Nice ambiance but the sushi rolls we ordered were was incredibly underwhelming and overpriced.

What a great place in Easton pa! Who would have guessed you could find a place like this there? Awesome sushi, great dumplings, excellent spring rolls, and great sake. Very nice people working there too who make you feel at home. Definitely will go back again next time in Easton!

Really nice sashimi(get the love boat). Atmosphere is strange(like a NYE party waiting to happen) beer/wine list is average at best. Staff are friendly. Place is always empty during the week; bonus is that’s it’s quiet and food comes quickly. Overall a good choice.

5 stars — for Easton /Phillipsburg 3 stars — if this was NYC PRO: excellent sushi bar, clean, fresh seafood, the best Japanese restaurant in the(Easton /Phillipsburg) area, nice atmosphere. CON: Don’t expect an NYC quality experience. HINTS: Sit at the sushi bar, the chefs are friendly, appreciate you sitting there, and happy to interact with you and appreciate special requests.

I hadn’t been to Sogo in years but we decided to try it the other night. I’m really glad we did. When I went years ago, the food was just ok. I had a much better impression this time around. I wouldn’t say that it’s hands down the best sushi in the Lehigh Valley, but it’s pretty good. I really love the atmosphere too. I am engaged so I don’t really need to keep a list of great first date spots, but single folks, add this to your list! It’s a very unique atmosphere that is almost lounge-y. Like most sushi places, you can’t go wrong with the chef special rolls. They also have a pretty good drink menu as well. I’m actually really surprised that this place isn’t as crowded on the weekends as it used to be. I’m guessing there is more competition now so people have forgotten about this place with all of the newer places opening. If you’re one of those people, I do think you should give them another shot. Bonus: it’s one of the few places in the Lehigh Valley where it’s quiet enough to actually be able to hear the person next to you(WOW I just sounded like my dad). Also, the staff and the owner are very nice and helpful!

We stopped at Sogo last night for a snack and a drink. We were greeted promptly and sat at the bar(it looked like they had a really nice outside seating, it was just too warm). The place has a really cool vibe inside. Odd décor, but it worked. The girl that took care of us at the bar was extremely friendly and attentive. They have a full bar, and a large drink list. One of the best parts was they had Kirin Ichiban on tap. The beer was fresh, and COLD! Really, really cold! I would go back just to drink the beer. They also had Sapporo on tap along with two others but I don’t recall what they were. I saw a small bottle selection, but nothing extensive. We ordered a couple bowls of hot and sour soup. It was delicious. Definitely made in house. We had an order of spring rolls which appeared to be frozen /heated as they were all very uniform. They were good, nothing to write home about, but good. We finished with a go-go roll. It was spicy tuna, topped with avocado and three spicy sauces. It was fantastic! I highly recommend this roll. I am in town every other weekend, and this is definitely going to be my go-to Asian food /sushi fix! I can’t wait to get back and try some other things on the menu… and drink more Kirin! :)

Not so great, poor quality Westernized sushi. Less than stellar service. Sogo is not exactly as good as the sushi you can get from Wegmans, which is unfortunate because the location is rather ideal for Easton.

Had a birthday dinner here and they were so great! We preordered sushi boats and apps and the food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend for a group or for a dinner out!

My absolute favorite place to get sushi from. The service is always quick and the food is always high quality. I highly recommend the Miso Soup and California Roll. The atmosphere is quirky, but fun.

A good place for sushi. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, and several decorations looked interesting. I came for a quick afternoon meal, and there weren’t any waiting time. I was seated very promptly, and the service was fast with my waitress being attentive. There isn’t private parking, so street parking may be a hassle if the roads get busy. The menu had different varieties of japanese, thai, and chinese food. However, I do feel that the vast majority(70%) of their appetizers and entrées consist of chinese food, and 15% of japanese and 15% of thai food. Their japanese sushi were very creative. For my appetizer, I ordered the green seaweed salad, and it was delicious. My spicy girl sushi roll consist of 8 rolls with tuna, salmon, avocado, and tobiko(fish eggs). It tasted unique due to the sweet sauce with jalapeño peppers on top of my sushi. As for my entrée, the japanese sautéed udon with chicken was good. The stir-fried favor made the dish tasty, however, I do prefer the traditional udon noodle soup, but they didn’t have it. Overall, my experience was great. The service was fast. The food tasted good(but not the best), and the prices were decent.

I don’t know where else the people reviewing this restaurant have been eating sushi… but this is not a NY quality experience. The appetizer was terrible, the soup was warm and best and bland. The drinks were watered down and over iced. And the sushi was terrible. We ordered 5 or 6 rolls and all of the tasted of mayonnaise. A lot of Mayo in all the rolls or the sauces on the rolls. Just an over whelming amount of the stuff. both my wife and myself felt sickly and did not finish the meal. We were so excited after we moved from the near NY to find what the reviewer said was great sushi. Overpriced bad sushi. Just one step above grocery store quality. Loud dark environment.

Sogo is a tad over priced and for someone who really knows sushi this place is average. Kome blows this place away and this place had health violation write ups in the past. If you want to try it you may like it but I doubt you will be a long time customer.

Very unique place. I’ve been there a few times and have tried their sushi and also main dishes. The sushi was excellent, the sweet potato rolls were also great. The Thai curry chicken was honestly one of the best I’ve had, everything tasted super fresh. As far as their drink menu, I was surprised to see they had such a bar. Very nice atmosphere and people.

Really good. Not quite as good as Kome but the prices are great for the quality of food you get. Tuna and salmon are very fresh even on a Sunday night. Also, Sapporo is a great beer. The cocktails they made me were good and strong and like I said the prices are good. I like that they have outside seating too and I’ve had the same waitress the last three times and she’s always really nice. Sitting at the sushi bar is fun too. Nice and casual, TV at the bar and Sirius radio. Nice clean bathroom. Downtown easton is pretty dope to go over to mother’s bar for a nightcap

Although sign says best in the valley, the food is just average. Miso soup was lukewarm and bland. Sweet potato roll good but roll sizes in general were small. Service just average. Summer salad special was really not good at all. Have had much better elsewhere.

Loved the appetizers, the outdoor seating(where we could listen to the band playing in the center square), and the drinks. I feel like the sushi could have been a bit higher quality, but it was still tasty and I’d definitely come back. I just think there is a little room for improvement with respect to the sushi, but overall this place is solid. The inside of the restaurant looked cool as well, so it wouldn’t be bad to sit inside on not-so-nice days.
