Sonic Drive-In reminds me of my early days when we went to A&W Root Beer or Big Boy and ordered from the car and had someone on roller skates deliver our food. Those were good, fun memories, so when Sonic arrived, I wanted to go. My first experience with Sonic in the Orlando area was horrible. Two times at the same location, no one answered. The location had been open quite a while, but there were never many cars there. I thought that the company didn’t care about customers, until I saw two other stores closer, which were constantly packed. The one bad thing about Sonic is the sonic bit. Even when you’re sitting outside, you have to order through the little intercom and you have all the noise from the cars, as well. Maybe, they should offer something on the web site(or a smart phone app) to order ahead. You have trouble hearing, they have trouble hearing, and suddenly you end up with something you didn’t order. My chicken strips and tater tots were good but not exceptionally flavourful. I prefer Popeyes and Checkers/Rally’s, not Chick-Fil-A and Church’s for chicken. However, some people don’t like too much spice and thats’ what they give you. The chicken was moist and meaty. There were 5 pieces but they probably weighed the same as the 3 pieces you get elsewhere. My previous visit I had a hot dog of some sort with fries and they were good, as well. There are so few places to eat outdoors in the snow belt and you might as well take advantage of them and enjoy the experience. Of course, in the winter, you should be able to pull your vehicle up to one of the menus and order and enjoy the food still.
