Not being a wine drinker you may find it interesting that I review a winery. Well being the designated watcher/driver I’ve been to a few wineries. It’s all about the experience my wife and sister/brother-law have. They really enjoyed this place. The young lady pouring the wine was friendly and knew her stuff. Relaxed atmosphere is a plus, but we were there in the off season. So I sure its busy during the summer. It would be nice if they could ship their wine to CA. A place to go when your on the island.

I absolutely love this place. It’s in a beautiful setting tucked against turtleback mountain between the ferry and Eastsound village. The winemaker is very friendly and the tasting room comfortable. As for the wine I find Sangiovese is my favorite but I do like the unique flavor of their Riesling whereas normally I find them too sweet. It’s the only winery you’ll find on the island and certainly not one to miss!

Cute winery with some decent wines! On our recent trip to Orcas we decided to try the winery out after some hiking. The have 5 wines that they pour, 2 white and 3 red. The grapes are imported from the red mountain Ava so they are delicious and not sweet! We liked the petite Verdot the best and walked away with a bottle. If you have a well behaved dog, you can bring it with!

I totally disagree with the below review. I visit a lot of wineries and review many of them, I am a self-proclaimed wine lover and although I am not professional, I am very passionate about the tasting rooms I visit. When I came into Orcas Island Winery, I was very surprised and impressed. The property is beautiful and the building is spectacular. The wine maker, although young, was also very pleasant and knowledgeable too! I had a completely different experience then the other reviewer and have since taken friends there. I totally recommend anyone to check it out and try the wine because it is delicious and worth the trip. Hope this helps anyone on the fence after the other crappy review. Cheers!

This is a new winery with a lot to learn. On a holiday weekend, the winemaker seemed more interested in wine labels for his new brand than talking with customers. As someone who myself went to school for winemaking, I really enjoy talking to winemakers and was very disappointed that he didn’t even seem interested in talking about his wine. Having said that, the wine itself was sub par, and the dry Reisling(0% RS) and un-oaked Chardonnay were barely drinkable. Red wines may be the«challenging» wine to make, but you can’t ignore the whites. The only reason I gave 2 stars is due to the friendliness of the woman pouring for us.
