After receiving a timely call from Mr Mike Kaliski of PC Richards, I am comfortable that he addressed my concerns, and understood the gravity of my problem. And yes I purchased the TV. Thanks Mike.

The only reason they got one star, was our initial salesman, Tom, and the first set of delivery drivers were nice and helpful. But notice I said FIRST. The first of 3. And I still don’t have a dryer. We went into PC Richards in search of a simple electric dryer. Since ours broke after over ten years, we decided to just get a new one, and once it was in maybe get a new washer. Tom was helpful, we picked one out, paid for the install materials, installation, and plan and we were out the door. The store called to ask if we were sure about the size. We said yes. When it arrived the delivery driver said it wouldn’t fit. What we didn’t realize is the model we bought had a back vent, and the install set was rigid. This added more than 4″ to the back, and the wall side of the vent, and wouldn’t reach to the vent from the dryer. It would also push the dryer out too far. The delivery guys were very nice, said it happens, and gave us the specs. they suggested we downsize to give us more wiggle room, said to make sure we had a flat back and a side venting dryer. We were apologetic to them, and headed back down to the store. In the interim, Tom called and told us which model was available in store that would fit our needs. We headed back to the store, and were greeted by employees sitting on the front display. The one salesman said he didn’t know about dryers, so we could come back in two days when Tom would be there. I told him the drivers and Tom had given us the information we need, and we looked around. The model Tom had mentioned seemed to be the only model that fit our specifications. I checked the back to make sure it was flat, and looked at the side to find the perforations for the side vent. Double checking the voicemail Tom left, and checking reviews of the model online, the guy came back over. We told him this is what we needed. He said he didn’t know anything about dryers and couldn’t tell us. I said this is the model suggested to us based on the drivers feedback. Can he not sell us a dryer? He pulled it out to see if it had a side vent. It did. We went over to customer service. At this point, the guy at the service desk just accused my boyfriend of being wrong about the size, and said he called us. As I started to explain that I measured, not thinking it was back venting and expecting the flexible tubing we had already, he started to talk over me. Explaining, like I was a moron, what we needed. It got to the point where I needed to walk away. I do not enjoy being treated like an idiot, especially by someone who will not take 5 seconds to listen. My boyfriend dealt with the rest, and had it scheduled to be delivered Monday. The words«side vent» were said on both sides an infinite amount of times. They agreed they don’t have the right kind of tubing for us, but we had to still pay for the kit for the install. That we would have to get our own flexible ducts. On Monday, a new delivery team arrived with a back venting model of the Hotpoint we chose, and said they couldn’t side vent it. I was not there to receive it, my boyfriend was. They said they needed a special kit to vent it, which they did not have(which is something WE did have, though I don’t know if this was brought up) and wanted to just leave the dryer there. A dryer that cannot be installed or tested before they leave is not a risk, at this point, we were willing to take. My boyfriend returned once again to the store. There he was met with a difficult store manager who was unhelpful until our original salesperson, Tom, came to help out. After some fighting, and I will admit at this point he(my boyfriend) raised his voice and probably cursed(it’s been a horrible experience met with nothing but arrogance and rudeness– no courtesy) and was ready to just return the whole thing. They settled on trying once again, with the correct kit, and dryer, on Wednesday. This morning YET another delivery team arrived. After consulting with their boss, they said they couldn’t install the dryer unless we moved the dryer vent. We live in a high rise. There is no moving the dryer vent. They said the flexible hose could not go behind the washer. Where it has been for over the ten years we have lived there. Which wasn’t a problem with the first two teams.(the first of which took the time to look at the set up and give us advice) Going into the dryer vent that has worked fine where it is since the 80s. They didn’t want to do it. If 100+ units weren’t set up in the same way, I would probably give them more benefit of the doubt. This experience has been nightmarish and has completely turned me off from PC Richards.

I recently stopped in the Eatontown store just to kill some spare time but the sales staff were so professional and on-point that I couldn’t help but purchase my new Computer system right then and there. Great location and great sales staff, very knowledgeable. I will visit them again when it’s time for a new TV!!!
