Fred’s Bread – Artisan Breads and Rustic Pastries

It’s worth a try! Went on a friend’s recommendation. Another bakery off Washington hidden in the industrial area very close to AirMaxx. A warm yeasty smell and a cheerful, «Hi, we’ll be with you in a minute.» pleasantly greeted me on entry. Very clean and obviously a take-​away only. It’s a small locally owned, husband and wife ran bakery with only a handful of artisan breads and 4 – 6 treats that vary.
I STRONGLY recommend you go to their web site and read what products they are offering so you know what day they make your fave bread or treat.
Unfortunately we found the Rye bread dense, very heavy and lacking a rye taste. The Baguette, however, totally made up for it! Nice, crusty, excellent flavor, good texture and the leftover made great crispy toast! And the Almond Cake… Wow, exactly as you want it to taste like and the mouth feel.mmmmmmm. Definitely will go again and try other breads and treats.
