Okay so when I think about this place, I honestly have mixed emotions. I love the sushi, it’s always a hit. The service is more consistently than not always impersonal and rushed– the wait staff in particular. With the management there, you get the sense that they’re more in tune with what customer service is supposed to look like. When you BYOB and are not inhaling the food, the servers should assume it’s not going to be their typical eat, pay and rush out. It’s a shame because the location is great and so is the food! Hoping that they put some training in place for the staff to enhance the dining experience. Granted their busy and they’re always full. Still not an excuse to sacrifice on proper customer service.

Miso soup isn’t too great but once you add siracha it’s amazing. Sushi prices are alright, a little over priced for mochi. 5 dollars for one when I could go to a store and buy a whole box for 5 dollars. Service is always on point, nice staff never any problems. I’ve sat outside and it’s only good if the Hudson River doesn’t smell. Took awhile to write a review but it’s a pretty nice place, bring some white wine but there is a cork fee. Five stars when they get that Miso soup right without hot sauce haha.

The reason I gave this place 4 and not 5 is because of the galbi. I’ve had galbi before and it was delicious, and not as pricey. As for the other things on the menu we ordered gyoza, negamaki, crab salad, two different speciality sushis, we’re wonderful. I recommend the lobster tempura roll, one of the best rolls I’ve ever had hands down, and the crab salad was amazing! We also got the teriyaki chicken rolls, which was not so good… the chicken was dry, so if your going to get a chicken roll, definitly get the tempura one… and as I said before the galbi not so good for the price. The service was great, the waitress was very friendly and recommended everything that was worth getting, will definitely be going back again!

LETMEJUSTSAYTHATTHISISONEOFTHEMOSTBOMB(that means amazing for the people who dont know todays lingo) SUSHIPLACESIVEBEENTOINNORTHJERSEY. The food here tastes great. Its a little on the pricey side but I find that alright. The staff is pretty amazing. My waitress’s name was Miroo, she was attentive and pleasant to deal with. She was also very attractive so if you see this, ill be back to ask for your number

Great food decent prices beautiful view. Been coming here since I was 14 years old! It’s not the biggest restaurant but view is spectacular. You can choose to sit inside or outside which is literally over the water. Inside you have these glass walls so you can still see the beautiful city skyline. It’s a nice and fancy. I continue to recommend this place :)

I was very pleased! The sushi was amazing! I also loved sitting by the water and seeing an amazing view of NYC. The only reason why I gave this restaurant 4 stars was because the inside of the restaurant was too cold. Otherwise, I will definitely be back!

The lunch special used to be unbeatable… but. now it has become stingy! I am still paying for the food… so if you are providing a special I expect to get the same food as thought it weren’t a special. Getting ICECOLD tomago(egg sushi) is gross! If your lunch time is busy and the sushi bar belt isn’t working or you’ve chosen not to use it add extra staff… very annoying to keep having to ask the waitress for water, napkins, soy sauce dishes.ect. I’d rather go elsewhere and pay full price and get better service and quality food.

The biggest thing this sushi spot has going for it is the atmosphere and great staff. You can eat right on the water. However I didn’t love the food. The sushi rolls were OK but the appetizer beef roll(the name escapes me) tasted like a rolled up steak-um. Overall wasn’t too impressed.

40 dollars for 2 rolls and a salad… Mediocre at best sushi prepared by Koreans… ATTOPDOLLAR. Needless to say I WON’T BEGOINGBACK. I have given this place too many chances. The Hawaiian roll looked ok but was just really salty and flavorless. Service was rushed and when I went to the bathroom after I had paid the check they took away my drink which I was still working on, the waitress apologized but by that point I was just annoyed at the vibe. These people don’t care about what they are plating, it’s just a business. Looks good on the outside, nice location but there is no heart or soul to the food or the service.

I have heard great things about Sushi Cruise, but it’s just been an overall okay experience for me. I’ve tried this restaurant twice — customer service has been excellent but their sushi has been… a disappointment. why do your rolls fall apart so easily! And I can’t say their ingredients taste very fresh. Beautiful view if you sit outdoors and it’s BYOB. Weeeee! Their green tea ice cream with the baked shell, yaaaas. I’m sorry I forgot the name. Mixed reviews, three stars!

UPDATE: I called the health dept and the investigator called me after they inspected the premises and cooking measures. This place had the audacity to tell the investigator that using Saran Wrap and cutting through it was the standard in all places making rolls– the investigator was sure to tell them that that’s certainly NOT the case, and in fact, that he’s never seen that done elsewhere. Yes, you use Saran Wrap to ensure the roll stays in a round form, but stop being such lazy assholes and take the wrap off before cutting through it. Obviously not using a sharp enough knife, since the plastic got stuck in between the roll pieces. Have you heard of choking hazard and plastic being hazardous when consumed??? IT’S COMMONSENSE. Plus, don’t order their«grilled fish” — it’s frozen and then MICROWAVED — after they take it out, they want to give it that«just grilled» look by putting a torch to it for a couple seconds. No wonder it tasted like garbage. Only ppl who don’t know anything about Japanese food, especially sushi, would go here. Sushi Cruise is the nastiest restaurant I’ve been to and nothing warrants their snooty and shady business. __________________________ I wanted some non-authentic mediocre low class rolls to match my totally casual attire this Monday, and since this is so close to home, I thought I’d give it another try — this does NOT in any way or form mean I will accept dirt service(yes, our waiter was never available) or inedible food. THISPLACEISDISGUSTING– first of all, I understand Korean — this is a fully Korean-owned and operated restaurant, so don’t be fooled — if you are looking for traditional, real Japanese food, this is NOT for you. Back to understanding Korean — say shit to my face in English or Korean and I’ll be ready for you. P. S. no other patron was Asian in this restaurant other than us — why? Because the Asians who know their sushi don’t go here. If you want similar crazy Chinese/Korean fusion type rolls, go to Roll & Bunshik in Palisades Park, unless you’re really here just for the outdoor seating/view. Second, there was a PIECEOFPLASTIC on one of the rolls(Flame roll) — the manager explained that it’s how they keep the rolls in place while cutting it– well okay… How does that comfort me? You’re trying to justify why there are pieces of plastic in my food? WHATCOULDPOSSIBLYWARRANTFINDINGPLASTICINMYFOOD? WRITE A WARNINGONMYPLATETHAT I SHOULDACTIVELYBEONTHEHUNTFORPLASTIC/SARAN WRAPBEFORECONSUMPTION. I am quite sure I ingested the other half of the Saran Wrap, which had been stuck in between two pieces of the Flame roll. I just thought it was a very chewy gold flake. Then I saw it — the other piece that was ONTOP of the roll. I was so appalled by his response to my: «and what are you willing to do about it?» — his response? «We can make you a new one or we can take that roll off [the bill].» AREYOUEFFINKIDDINGME?! I AMCERTAIN I ATE A PIECEOFPLASTIC/SARAN WRAPANDTHEREWAS A PIECESTILLONIT, ANDYOUWOULD, LETALONE, NOTOFFERTOCOMPMYDINNERANDDDDMAKE A NEWONE(not that I would ever eat what you serve) BUTTHEAUDACITYOFYOUTOASK: «what else do you want me to do about it?» YOUPEOPLEARERUDE, UNPLEASANT, IGNORANT, ANDSHOULDBEOUTOFBUSINESS. Of course I stated that I am NOT paying and leaving immediately, to which he just nodded. SERIOUSLY? Screw you. There wasn’t even an apology!!! My SO also got FOODPOISONING from the hamachi kama and has had terrible stomach pains, been hurling, high fever, and all the major signs of food poisoning throughout the night. Probably because they never get new hamachi kamas — no one orders it and I wouldn’t endorse ever getting stuff that doesn’t seem to be regularly ordered in any restaurant, as the food would be frozen or while thawing, could go bad. It was not only old but likely undercooked as well. I didn’t have any of it and so I have no such symptoms(besides the fact that I consumed effin plastic). That’s likely what happened here, if not some other worse reason. I pray that you people pay the ultimate price that we unsuspecting customers have paid with illnesses that YOU caused. My SO is clearly not the only one who experienced illness after having eaten here. I just emailed the Edgewater Public Health Department — hopefully I’ll get some kind of response.

So this place is located in a shopping plaza. It set next to the hudson. So you get beautiful views. It’s byob which is always good. The staff here is inviting and the place can get pretty backed do to its location and great service. The sushi here is pretty good, it just depends on what you are craving. I’m not a fan of the rolls with chunks of cream cheese in it. Anyhow that being said the sushi is made fresh at the sushi bar. Now my favorite part of this restaurant is view… ooo dessert. Dessert usually is medicore at sushi places in my experience. Sushi cruise has hands down probably the best ever fried ice cream i have ever had. I order the green tea tempura ice cream whenever i go. Dont know it til you try it. If there is one thing I say you have to try here, it is the fried green tea ice cream.

Sushi is average I go to Sushi Cruise with my wife on occasion and usually it’s decent. I don’t expect more from this restaurant as this as sushi goes is sub-par but it’s close and convenient. Recently we went, ate and then ordered a shrimp fried rice to go and when we got it home is was some white rice with frozen vegetables and soy sauce sprinkled on top with virtually no flavor. It obviously was not stir-fried($ 15), I repeat it was not stir-fried! When we spoke to them they refused to give us any credit or a refund for the amount and with that have lost a customer who has been patronizing them since they opened. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHEM! I say this in all caps because you would think that since they know us as frequent customers that they would accommodate us. They are very impersonal and we overlooked that every time we went there but no more! SUSHICRUISEISDEADTOME!

What a hidden gem this place is! I’ve always seen the sign for this restaurant but never thought to give it a try until tonight. I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s a tiny place but with big windows and a nice view of the city. The place was packed(which is always a good sign). Seems to be a byob place(good to know for next time!). My husband and I tried 5 different rolls. Very fresh and yummy! Will definitely need to come back to try more. I’ve finally found my new neighborhood sushi place!

Great spot for byob and sushi with a great view. Perfect date spot. The food is good, not the best, but the service is great. The servers are attentive which is a great plus. I find myself coming here every other weekend and always have a good time. If there’s a wait I just head to the bar which is just as good as a table.

My favorite spot for sushi in jersey! I absolutely love this place! First off it’s on the water Yeahhh I mean how gorgeous is that? Oh wait and you get to eat sushi while you look at the beautiful view? I’m sold already! Now about the food! Oh wait… Drinks! They DONOT serve alcohol but it is BYOB for those that love to drink for those who don’t care try the green tea! I love it! It’s super refreshing! Ok and now finally the food!!! The food here is just absolutely awesome! My boyfriend loves the seaweed salad here! It’s amazing the rolls are amazing too! I’ve never had a roll here that I didn’t like. I tend to stay away from fried rolls but even the ones here are nicely fried and it doesn’t take away from the fish. The service here has always been a pleasure as well and they are fast!!! I’ve been here during lunch as well and it’s great! They having sushi coming at you left and right and you can just pick what you would like as a small plate so you can eat as little or as much as you want! If your in the area stop by you won’t be disappointed!

Someone told me about this place and that they are probably one of the best Sushi place in this area. Well, I would not make such a claim since there are really good sushi restaurants nearby. I decided to give it a try since it was a Friday night and my younger sister was in the mood for some sushi. It’s located right next to All State Office and Massage Envy; the corner with the newly constructed retail space is the entrance. It looks like nothing from the outside but the interior is pretty cool. Pretty standard restaurant setup with tables all around the restaurant and sushi bar to the right of the entrance; you have a view of NYC if seated by the window which can be a plus. There’s a long wait time so be sure to grab a seat at the bar if you do not want to wait 45 mins to an hour for a table. I am not a big roll person so cannot say much about that but it looked good. My sister ordered Volcano roll and it literally was covered with tempura crumbs which was too heavy for me. My sashimi bibimbop was a ok. There was nothing special about it. I liked the fact that the small portion of rice was at the bottom of the bowl so it works if you just want to eat sashimi and vegetables. I would have added more sashimi, ease up on the chopped lettuce and add more variety of veggeis. I would go back for a sushi date but not for normal dining out experience. It’s not authentic Japanese to begin with. I definitely prefer Korean style Japanese sushi vs. Chinese style Japanese sushi but this place is just average in my opinion. Tip: super friendly staff, quick service, sit at the bar to avoid waiting and BYOB so bring your own choice of adult beverage.
