Spicy in, spicy out! And it was worth it! My guy had a mischievous look about him when he suggested coming here and getting at least medium, so I should have known better. Spiciness levels tend to be much lower in the US so when the dish came out I took more than a few bites before it all just snuck up on me. Thai Chilis are so sneaky! They like to invite you in with a comforting warmth, that turns into a slow burn until suddenly… I was on fire, forehead’s sweaty, knees weak, heat was heavy, there was chili on my sweater already… The lady said, «Sorry, sorry» and gave us a sympathetic smile when it took her a minute to re-fill our waters. I got full after half a veggie pad thai because we drank so much! But we couldn’t stop. It just… Hurt so good. This is a pretty great Thai place and felt authentic to some places I visited in Thailand. I would even venture to say this place was hotter! If the medium is too much for you, go for the Mild Plus(a step down and likely more manageable if you do not want your stomach on fire). In addition to the Pad Thai we shared a Tom Yum soup, also medium, also hot hot hot. Everything was fresh. Vegetables were crisp, noodles cooked perfectly, the broth was clear and sharp, tasting home-made and long-simmered. And the service was stellar. It was a nice reminisce of my trip; memories I will remember fondly again when I come back.

If you want Thai food that will make you sweat, eat here. I lived in Denver for 10 years without knowing about this place, and when people heard I moved to the Sloan’s Lake side of town, they would say, «you have to go to US Thai Café,» and for good reason. It’s delicious, authentic and fresh. The décor is the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars. They concentrate on the food, not the dining experience. Get it to go, walk across the street to the lake and you’ll be glad you did.

Whoa! This place has excellent Thai food! If you love heat like i do, This is definitely your spot. If I’m ganna eat some heat i like to sweat while eating. So I find most restaurants that advertise extreme heat, fail to deliver. BUT if you want their hottest sauce this joint hits the mark just right! Its almost inedible but delicious! TIP: Absolutely get the Mango Sweet Rice!!! Best of that sweet dessert I’ve ever tried

I’m coming back to review US Thai 3 years after I’ve moved out of Denver because ever since my days at US Thai, i have yet to find any Thai restaurant that compares. This is authentic, Thai food, made with love. The curries are loaded with the veggies and the tofu is lightly fried to perfection! I miss US Thai!!!

Seriously the best curry! Massamans my favorite but they’re all solid. Other entrees are good too, and apps are just ok, but honestly, who cares. Just get the curry. And be mindful of the spice level, they really dont play around…

Ate here on a recommendation — first and last time. Busy busy place but not sure why. The food is mediocre at best. The prices are super cheap — maybe that’s the reason for a packed dining room and lots of take-out. We had the pineapple fried rice ordered mild plus at the suggestion of the server — bland. Hubby had pad pew lew fat noodles with beef & veggies. Ordered medium and was bland. Service was ok given only a couple of servers in a packed place.

So, since we first tried US Thai, my girlfriend and I have become Thai Connoisseurs. I can safely say this is the 2nd best Thai Food in Denver. The only better Thai is «Thai Street Food» in Aurora. If you live in this area, you can’t go wrong with this establishment.

I just read someone else’s comment saying to ask for ‘mild’ or ‘mild plus’ rather than medium(if that’s what you normally like) as the food is insanely spicy to the effect of «…a roundhouse kick to the face» and I concur! Holy smokes that was hot /spicy food. I like heat but this soup was almost inedible(while delicious). Had to drink milk and eat yoghurt to beat the heat. The thai dumplings where some of the yummiest I’ve ever eaten though, and the woman on the phone did try to warn me that medium was still pretty hot. I’m not sure how they could get more chili in than they did, but otherwise this place is great ;)

Very solid. Take out is the way to go — really it’s like street food. Food is super legit. Drunken noodles, red chicken curry.

For Thai fanatics, the pad thai is best on the menu. Soups are watered down, and curry is mediocre. Seafood was very fishy and I fresh. Service is good, food mediocre.

US Thai is our favorite place to eat in Denver. After just moving here in August 2015, we were looking for a great, consistent Thai place. US Thai fits the bill! The food is always super fresh, delicious, and the service is great(the owner remembers us we come so often :)) Beware of the spice levels, their food is very spicy! Even mild+ has a great kick. If you’re looking for authentic thai food, please come here! You won’t be disappointed!

I dared to go out for Thai food after avoiding it for the last nearly 2 years. Why have I been avoiding it you say? Because I simply cannot find a Thai place that’s both decent and consistent enough to even make the effort. Well, say no more. I have found the place. The food was most definitely worth venturing out for. It’s a busy little place and if anything, I would recommend getting takeout over dining in. We waited probably over an hour before our food came out, so keep that in mind. This is the reason I’m dinging it a star. Service was lacking for those dining in. I could tell that the tables around us were anxiously awaiting their food and were wondering where it was. Same as we were doing. Any who, I had the drunken noodles and they were fantastic. Great flavor, probably more spice than one would assume from ordering«Mild+» but hey, I’ll take it. The tofu was crisped to perfection. The noodles were soft and just crispy enough too. My love got the pad eggplant, which was pretty dang good also. I had a taste of the curries around the table and they were all awesome. Nothing bad to say. Finally, some Thai food that’s acceptable in this city.

I’ve been hesitant to write this review, as I really don’t want US Thai to get any more popular… Yes, I’m being selfish! I’ve had Thai all over the US, and I’ve also had real Thai in Bangkok. I absolutely love it, and am convinced That food is the best of the«ethnic» food groups. US Thai is EASILY the best Thai food I’ve had in the US. Fresh, well presented, amazing variety of dishes, and heat that will blow your mind if that’s what you want. For the mere mortals among us, they happily offer mild versions of every dish. I would advice even experienced Thai fans to use caution when choosing your level of spiciness here… Most places I can easily handle a medium to medium plus. At US Thai, medium is my absolute max and that’s knowing that I’m going to be suffering to some extent. My advice is to try no more than a mild plus on your first visit!

Best Thai food in Denver, hands down. the phone is always off the hook because everyone else knows how great the food is. We usually drive there, put in our order, and head next door to the bar for a beer while we wait. Always a special treat to have US Thai!

Okay so my mom is Thai and my friends own a Thai restaurant. That said: Jonny’s GRS system strikes again! Grassroots Rating System means. Ambiance: Food: Service: Ambiance: causal. Not bad. Service: a little slow but good. No qualms. Food: Ahhhhh… something to love, and something to not love. First off, Tom Ka Kai shouldn’t be thick. It is a coconut lemongrass soup that is thin and has veggies and meat in it. Well this one was THICK and obviously thickened with some sort of starch. Traditionally served in a little aluminum table bowl with a little flame thing to keep it warm, this place served it in a medium-sized bowl. Flavor was on point, but why so thick? Is this a type of Thai that I haven’t experienced before? A regional twist on it? I don’t know… but it wasn’t what I was expecting. :( Panang curry with beef — Also Thai curry is thin, not thickened. SAMEPROBLEM. The flavor was correct but so think it was more like a gravy. Now the redeeming grace: Thai hot means freaking HOT. Which is my dream. Good. Good. Good. I was sweating and crying in happiness. A lot to times, when you make curry, you need to fry the curry paste with some garlic and oil first to release the oils and spices of the curry. I learned this after making it wrong all these years. PROBLEM: US Thai obviously didn’t know that because the color was evenly distributed across the liquid. If you google any decent picture of thai curry, except for Massaman, you should see a distinct difference in the oil and water floating. When you don’t add the curry paste first, it makes it one color, because it only colors the water in the coconut milk, rather the oil. SECONDPROBLEM: Again this could be a chef’s choice, but they used a roasted, dried chilli flake to spice the dishes. I have eaten at many many Thai places and I have only come across this at US Thai. Why dried chillies? I’m not sure. It was hot, but the heat was GONE by the time I walked out of the restaurant. I WANTPAIN. Fresh chilli delivers this. Or chili paste. But to have a weird combination of what looks like pizza chilli pepper, and to have a moderate burn of roasted/smoked chilli is strange. And in my mind, not authentic. It’s good. It’s hot. But I think it could be slightly better.

Even if you are a heat seeker, start with medium here. I usually get Thai hot elsewhere but this place is no fucking joke with their spicy dishes. I decided to get«hot» and could only eat half my dish. I think it’s only the second time in my life I couldn’t finish something due to spice. Sweet hole in the wall, good flavor, good service. Just watch the spice level.

Fabulous thai food in a totally unassuming place. We stopped by for a Saturday lunch and had pad thai and green curry. Both were excellent. Our waitress was so sweet and everything is affordable. Also, try the thai iced tea with coconut mink, its insane. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes thai!

So I’m going full disclosure here and reviewing before I tried the food. I ordered a to go order and happened to be in the area when I called in. I went to US Thai and it wasn’t ready yet. The manager forced me to sit at a table while I waited and offered me a free appetizer just because I had to wait. I have no doubt the food is amazing since the customer service has been outstanding.

Taste bending, mind blowing Thai food. This is my go-to place; it has absolutely ruined me for other Thai restaurants in Denver and pretty much everywhere else. As all the other reviews state, they lay on the spice like no other. My husband ordered US Hot on our first trip and regretted it afterward. I always opt for Mild Plus and a Thai iced tea to cut the heat. Every dish here I’ve had is amazing. The service is quick and efficient. When we order takeout, the food is so hot we have to put it on the floor of the car and it’s still steaming when we get home. Fancy, this place is not. Who cares about $ 200 chairs when the food is this good. I go to eat ridiculously delicious Thai food and US Thai has more of that than I know what to do with.

*UPDATE* I finally got back and got to try the beef drunken noodle«Thai Hot»(photo added). After my last experience, I made it very clear to the waitress that I’ve had the Hot and thought was great, and I knew what I was getting into. When the dish came out, my friend said it looked like more hot pepper than any other ingredient. I had been looking forward to something extremely hot for a while, and this was a challenge and a pleasure to get through. It was similar looking to Hot, with a thick smoky, peppery sauce, but it was *significantly* more hot. I cleared the plate eventually. The beef quality was great, the noodles were perfectly soft. I normally add ghost pepper to meals on a regular basis, but I will probably stick to plain old Hot when I go back. My stomach hurt for ~4 hours afterwards, which is not something that normally happens to me with super hot food. I’m not complaining that this happened and I was super happy with the dish, I’m just trying to make it very clear what you’re getting into if you order Thai Hot here. (Original) If I could eat here all the time, I would. If you love really spicy food, this is the place for you. When I say«love really spicy food» I mean«regularly eat raw habaneros like they’re nothing». If you normally order Thai hot at Thai restaurants and think it’s hot, you honestly want Mild or Mild+ here. I went in knowing what I was getting into, and ordered the beef drunken noodle Thai Hot. It came out with a thick, dark, smoky, pepper seed filled sauce, and it was *amazing*. I probably went through 4 glasses of water finishing it. About 2⁄3 the way through, the waitress came out and asked how the meal was. After I said good, she said, «Oh, and that’s actually ‘Hot’, not ‘Thai Hot’». I honestly felt a little bit jipped, though if I’m in the neighborhood I’ll definitely stop back. Maybe you need to offer to pay ahead of time to get Thai Hot. The main reason it’s 4 stars instead of 5 is because I didn’t get exactly what I wanted, and because the beef in the drunken noodle wasn’t that great. I’d probably go with chicken when I go back.

This place was introduced to me by my friend, Lara, who should probably enter a US Thai rehab because she frequents the place at least two times a week(and that is being conservative!). My favorite dishes: pad see ew(the wide noodle dish with your choice of meat), lemongrass and coconut milk soup with your choice of meat(mine is always shrimp!), and crispy garlic-Lara’s fav and I agree that it is so flavorful. A tip: watch your spice level! We always order mild plus and even though we love spice, it makes our noses run and our mouth burn. The staff is cool and the place is quaint and cozy. Parking is street side… no meters! Go here-you won’t be disappointed!

From the outside this spot looks like an uninviting hole in the wall. It’s tiny inside and there are only a couple of servers working the restaurant. First the food. Exactly how Thai food should taste including the insane level of spicy you can order. I like mildly spicy and the lowest level was almost a little too hot which wasn’t bad at all. Their pad thai had that slightly burnt flavor that I’ve grown to seek out. Their fresh chicken spring rolls were delicious and came with peanut sauce. Their steamed pork dumplings tasted just like pork dumplings at dim sum. The service could use some improvement in the friendliness department is the easiest way for me to describe it. Pros: Good spicy Thai food Cons: Just good enough but almost not enough in the service department. Parking can be difficult. Bottom line: Good Thai food in a casual environment

US Thai is named that for a reason, I see it now. This is not REAL Thai food, this is some bastardized American version. The pad Thai had no actual flavor to it, it was incredibly bland. Not only that but the waitress basically forced us to get a milder spice than we asked for, then gave us chili flakes when we stated it wasn’t spicy at all. We had also ordered their pork steamed dumplings. Ok, these were like Italian meatballs wrapped in a soggy boiled wrapper, and paired with a sugar sauce. The only part of this that was edible was the meatball, which would be fine if it was supposed to be Italian. Not only was the food bad, but the wait was incredibly long, and the waitstaff rude.

Date of Visit: 6÷27÷15 With 4 stars over almost 400 reviews, I must say that maybe I was just in on a bad day. I ordered pickup(Shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken Drunken Noodle), and was not impressed by either dish, at all. I wouldn’t call the food bad, per se, but after so many reviews about the complex flavors and great spice of their sauces, I felt mine were pretty bland in comparison. I have definitely had worse Thai in the area, but also much better. Better luck next time?

The restaurant is kind of a hole in the wall, but the food is delicious. Last night we were ordering to pick up, but after 15 minutes of calling and getting a busy signal or endless ringing, we walked over to place the order. Luckily, we live close enough to do that, but I took off a star because there should be a better way to place an order for pick up. The food, however, is delicious! We had vegetable egg rolls, crab wontons, and pineapple currries. Everything was delicious amd just the right spice level(mild and mild plus).

I had been wanting to try this for a while, and I always would get the hankering on a Monday, which is the only day they are closed. So we finally got to eat here this Sunday. Confession, I am a spice addict, and eat extremely hot food on a regular basis. I even consider spicy its own food group. US Thai does not mess around with spice levels. Even the most die hard spice addict, will probably be happy with medium. We had Thom Kha– med 5:99 $, and it was delicious, and perfect. I think it is the best we have had in Denver. We also had the crab wonton 3.99 $- not spicy– just savory, crunchy, and sweet. We then had the green, and Panang curries med/hot, with chicken 8:99 $ each. Holy mother of spice– it was bordering on pain, I was feeling a bit congested before eating here, and it fumigated it out– no problem! They also do not put broccoli in their curries-yay! I do not want broccoli in my Thai curry. The only odd thing was the green curry was the same color as Panang, maybe to do with the amount of chile peppers in it? I do not want to know what Thai hot is here? Along with Suvipa the best Thai, I have had in Denver. Suvipa is closed on Tues, and US Thai on Sunday.

For a while the place floundered, and the food wasn’t quite up at the same level, but lately seems to have picked it up again. However, they seem to have changed their spice policy. I used to be able to order things ‘hot’, or ‘Thai hot’. This time when I ordered ‘hot’, the hostess wrote down ‘medium’ instead. When I asked for it hot, she got somewhat irate, and told me I should just add red pepper flakes to the dishes myself. Long story short, they finally served me the proper ‘hot’ papaya salad(you just don’t put chili flakes in the papaya salad), and dumped a whole container’s worth of red chili flakes into the chicken larb salad. Still good, but the chili lime sauce was thicker than it should be, and the level of pain was a little high, even for me. So, 4.5 stars stars for the food. Half star off for the service. The lesson: remember who’s in charge, and don’t argue with the hostess #customerisalwayswrong.

After visiting the top rated places in Denver for Pad Thai, I happily award US Thai the ultimate DOUBLETHUMBSUP! This place is amazingly awesome, fresh fresh food, great service and unbelievably inexpensive. But, do not take the reviews lightly on the spice level. My husband is a Thai hot person but can only handle Medium here. I’m typically medium and I’m a Mild+ here. This is not joke. If you can eat the Thai Hot — i cant image you actually have taste buds :) Fresh, Flavorful, Fantastic.

Made a reservation and glad we did because it was busy… and on a Wednesday night at 8. Servers weren’t the nicest… seemed annoyed when we weren’t ready to order and when we wanted to wait to order entrees after appetizers. But I guess it’s just one of those places that tries to get food out as efficiently as possible. To start we ordered: Vegetable and pork egg rolls-really good Shrimp Pad Thai-also good, ordered mild plus and it was spicy Entrees: Chicken Panang curry-very good, lots of veggies and delicious curry Chicken Pineapple curry– very good, tasted like the Panang but a little sweeter with the pineapple US Thai Special with chicken-Not so special… came in a thin«sauce» that tasted like bland chicken broth… would NOT recommend Like previous reviews have mentioned, the food here is spicy… we didn’t order above a mild plus and our mouths were on fire-and we like spicy! Overall it was a good experience-most of the food was great, except for the US Thai Special. Service was efficient but not friendly at all… but if there is good food I can overlook that. I think this is one of those places where, if you order the right thing you will keep coming back for more… but if you get a dud you won’t be quick to return.

This place is serving up really good Thai food in Edgewater. We grabbed take out from here the other night, and I was definitely impressed. I had bites of the vegetarian egg rolls, green curry, and pad thai and they all had serious flavor. The egg roll was probably the best I’ve ever had, and fried to perfection. We ordered everything«mild plus» and there was still quite a bit of heat. This food is not for people who are spice adverse. Keep in mind that this place can get busy, and I’ve been before where they were packed and wouldn’t take any more orders even though they were still technically open for another hour. So, if you have your heart set on Thai, keep your fingers crossed that everyone else isn’t craving the same thing.
