Great Lobster Roll and reasonable price. Very fresh tasting lobster I don’t thinks they season it so you just taste the lobster. I got the combo with coleslaw and a mixed green house salad. But the prize winner was the succulent luscious lobster claw chunks. I’m going to make it a habit to go there twice a month and try other items on the menu. You must try this place, you won’t be sorry.

Maybe the night of a 3 star review in the paper wasn’t the best time to try to get a party of 9 in here, but we were well taken care of. Both the food and the service were outstanding, and I can’t wait to go back with another gang! Thanks, Jack, and thanks Krikor for your excellence!

Small hidden place in Edgewater but worth finding. Long lines will be here for dine in and take out due to great demand and recently review from the Bergen Record(3 Stars). The restaurant only seats about 30 people. Simple set up but cute décor of old fishing equipment. All their lobsters are from Maine. Jack the owner and his family did a great job on the place. Jack will be usually the one at the register. Super friendly! We started out with the lobster bisque.(Fantastic, last time I had really good lobster bisque was at CIA), next came the lobster mac and cheese(lobster goodness with cheese), then came classic Maine lobster roll(Perfect in every way). The lobster roll came with freshly made chips and slaw. Everything was made fresh and was worth the wait. For a long time I have been on a search for a good lobster shack in the Tri-State area, finally I have found one!

The lobster is very fresh, but they are served in small portions and the other food it just okay. The food was quite pricey. Ordered a soup, fries, the Connecticut lobster roll, and another fried fish and it cost around $ 50. The food was really just decent. The waiters and service was very friendly however.

Fantastic find! The lobster is cooked fresh(the tanks are right in the front of the restaurant), and the service was warm, attentive and friendly. They have a nice sized menu with all kinds of lobster-appropriate sides(handmade chips, sweet potatoe fries, onion rings), but they even have a Philly cheesesteak for you Carnivores. One of us ordered a 2 lb. lobster. Fantastic! I had a Connecticut lobster roll. Excellent. Another one of us ordered the Philly cheesesteak… couldn’t talk him out of it. The roll and meat were excellent, but it could have used more cheese. Oh…Monday and Tuesday nite there’s a full lobster special dinner for $ 25. Wow! And contrary to a review in Google, they take credit cards and are NOTCASHONLY. Farewell Red Lobster! Jack’s Lobster Shack is where I go for lobster now.

Went for Dinner Food — 2⁄5. The Lobster Roll is honestly not that special. I feel that the lobster itself is a great medium to soak up flavors but by itself it is kind of bland and that is what the Lobster Roll here tasted like; just steamed with very light seasoning. I understand the concept of lobster rolls and trying to make it look like there are plentiful amounts of lobster in there but the presentation results in a messy dining experience. The salad and the dressing is strictly a pre-made item and very unimpressive. I realize that its just a side item, but there is no love for the salad. Even one home-made dressing would improve it. The pickle and coleslaw are alright. Service — 4⁄5. Friendly cashier! I had a silly moment and didn’t realize my drink was a twist top but she opened it for me anyway. Price — 3⁄5. It is pretty expensive and seems to not offer much in terms of specials. Lobster Roll isn’t a common item for restaurants in the area though so it is not a bad price. Parking — Street(Free)

I thought this was an adorable little place with great food. The space is pretty small, but there’s a high demand for their food so its pretty darn loud in there on a saturday night. The service was normal and I ended up ordering the lobster bisque and the crab cake sandwich. The Lobster Bisque was nice and creamy and tasted great! the only thing was that it was garnished with lobster on top but i really feel that there should definitely be more lobster. Again, it tasted good but lobster should definitely be more prominent in a lobster bisque. Now with the Crab Cake– it was huge and overflowed from the english muffin all around. The sauce on top was great and it exceeded all expectations. AND i was just in Maryland yesterday yet this crab cake seemed to still wow me. and $ 12 for a giant(very crab filled) crab cake is cheap! I’ve had it book marked for months and am happy I finally tried it. Definitely plan on coming back here again.

I had this place booked marked for a while and decided to give it a try today. We started off with the fried clam strips as an appetizer. It was delicious! The tartar dipping sauce was a bit too thick but the clams itself were great. I had the Connecticut style lobster roll(pretty generous amount too) and my wife had the shrimp tacos. Both were excellent! They were flavorful and not over cooked at all. The price was pretty reasonable too. I will definitely be back to try more of what’s on their menu.

I really really like this place. I’ve had both the Connecticut and Maine style Lobster rolls and they are equally delightful. I grew up in Massachusetts so I know my Lobster rolls. Im looking forward to trying the fish & chips, and Clam bellies next The menu is loaded with so much great stuff, it makes you wanna go back to try everything The sweet potato fries are some of the best I’ve ever had, not greasy at all. I also had the Corn on the cob and it was sooo sweet. Perfect. The day we went was very busy, so that tells you something. Our waitress was so sweet and helpfull. Her name was michella. The atmospher is rustic, nautical and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable as well If you’re not a fan of Seafood then try the cheese steak it was outstanding. I will definitely be back. Great find!!!

Nice and spacious compared to their competitors in NYC. The crab cake is pure crab meat and big in size this is a must have and i also tried both lobster roll which were full of lobster meat. The lobster combo came with a crispy pickle, cole slaw and homemade chips. I washed it all down with a refreshing blueberry root beer. Definitely coming back!

This place is cute in a nautical sort of way. Service is prompt and the wait staff is nice. We ordered the lobster roll and the clam chowder. It was tasty enough to warrant another visit in the future. Prices are in line with other spots that serve lobster rolls in nyc. Best thing was the ice tea yum!

Came here last night for a dinner date with a gal pal. I was so disappointed. We have been craving lobster rolls for a while so we were actually going to head to chelsea market in the city to have the craving fulfilled, but we decided to give this place a shot since it’s a lot closer to where we live and we figured it’d probably save us a few bucks. We had the new england clam chowder, fried clam strips and the conneticut style lobster roll. Clam chowder — 5/5, it was exactly the way my palette imagined it would taste, delicious! Fried clam strips — 3/5, I’m a bit biased since this was my first time trying it. I wasn’t a fan, but it may just be my taste. It was just something fried and nothing special, but I guess if you really love fried stuff you might appreciate it. Lobster roll — 2/5, wow. so so so disappointed. I’m not sure if they were having an off day because I heard good reviews. The bread was perfectly toasted, however. the best part. the lobster. was so… rubbery and bland almost. They give you a very generous portion of lobster and I think crab meat in there too, but the texture was just a no no. If you don’t want to tread too far this may be a quick fix, but I’m not sure if I’ll be returning unless I hear the rolls get better. The parking isn’t terrible, there’s some street parking and also a municipal lot right near by. The server was friendly and nice.

So this place was ok, I really dig the atmosphere here. I like how it doesn’t smell like a fry basket. For the most part the seafood tasted fresh and the breading was pretty good, not too heavy or greasy. I had ordered the Calamari for the table, again not too greasy and good portions. My cousin ordered the Clam Chowder and my other friend ordered the Lobster Bisque, surprisingly I liked the chowder better than the bisque which wasn’t anything worth mentioning. I ordered the Lobster Roll(Connecticut Style) which was alright, but was rather overcooked and I couldn’t help but think it was a little too pricey, for what you get. Of course Lobster is more pricey than say… Shrimp but I just couldn’t shake it. Then I had to order Fries instead of the meal automatically coming with it? They should check into this… We ordered a round of Shrimp for the table, which were pretty crispy and delicious. The crab cake sandwich was amongst the best we’ve had, EVER! The service was pretty good up until the end, we had to get going and everyone who could take our checks disappeared(admittedly it got busy) my friend finally grabbed our checks with our credit cards and handed them to one of our servers at the front. She snapped that he couldn’t walk away until the receipt was signed for, but he wasn’t going to sign for me. calm down lady lol. When we walked out we decided this place has decent food, but I don’t see this place staying around too long. Once you try this place, you realize it’s a one(or two) and done. If my review is confusing, let me explain it better, I think the food is just OK, but not enough to keep coming back.

Jack’s lobster Shack has many options for the seafood lover, but they did not fully deliver. To be honest the service was kind of slow, we felt forgotten about at times and two of the people sitting at my table got up to go to the counter to pay for our bill. Onto the food… the lobster bisque was disgusting. Forgive me, but it was. It tasted like the bisque base from a soup can with a few lumps of lobster meat thrown in the middle. There was not a lobster flavor at all in the soup. It was basically thick and way too buttery. I only had half of it and that was after i threw in the crackers in came with. My crab cake sandwhich was actually very good. It was worth the $ 12, but the chips were kinda of pointless to be honest. The crab cake was fried perfectly, tasted fresh and had a great texture. The fried shrimp was another gross dish. Tasted like frozen shrimp with a batter that was barely sticking to the shrimp, soggy batter to be honest. The calamari is a good app to choose from tho. I was surprised because pretty much all of the other apps we chose were not hits, however the calamari had a perfect texture and was not rubbery. The lobster grille cheese was not a hit either. It sounded great, but way too cheesy and not toasted enough. I cant speak for my friends dishes, but over all they were not that great. I was truly let down because ive had this place book marked for awhile. but sampling a little bit of this and that and my lobster bisque was such a let down, i dont think ill be back.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times now, and I’ve enjoyed it each time. I’ve ordered the fried shrimp, and crab cake appetizers on two different occasions and they were both delicious. I enjoyed the crab cake more!!! When dining at dinner time I’ve ordered the lobster roll Connecticut style, and would highly recommend it!!! My husband ordered the fish and chips and he enjoyed them and would likely order them again. I also have had the lobster grilled cheese when I stopped in for lunch. It was surprisingly delicious! The only item I ordered that I did not think was worth the money was the quinoa salad, which I didn’t think was worth $ 6. This restaurant is BYOB,(which is always a plus) and casual. They were also overly hospitable when I went in for lunch and had my 14 month old daughter with me. I’ll definitely be returning in the near future.

We were on our way to run an errand when I noticed this place was finally opened! We pulled over to size the place up and decided to grab an early dinner. Upon walking in there’s a live lobster tank and the décor is very Oceanic with sailing flags, lobster cages and rope plastered all over the place. It’s a casual little place. In our group of 3 we ordered a lobster roll Connecticut style(for me), Lobster bisque for my boyfriend and lobster mac & cheese for his son. I can agree we all liked our food, it was well seasoned. I did enjoy my roll very much, however if I was really hungry I’d need to order an extra side dish! My plate came with homemade chips & extra vinegar-y coleslaw the way i like it, so I totally enjoyed mine. My one note would be that it’s a bit steep for the pockets. $ 18 for a small lobster roll is high but again, it was tasty for me. We’ll definitely put this place in our lunch/dinner rotation.

A really casual environment that makes you feel like your near a beach.(There is water near by, but I don’t recommend a swim in the Hudson.) They have a large live lobster tank so that while you are dining you can hear the water running the whole time. This could be annoying or it could be soothing. They offer regular chair seating or a half booth. Both are comfortable. The placemats are interesting, they have lobster facts and demonstrate the way you should eat lobster. I ordered the Lobster Roll Connecticut Style. This comes with one full lobster roll, home style potato chips, and cole slaw. The meal is very filling, but I also ordered a side of corn. The roll was absolutely delicious. It had a very soft, buttery taste. Some places can be too strong with the seasonings, but this place really brings out the natural taste of the lobster for the best. The chips aren’t too hard, but aren’t soft either. I was unable to finish all of them, but they were good. The cole slaw was okay. I would recommend maybe adding a little more sugar to it. Jack’s offers an assortment of organic Maine sodas. I did not try any of these, but they are intriguing. I highly recommend this place for a casual lunch or dinner. They definitely get a thumbs up!

Was craving seafood and came across this place searching through Unilocal. Seated right away which was great because after a long day I was starving although it took awhile for the server to take our order… not that busy but for some reason our server/owner was taking forever. Anyway she finally came and we ordered the fried clam strips, crab cake sandwich & fish & chips platter. The clam strips had too much breading .took away from the freshness because the rest of our meal you can tell its fresh. Crab cake was nice and the fish & chips were good. Only complaint on the food is it needed a little more salt other than that it’s good. Will be back to try other dishes.

There is nothing like this place in this area and I am so happy Jack decided to open a seafood place. I am a seafood lover and I couldn’t be happier that this place is walking distance. I know I know I should have done the lobster but I actually wanted crab cake, fish and chips and clam chowdah to start. I ultimately ordered the lobster salad platter because I felt guilty not having lobster! Okay my fav was the crab cake which was only 12 bucks and it came on a toasted English muffin with cape cod chips. The clam chowder was also amazing– not too thick and not too thin but full of flavor. I can’t wait to come back and try some other goodies such as the lobster roll and just for kicks the cheesesteak. So so happy this place opened on the golden coast!
