyway. Kitchen open quiet late! Tiny parking lot but plenty of on-street parking. What I want to come across is that this is a fine place to stop for a drink on the way home from work or go out to watch the game after dinner. A nice, inexpensive place for couples and a great place to bring the family where the children can have an inexpensive but better experience than fast food and mom and dad can have a drink or wine without blowing the budget. A GREATNEIGHBORHOODRESTAURANT.

Just had my first visit here after hearing several recommendations. My wife and I were not disappointed. The first thing that stood out was how warm the restaurant was. I’m not referring to the temperature, but how welcoming and comfortable it felt. It really has the feel of that«great neighborhood restaurant» and it did not disappoint. Our server was really friendly and helpful. I made an off hand comment about how good another side dish looked and she came back a few seconds later(after checking first) to see if I wanted that. My wife and I both ordered from the specials, but several items on the regular menu grabbed our interest as well. Everything was cooked perfectly, and was delicious. I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant. It won’t remain a secret for long.

This place is a typical Pub grub type of place. The difference, it is very well done. It has a neighborhood feel and a lot of people at the bar seem to know each other or the staff pretty well. The interior is dated but homey. One thing I noticed, that a lot of people were laughing, always a good sign. I had a juicy bacon cheeseburger — came out just the way I like it! Friends had an assortment of sandwiches, all like what they were serving. I guess my best review would be that this place is a «pretty good bet» for lunch.

The Red Bridge Tavern has become a regular stop for the bf and I ever since we stopped in briefly a couple years ago for a beer on a bar hopping birthday event. Having received a subsequent recommendation for their food, there was no choice but to truly see what this place was all about. Described as a hidden gem in East Providence, word is certainly getting around in the area. I try to come here on off-nights as this restaurant/bar is jammin’ on the weekends. Named for the nearby Henderson Bridge(a.k.a. The Red Bridge), this location serves up a great deal of comfort foods and tasty brews. Most of the dishes I’ve had here have been wonderful. A couple of misses here or there but you’re bound to find a few as you work your way through a menu. On one occasion I was even refunded for my meal as I had found it to be a bit flavorless for my taste(the Shrimp Scampi fyi). But don’t let this deter you. Some of my favorite dishes include the Potato Skins, Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, and Baked Mac N’ Cheese. I am told that their Stuffie appetizer is well worth the money. In addition to their standard menu, there are daily handwritten specials inserts to peruse as well. They usually have a decent selection on tap at the bar. Whether your sitting in the dining room, at a high top, or at the bar itself, the service is efficient. You can play keno, catch a game, or socialize with friends. No foul language though, as the signs behind the bar indicate :-P. They have a pool table in a room adjacent to the dining room. I’ve never used it but its a nice option to have on a slow evening. Nothing fancy to the interior… not that it matters since my experience overall is always an enjoyable one. Great restaurant for either lunch or dinner!

We had been here a few times before and Saturday night we went with a few friends. This place isn’t much to look at inside but the food and service has always been solid. They have a full bar with a decent draft selection and the mixed drinks were fairly potent. We started with chili nachos and buffalo tenders. The nachos were huge and loaded. The buffalo tenders were tasty and not greasy. For my meal I had the black and blue salad, which was loaded with sirloin tips and blue cheese. Others at the table had a chipotle chicken wrap, that had tons of chicken in it, sirloin tips and salmon. Thumbs up all around. I would recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area. I know I’ll be back.

Good solid food in a low key atmosphere… Started with the calamari… was a bit surprised that the roasted red peppers and banana peppers were served on the side? It was still delicious but strange. I had the steak sandwich that had lots of cheese and onions on top! The sweet potato fries were decent but again different from the last time we went. The steak itself was tender and slightly pink. Very good! The man had the Portuguese steak and said it was better than a local Portuguese restaurant ! He actually asked for seconds on bread because he wanted to soak up all the juices on his plate! The waitress was quick with a refill and very pleasant. Great place to grab a bite, watch sports and have a beer. Always check the daily, hand written, specials in your menu! I have always enjoyed whatever they can whip up!
