I have gotten sushi from Marathon sushi in Cliffside park and passed by this place which is right next to it. I thought i would try it just to try something different and see how it compares… i am not sure why the reviews are so positive. To me this place sorta tastes like PJ sushi in fort lee. They don’t skimp you on the roll and give you a nice amount of everything but the quality isn’t the best… it almost feels as if everything has been thrown in together but there is no cohesion between all of the components and its sorta bland tasting. the price is very decent but if you want quality i’d rather go across the street to Marathon…

The owners(a two person team), are nice, though they don’t interact/speak much. It’s a very small place so it’s best to order take-out from here; the establishment is divey, however this does not affect the quality of the food. Additionally they charge for small extras(ie: extra soy sauce, ginger, etc). Being that they are an all cash business, I think they should reconsider charges for these little extras. The no credit/debit is already a slight inconvenience. When it comes to the food itself, they do a fine job. The fish always seems to be prepared well and so does the other food I order. I’ve never had an issue in regards to the quality of food, so they will still keep my business.

Stumbled upon this place when looking for sushi on a Sunday! Most non-Chinese owned sushi places are not open on Sunday’s. This place offers solid sushi. The fish is very fresh and the rice is nicely prepared. It has couple tables for you to sit and eat but it’s really a take out place. We kind of wished we knew that beforehand because eating there was a bit awkward. Will be coming back for fresh sushi!

This place never disappoints. They always make what I ask for and it’s always fresh and delicious. The owners are very nice and friendly to me. I’ve been going there for years.

Great sushi every time. Great quality fish and the sushi chef is amazing at what he does because consistency is always a big factor and he nails it every time. Great spicy tuna roll and ever better shrimp tempura. By far my favorite sushi place around !

I have traveled and ate a lot of Sushi. I have also worked for Japanese restaurants so my knowledge of sushi grade fish is there. However when it comes to simplicity and high quality this is the best place to get a roll. Forget the glam and the decoration over your food. Come here for quality and taste. I know it may sound weird but even their soy sauce for soke reason is of different quality. To me it remains the best rolls I have tasted. It is also beautiful to see the man and the lady that are always together working. Cheers

Just got dinner platter from them since my regular sushi place Marathon is closed, family emergency. Prices are good but quality was sub par. No credit cards, no debit cards and no delivery. Not much to offer!

Not sure what all the good reviews are talking about. I live nearby so I was hoping this would be my go to place for takeout or a local outing without heading into the city. Tiny place, with a few tables if you want to eat in, CASHONLY. Sushi was very sub par to say the least. Ok prices but everything is extra even if it’s ginger/wasabi… Fish quality was eh and so was everything else. Would not repeat.

By far the freshest, and best sushi in town at a reasonable price. We love everything but my faves are the spicy tuna rolls, crunch rolls and miso soup rocks! Remember though — cash only!

We decided to eat at Sushi Palace. Wow, what a grumpy staff! Like they were annoyed we were even there for lunch. The woman did not come to our table to take our order and stayed behind the counter as we shouted the order to her and had a pained look on her face when she had to bring us the food, which was average. Did not say hello, thank you, or goodbye. Rude! Will never go back.

The quality is perfect! However, the service, not so great. I use to go very often but the lady tried robbing us for a few dollars. I asked my husband when we got home if he got the right amount of money back and he did not. I went back another day and told her about her error. Lunch was on her that day. Quality as I said AWESOME. The amount is not so much. ITs a husband and wife team. THe husband is a bit nicer than the lady. I would go back only if the other place I go to often is closed. They take only cash

This is my favorite sushi place. It’s like a little hole in the wall, but it’s really yummy. I always get the Philly roll with miso soup – THEBEST!

Pathetic those who give it five stars are clueless about(Pj Sushi-Fort Lee-15 mins away). I’m not pissed about the quality, but the portions are way too small. I ordered about $ 15 worth of sushi and it was too much money spent on a small amount of sushi. They gave me a small amount of wasabi/ginger as well, this place is a joke for what you are paying just drive to Pj Sushi.

Best sushi place in town! Great prices and fresh fish. A husband and wife team make amazing sushi! The sushi rice is perfect; just the right amount of sugar, vinegar, and mirin. Miso soup is perfectly seasoned. My favorites are the eel roll, mexican roll, spicy scallop piece, and everything else i’ve tried… Yeah they are freaking awesome!

Cheap place as in price is low and so is quality. Menu is small, and they don’t seem to like making what you ask. I wanted an alaska roll(salmon, avocado, cucumber), which every sushi place has but they don’t for some reason and they made it but gave me an attitude. Nothing put together nicely and didn’t taste that fresh either. kind of like supermarket sushi. Even the miso soup isn’t good, no flavor. Only plus here is very cheaply priced sushi. I couldn’t believe the rating on this place when I saw it. If you know sushi, this isn’t it.

Alway fresh sushi, reasonably priced party platters. Love the futomaki roll and spicy tuna. The place is owned by a husband and wife team, so no waiter. The place is mainly for cheap and fresh tasting sushi, but not much for dinning in. its really just a takeout place. There were few seating in the place if you wish to eat there.
