Superb BBQ and best burger I’ve ever had. So flavorful that I didn’t even put ketchup! The pulled pork is the best I’ve ever had.

Everything is house-made, even the sausage. Had the Governor’s wings, regular wings, chopped brisket sandwich, sweet potato fries… Great selection of can and bottle beers, including local faves like Jailbreak, Heavy Seas, DC Brau.(Wish there was some Dogfish Head and Flying Dog!) The sweet potato fries were waffle cut and fluffy and crispy. Just fantastic! Chopped brisket sandwich was delicious, esp with coleslaw and pickles. Wonderful friendly service at the bar, and Chad is a super-nice guy. We will be back!

I had the smoked meatloaf sandwich and sweet potato fries. It was so good! You can tell this is s local spot. The people I was with had the sampler which looked amazing, and the NE chowder. Everyone left fully satisfied.

Chad’d BBQ made my daughter’s wedding so special this past weekend. Everyone was raving about how good the food was. Chad and Kristi, and another employee served up pulled pork, sausages, and chicken. We also had mac and cheese, and some salads! DARN, no leftovers either! I have also eaten at the restaurant a few times, everything is so tasty! Thanks so much for all you did!

Stopped in for a bite. I had the smoked jalapeño chicken wings. The Mrs had the Carolina pulled pork sandwich. Food was good. The pulled pork didn’t seem to have much smoke flavor. Overall very pleasant visit with lots of family visitors and a great staff.

Don’t know how we missed this place for so long. We discovered Chad’s this summer, and it’s our new favorite casual eatery. My husband begs to come for the smoked burger, the fries are generously portioned for ample sharing, and I’m so happy to have decent ribs nearby. As with any great BBQ place, the sweet tea is excellent. Friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend.

My husband and I both ordered the burger and they were fantastic! Cooked to temperature for both(med rare and well done) and the bacon jam was delicious!!! The hubby loves coleslaw and said the Chad version of slaw was amazing! The salt potatoes were great too, soft and buttery. The bar was full and definitely had good looking drinks. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. We will definitely be coming back because we can’t wait to try the mac and cheese, meatloaf and more!

Delicious and smartly run roadside BBQ gem. This is a counter order, table served restaurant set in modest Cape Cod style building along the route from Edgewater/Annapolis to Davidsonville. Any concerns I had about this being a dive were quickly assuaged after stepping inside. Although the eat-in seating is limited, the space is nicely configured, bright, and warm. And the food was delicious and portions were very generous. Try the brisket options, get a basket of fries, and don’t miss the housemade pickles and collard greens. House sauces were great, too. Overall a well executed blend of sweet and savory, simple and complex, and presented perfectly. Five stars for exceptional and quick service, cozy atmosphere, and terrific range of comfort foods and more in an inviting and spotlessly clean roadside BBQ joint. The chef clearly loves the work. Absolutely headed back. This is a new Annapolis area favorite for me.

Very friendly. Full bar. Nice cocktails. Daily BBQ specials. Indoor and outdoor seating. You order at counter and they bring it to you. Liked it much better than Bayside Bull down the road. BBQ wasn’t as smoky as I like it, but everything was tender and good. They only serve sliced brisket one day a week, but you can get it chopped with sauce other days. Pork comes mixed with a heavy BBQ sauce or a light Carolina vinegar sauce. I skipped the pork because I don’t like my BBQ mixed with sauce, but I saw someone’s else’ Carolina style and it looked good.(light vinegar sauce which is traditional). Give it a try!

The food is good. The jalapeño honey wings deserve the awards they have won. But the reality is, the sandwiches are expensive. Paying $ 9 for a pulled pork sandwich with NO sides is ridiculous. And EXTRA for pickles and cole slaw on top of that. I’m not sure how 25 cents worth of slaw or potato salad would break them. Sides make people feel like they are getting their money’s worth. Too many eatery options to keep charging this much with no sides.

I hadn’t been by here in awhile and I keep seeing their menu board on Facebook, so I decided I’s stop by for some of their smoked meatloaf. I like to consider myself something of a meatloaf connoisseur. This stuff is pretty darned good. It’s a sandwich with some thick bread but still you can taste the meat with the spices and texture. Very tasty. The cole slaw and pickles that came with it were pretty darn good, too. I like this place because it seems really friendly where there are a lot of the locals that come by to eat and hang out a bit. There’s also a good selection of beer, wine and even a little bit of the hard stuff. If you’re looking for the run-of-the-mill barbecue that is dripping with sickening sweet sauce and overcooked meat, you might want to check out someplace else. If you want really good barbecue in a relaxed atmosphere at reasonable prices, this is the place.

Chads BBQ quickly became our favorite when we moved to the area. It’s a casual restaurant, appreciated by a foodie. I have yet to have anything that I didn’t love. The smokehouse burger and ribs are among my favs. I mean, bacon jam and arugula on a burger, how could one go wrong!!! Of course the traditional Carolina pulled pork is amazing. You must try the house BBQ sauce, it’s a keeper.

There are a lot of restaurants in the area, especially BBQ joints, but this one’s the best in my opinion. Came here with a large group on a Friday for lunch and the service was very quick and pleasant. I ordered gumbo and tried the cornbread on the side. The gumbo was loaded with delicious shrimp, crawfish, and crab. There was also a combination of some rice or barley with flavorful okra and other veggie mixings. The cornbread tastes awesome and very fresh as well. They serve drinks in Mason Jars, which is adorable and fun. The place is located right off the road, so it’s hard to miss. Be careful to alert cars behind you when you turn into the parking lot!

After this changed into a bbq place, we weren’t too interested in patronizing Chad’s but we decided to finally try it for lunch. The interior is tiny just like it was under the Wharfside name but the décor was freshened up with some light colored paint. Also noticed that there were not as many tables and chairs crammed in so that added a feeling of airiness. For lunch we split the cheesesteak and fries and then ordered some jalapeño smoked wings and a full rack of ribs to go, with plans to have it for dinner. The service was beyond friendly and they split the sandwich up for us without even asking. The food came out quickly and the sandwich was nicely made — meaning the cheese and meat were appropriately co mingled and the bread was the perfect vessel for the filling. Flavor wise, though, it could have used something. The mushrooms and onions were barely detectable. The fries were very good, reminiscent of true Belgian fries. We took the other food items home. I managed to sample a bit of the ribs and although the flavor was decent the meat was super dry. Chad might be better off smoking St. Louis style ribs instead of baby backs as they are meatier and fattier which makes them more forgiving. We had a service man at our home that evening and he ended up working several hours overtime so we decided to give our take-away meal to him. Earlier in the day, my husband did sample one of the wings and said that they were just ok. Again, the dry factor was an issue and he tasted no flavor or spice from any jalapeños. Also, before leaving the restaurant I asked to sample their coleslaw. The only good thing about it was there was not an overload of mayo, otherwise it was quite bland and unappealing. I was glad I tasted it because if I had ordered a tub to go it would have been left uneaten. I really wish the food was better as we love to support local businesses. We may return to try the house cured pastrami and the brisket… but it won’t be any time soon.

Local flare, great food and comfortable inviting atmosphere. We moved to the area 6 months ago and this has been our new go to spot. Highly recommend the steak and cheese, chicken wings and mac and cheese — it’s easy to tell the ingredients are top quality and homemade daily. Nothing against Bayside Bull but Chad’s offers much more than taking meat off the pit and shaving it onto a cold bun. You can’t compare the two, Chad’s is a full service place including a small bar where Bayside Bull is a simple pit BBQ roadside stand. Go to Chad’s and get some of the best food in the county. PS: I noticed some of the reviews back when the place first opened were subpar… I can’t comment on those as I never ate here back then… Chad obviously got everything figured out as this place is fantastic now. This comes from a guy who uses his Big Green Egg religiously for smoking meats.

We served Chad’s BBQ for my husband’s 40th birthday party last night. Everyone raved about the food and asked where it came from! We ordered the chicken, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread for 35. We had plenty of everything. People loved everything and especially the macaroni and cheese, which they crushed. I was surprised that the group loved the collards because I didn’t think it was a collards kind of group. They loved the corn bread also. I thought it a bit too sweet but I prefer my corn bread not sweet. Chad’s was going to cut the corn bread in half but they must have forgotten – the slices were too huge. The chicken pieces I ate we’re lick-your-fingers moist but not oily/greasy. My husband said he got a dry piece. Everyone loved the chicken and abandoned plastic silverware to just get at it with fingers! I forgot to put out the sauce that came with everything but no one seemed to miss it. I’m not even sure what the sauce was. The food was hot whenever we picked it up. Chad’s brought the trays to the car. All we had to do was leave everything in an unheated oven since they food was already warm, the hear of the food kept the oven warm. I gave 4 stars because the corn bread was slightly too sweet for my taste(though not for everyone else) and I like mine a bit drier, and my husband got a dry piece of chicken. When I placed the order earlier that week, the lady was so nice. They even accommodated increasing our order by 5 earlier that day. We’ve already decided to use Chad’s for our next year’s fall party!

Chad’s was extra accommodating to our two dogs. They opened the back gate to their fenced in seating area and even filled up our water bowl with some ice. The food is fantastic. The wings are a must!

I didn’t eat at the restaurant, rather I was treated to a tailgate party at a Bowie Baysox game that was catered by Chad and his crew. I understand that barbecue is very subjective, and I am a devotee of the Texas school, but this was some good barbecue. The brisket was a bit dry, but chopped and slathered in a fairly good sweet sauce. The coleslaw was piled on top of the brisket, with the vinegar and mustard balancing the sweetness of the sauce, and made an excellent sandwich. The pulled pork was a pleasant surprise, moist with a vinegary tang and a bit of spice. The collards were tender and flavorful, and the Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty(even if one if it’s ingredients looked to be cream cheese…). I think I will check out the restaurant next time I am in the area.

Food review is mixed. Loved the sides. Had pickles and Mac and cheese and corn bread. All excellent. The meat was good. Not great, but not bad. The customer service however is phenomenal. You feel like you just walked in to a group of your friends. I’ll definitely be back. Worth the try.

Hello Annapolis people and Edgewater people and Davidsonville people. I am a foodie… I live by following Jesus and how my stomach leads. I go to new cities and my number one thing to do there is FINDAMAZING food that leaves an IMPRINT in my heart, soul, and stomach! From customer service to the food and drinks. Seriously.I was wary of Chad’s. #1 it is new – always iffy. Ok I’m not sure about the ribs… but everyone(all 4 women) had a BBQ sandwich and LICKEDTHEIR plates. And and and we were in a time CRUNCH! Great food. Great Service. Clean. Friendly. This is a 4 Star or above. Unilocal people… they are a NEW restaurant… give them some critical LOVING feedback. They are local people employing local people… let’s keep them around! Like I said… I did NOT have the ribs but if you need a quick bite and gosh you can’t stand McDs, BK, Wendy’s, Chik one more night… swing by Chad’s! OMG — ANDTHEYHAVEWIFI… ANDITIS A GOODSIGNALANDSTRENGTH! HA so it should be 4.5 stars!!! BOOM!
