Very slow service and the waiters are not attentive. Brunch is decent. Coffee is mediocre. I was asked if I needed water when my glass was almost empty.

Probably the best environment I’ve ever experienced for a coffee and wine bar. There are private little booths, tables by the fireplace, high-tops with stools… perfect! I went with a friend for coffee and late breakfast. The food was nothing fantastic, but pretty much exactly what you order. I had the vegetarian egg sandwich, and it wasn’t super greasy… just simple food. The staff wasn’t the the nicest and most hospitable. not the expected Minnesota/mid-west smiles, but they got the job done

Consistently savory food. I appreciate their wine suggestions. It has been fun to see their incremental growth and success in a difficult industry.

Went here with a date. The service was great, and very accommodating of our slow place. The only issue I had was despite asking for no pink I got a burger that was pink.

I was reminded of this place via a FaceBook so I thought I’d grab lunch here today. Upon my arrival, nobody acknowledged my presence for the first 5 minutes. I made eye contact with a few employees but no one came over. Perhaps I should seat myself? So I grabbed a menu off the host stand and sat at a table. A server stopped by, said hello, and offered me the lunch menu — — the one I had taken was not the right one. I ordered the Gorgonzola salad and it was ok. No one checked on me while I was eating — - I would have ordered bread if they had it. Also my water was not refilled. By the time I was ready to leave I was among a group of 3 customers at the counter asking if they could get their bill and pay. I’m sure the food is fine all –around, I just can’t figure out what customer service model they are using? It was not busy at the time. Hmmm?

I thought it was great! Nice relaxed atmosphere with global chill music. Food was very good with good sized portions. The wine selection was decent although I was a little disappointed at a selection of wine that I wanted they didn’t have it by the glass. The were charging $ 85 for a $ 38 bottle of wine… I only know this because I actually went to that winery in California. Other than that I like the place so I will be going back. I tried the oven roasted Italian Flatbread which was delicious. I also tried the Hangover burger which consisted of a thick patty, American cheese, fried egg, red onions, and thick savory bacon with hot sauce to give it a kick. This burger is huge so don’t order it if you aren’t all that hungry. I liked it though so I will definitely be back. Our service was great too!

I’ve started coming here in the mornings before work to get a coffee and breakfast sandwich. The pepper jack spinach breakfast sandwich is delicious! I just happened to see that they also serve brunch on the weekend. My husband and I decided to make the trek from eagan to try it out. He got the bourbon peach French toast. It was really good. I got the breakfast tacos. They were amazing! We also had some of their breakfast cocktails which were delicious. It’s definitely worth the trip out to Eden Prairie.

I stopped by JJ’s for study hour happy hour on a Wednesday afternoon. Beautiful little café. I’m not a wine expert, and all I ate was cheese, so this review is based primarily on experience. Happy hour is a great inexpensive treat — $ 4 house wine! The patio is shaded nicely, but I ended up with quite a few seeds on my lap from the surrounding trees. Additionally, the patio faces a fairly busy road. Not terribly intrusive, but there is some noise attributed to that. Music on the patio is nice. I had two different servers, must have been a shift change. But both were friendly and polite. I was not rushed or pressured to order more.

We tried stopping here for Sunday brunch and left before we ordered any food. The hostess was rude and unfriendly. Despite us making a reservation and requesting a highchair there were not any available. It took 5 minutes for a server to show up and then another 10 for our coffee to come out. The place wasn’t even that busy. We left before our kid’s smoothie came out and paid for a marginal $ 5 latte. Won’t be back which is a shame.

Pros: The wine was quite good, and the entrée portions were large. I would probably give the cocktail menu a try if I went back(for dinner). Cons: The service was not good. There is a difference between slow service and poor service. When the restaurant is not busy at all for a weekend dinner and you’re waiting for twenty minutes for a wine refill while are wiping glasses behind the bar, that’s poor service. The food took quite a while, but it was quite good and tasted homemade. Starters were very overpriced for the portion size. Overall, I would give it a chance again for coffee with a friend, maybe, but for dinner and drinks, you can go almost anywhere else for better food, drinks and service for a lower cost.

Used to be our favorite spot. Service has never been great but we enjoyed a drink and some apps. Since the menu change and new food choices it seems as though the price is way higher than the food deserves. Last visit had terrible service and food and made a co plaint to the owners. Nhs response was not short of ego driven. We were blamed and excuses were made. It left a very ishy feeling. Nice never had that type of response from a manager let alone an owner. It’s sad, we really liked to sit at the bar and have a few drinks.

Great find in EP! Its not much to look at from the outside, but very comfortable and cozy inside. Nice alternative to the suburban chains. I’ll be back again.

JJ’s is a great place in EP that I’ll be visiting a lot more on the weekends! The Café MJ and Southwestern breakfast sandwich were pretty good and what I was looking for to start my Saturday. Next time though I’ll go for my usual espresso, since the MJ was a little sweet for me. I’m excited to try the rest of their menu at some point, and those wine flights! Happy hour, here I come. This place is also incredibly spacious, laid back, and a classy step up from the other coffee shops I tend to frequent. There’s dark wood and leather everywhere, comfy booths with private outlets and dimmer switches. Perfect for hanging out for an hour or two. Side note: They must have stolen my «I need to go to bed NOW» sleep-inducing playlist. It’s all the Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Sara Bareilles, Josh Radin, and breathy Iron & Wine you could ask for. I’m sure Norah Jones will come on at some point in the next hour!(Scratch that: Come Away With Me actually came on as I was typing that last sentence…) I love how chill it is here. It’s super quiet before 10:30am on weekends! After that, a LOT of moms/families/groups show up here, so it starts getting a little louder.

If you consider yourself a wine snob and are moderately deaf then this is the place for you. If you are more of a wine geek(you know who you are) and you enjoy good wine regardless of the label and you don’t drink with your pinky finger extended then move on. Btw: Place is under a fitness center that apparently caters to the morbidly obese. Our entire visit was punctuated with whump-whump-whump of what was either a very large(and determined) runner on a treadmill or some sort of 40 mm AAA canon. …and as far as food, the portions are not small, they are tiny.

JJ’s in EP is a cozy place to chill with a cup-o-joe or a glass(or 3) or wine. They have a bar, some booths, tables, and comfy chairs by the TV image of a fireplace. Outdoor patio space is also available for those sunny days. The wine selection is nice. They offer four $ 14 wine flights, two red and two white. Or, for $ 17, you can create your own wine flight. They provide 3 oz pours, which is a nice amount. While enjoying the vino, you can choose from a variety of menu options such as salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, and my personal favorite: cheese. Each day they offer a selection of about 4 cheeses from which to choose. On my visit, they had about 50% soft cheeses(my preferences) and 50% hard cheeses. I’m not going to claim that it was the best brie or gorganzola I’ve ever had but it was certainly good and paired well with the wine. The cheese plate also came with marinated olives, which was nice. It would be best if they offered some jams or fruits with the cheese but it did at least come with crackers. The service was kinda relaxed in that the bartender seemed to be taking care of the bar as well as several tables. It took a bit initially to get attention but we were provided with good service for the rest or our stay. The chilled out vibe of the restaurant was a nice change from some of the hyped bar scenes in other areas. I would definitely return to JJ’s to try more wines and a few more food items next time I’m in the area.

Maybe we just ordered the wrong things, because everyone else seems to love the food. I had the ham and turkey sandwich, and he had the italian sub with clam chowder. The bread on my turkey sandwich was dry. And they didn’t fill the sandwich out to the edges, so I had a few flavorless bready bites before I got to the middle. The Italian sub was good, but the clam chowder was soooo fishy. It was kind of unappetizing. The black tea bubble tea was good – sweet but not overly sweet. It was more like a slushy, which was different. The inside of the café was really quiet, even during the lunch hour. But it had a serene feeling that would be good for getting work done.

Perfect little coffee shop conveniently located. I really like this place, even with the half dozen coffee shop options nearby. They have excellent food, not just coffee, wines, three tap beers and a relaxing atmosphere. I really like the bar/coffee shop duo, it keeps me coming back at all hours of the day. Overall, I’m really glad we have this in our neighborhood, and I hope they stick around! Make sure to check out the happy hour!
