This restaurant offers a spectacular view. We went for brunch on a mid September morning.] I had the green-eggs and healthy never tasted do good. Great bloody mary’s. My date raved about the waffle. Orcas Island is remote, getting there is half the fun. If you make it there you will not be disappointed with the Loft.

Strike one: Told our table of four there was no splitting checks when there was one other table in the entire restaurant. Strike two: Forgot someone’s order and tried to pass it off the reason for it being 5 – 10 minutes after all of the other dishes due to getting«the last touches on it.» I’d be willing to forgive a mistake, but lying about it to us about it? Final straw: Since we happened to know the people at the table adjacent to us, we were charged as one party. With automatic gratuity. What the hell? Does this place make all locals in the restaurant who know each other pay as one party? If we were sitting next to strangers and made a few minutes of friendly conversation would we be billed as one party? Never seen such blatant theft of money from a restaurant before. I’d be less angry had she skimmed our credit card numbers.

Brunch was fantastic with champagne mimosa and fantastic service by Susan. Dungeness crab Benedict was heaven! The view is stunning. We SAT inside, however, there is also a large deck over the water.

We were aheaded to the Madrona Grill and found the line all the way out the door with loys of small children. My brother was visiting so we wanted a more quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We walked past the loft sign and decided to check it out and took the stairway upstairs. We stumbled into this dining treasure views are amazing and beautiful atmosphere. Gracious hostess the moment we walked in. What an outstanding meal Shelly of server was top notch! We had chef Salad the presentation was amazing and dressing so yummy. Halibut with roasted potatoes and vegetables sauce was so tasty that we savored every bite. Flourless chocolate cake for desert with blueberries was delicious. The highlight of our evening was the chef came out to introduce himself obviously everyone truly cares about customers. Highly recommend so lucky we live on orcas so we can share this new discovery with all of our friends.

I found this place on google maps and was immediately drawn to the picture of the view from the patio. I don’t know how I would have found this place without seeing it online because the entrance is tucked down an alley and up a flight of stairs. Firstly, the view from the patio is amazing and embodies everything that is Orcas Island. The inside seating is nice and upscale but the patio seating view is a must. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was above and beyond amazing. I had halibut which was excellently done but I think after trying some of the pork secreto and the chili sauce, I would order that next time if it’s still on the menu. The chef came out to check on how we liked the food. I couldn’t lie to him, the food was perfect. Thank you, we will be back

As a local, and fan of several Orcas Island eateries, I’ve dined at The Loft at Madrona a dozen times or so. It’s a beautiful space, with gorgeous views and great ambience. What makes it special, however, and deserving of «destination dining» status, is the cooking. That«african american kitchen worker“[sic] cited by another, frightened and«intimidated» reviewer, is the chef. And he’s, in a word, outstanding. He’s cooked in New York, Chicago, Portland and we’re blessed to have him here on Orcas. Try The Loft. You’ll thank me!

We were at the Loft in September and we had most of the restaurant to ourselves. It is a very nice and warm space with a lovely view of the water. Certainly the view is what you are paying for here. Our wine took a long time to come out but was good. The bartender was on another planet on her phone and seemed visibly intoxicated, kind of stumbling around. Our pork belly was tasty but a very tiny portion. The lobster came out cold and our steak wasn’t cooked as requested. We didn’t want to cause any problems but knowing our bill was already over a hundred dollars we felt it justified to request a correction. The server was congenial and apologetic and took our plates back to the kitchen. We felt bad as we heard a huff from the cooks but, again at that price, we felt we must especially since any other restaurant serving food at that price point wouldn’t send out cold improperly cooked food. That would never fly in a nice place in Seattle. Their error was corrected and food was tasty. We were a little intimidated after an african american kitchen worker kept strutting around staring at us, whispering to other employees. Overall, space was nice and food was tasty but very expensive for what it was and the experience with the staff was really off-putting, and frankly, little scary.

This place is a beautiful location for an evening of delicious food and amazing views. The front of the deck is glass, so the wind is blocked and the views are unobstructed. The views from the indoor tables are also good and the bar is literally glowing. The staff was super friendly and for a restaurant that just opened(5 weeks ago?), food came to the table within a reasonable amount of time. We had a variety of food… lobster(Maine!), halibut, ribeye(a large cut), crab, mussels(amazing), and flatbread(which left a bit to be desired). For dessert, we shared shortcake with stone fruits(pretty good) and caramel pot de crème with vanilla ice cream and Black Sea salt(to die for). Overall, good food, often with interesting spices used, and really great atmosphere for a fancy night out.
